  1. Luke's eyes lit up because this was his chance, "I knew he'd pull through and snap out of it." He picked up Daisy and swung her around once and sat her down. Laughs of happiness left his lips and filled the room. The nurse just shook her hand and smiled, as she returned to her post. Cassie had limped behind her very slowly to get back to her room. "Get this woman a wheelchair she's a hero," Luke announced to the entire waiting area. He pushed an available wheelchair over to her and motioned for her to sit down. The way he figured they had at least five minutes before they could see Bo, so he wanted to make sure Cassie got back to his room. Lord, he didn't want to look back and see Daisy and Uncle Jesse's expressions on his reaction. "Thank you, Luke," Cassie eased down slowly. "I checked on you, now it's time for the doctors to check on me." "Well Honey, I'll have you back to your room in two seconds. You just rest. I'll let you know how Bo is." Cassie smiled to herself, "Don't let him know that I was wondering." Shaking his head Luke agreed, "Wouldn't dream of it." As he positioned the wheelchair beside of her bed, Luke offered her a hand to help get her up on her feet. She gladly accepted and after a minute was finally sitting on the edge of her bed. "I'm tough, but I'm not that tough." Cassie smiled again and it seemed to light up the room. Luke parked the wheelchair in front of her bed, "You were always a spitfire. Now, I'm leaving this right here for if you want to come out of your room again. I don't want you walking." Cassie nodded, "Okay, Luke. Thank you."
  2. I think that he would be sympathetic to the sick, but still stern and focused on the issue at hand. I feel like he would turn into the Marine Luke and be tough and take no crap from anybody. He's probably tired of everything that's going wrong and is going to be the one to stand up and try to fix things.

  3. Luke heaved a sigh of relief, "Can we see him?" He sounded like a small child that was eager to see a new litter of puppies. With both hands on his hips, he almost seemed too anxious to wait for the nurse to respond. Cassie had shifted in pain in her seat. She was getting ready to head back to her bed because there was no need for her to hang around much longer.
  4. Luke paced back a forth a little in the waiting room. Bo, had stirred a little while a nurse was checking his vitals and she had rushed Luke out. For the first time in a few days, he had felt hope that things were going to be fine and that he was going to be able to finally hear his cousin's voice. He looked over at Cassie who had limped out of her room and was sitting in the waiting room, after hearing Luke's commotion. She just smiled at him and they shared no words. However, just at that moment Jesse Duke came down the hall from getting a cup of coffee. "Uncle Jesse!" Luke almost shouted at him, "Bo's awake!" The elderly man's eyes widened, as excitement and hope washed over him.
  5. A smile broke on Luke's face, "Yeah, the ruffles really bring out my eyes." He paused, "Sorry about that Daisy. I guess I missed it because my mind feels like it's in a hundred places right now." Sitting back, Luke just tried to enjoy the ride because he knew that it wouldn't be too long before he'd be lying in bed. Mostly, he'd be worrying, but he knew that there'd be a lot of awful dreams to deal with. He let out a soft sigh and just followed Dixie's headlights along the road.
  6. "She's not the only one that has that dream," his gave Daisy a soft look. His eyes looked tired, but he figured that he didn't need to show it. Opening the passenger door to Daisy's jeep, he hopped in and closed the door behind him. Leaning back against the seat, he stretched and spoke, "So, do you work tomorrow?"
  7. "She'll get some help and then she'll should be off to follow her dreams. I'm telling you Daisy she can sew some clothing. I saw a dress she made once. It was beautiful. I figure that's what she was off doing before she came back here." Reaching the vehicle, Luke just shook his head. "I figure I'll wake up pretty early in the morning and head back here. Do you have to work tomorrow?"
  8. Luke just nodded, "Yeah, crazy things." The craziest thing Luke's ever done was walk away from the one person that he did love. Some wouldn't consider that crazy, but if you lived it, then you would understand. "She'll be okay, she's strong," he sighed.
  9. Luke felt his cousin's arm around him and the comfort made him feel a little better. He just didn't know how he was suppose to react about anything anymore. Bo was hanging on for dear life because of Luke. If he hadn't convinced Bo to bust him out of jail then none of this would've happened. "I should be right in there beside of him. Cassie took my bullet, Daisy." He spoke in a soft tone, but he didn't seem sad. It was as if he was only making conversation.
  10. "Let's go," Luke slide past Daisy and headed toward the exit doors. He was leaving the hospital unsure of what was going to happen during the night. There was no way that he could predict what would happen. In his heart, he just had to trust that Bo was going to pull through. In his mind, he tried to visualize his life different. There was no way that it was going to be any different than now.
  11. Luke just nodded and turned away from Jesse and Daisy; he started towards Cassie's room. He halfway hoped that she was asleep, but couldn't be sure. All he knew what that she had had just as long a day as anyone. Approaching her open door, he knocked on it anyway out of politeness. "Cassie?" Cassie had been lying still trying to get some rest because she felt a little sick. After hearing her name, she paused and took in the fact that it was Luke that had said it. "Come on in Luke." She set up a little in her bed so that she could talk with him more easily. "How're you feeling?" Luke smiled at her and stood by her bed. She smiled back, "I'm feeling a little sick, but that is to be expected. I think I just need some more rest." He just stared at her for a moment and decided she did look as if she didn't feel well. "I'm not staying long. I just wanted to say goodbye before I left for the night. I didn't know if I would get the chance tomorrow." Cassie nodded and didn't say anything for a moment. She had been searching for the right thing to say to Luke. "It means a lot that you would do that for me." "Yeah, I'm a real stand up fella. Now, get you some rest. If you're still here, I'll stop in tomorrow to say hello." She smiled again, "I would like that." Luke looked her in the eyes, "Don't be scared about what happens. You'll be alright." Before he knew it, his hand had grabbed hers and held it gently. After their moment, he squeezed her hand softly and turned to walk out. "Thanks, Luke. Goodbye." He stopped in the door and looked at her one last time. "Goodbye, Cassie." Turning on his heel, he headed back slowly to Jesse and Daisy. He saw them talking, but didn't interrupt them when he approached. He figured they would just notice him and know that he was ready to go.
  12. Luke smiled at Daisy in hopes of making her and Uncle Jesse feel better, "Hey, I understand. It's okay. Family is important and they should be more important than anything or anybody. You were just trying to protect me." Looking over at Jesse, Luke spoke again, "I'm not bitter. I love you both. Now, we'll go, but can I just tell her goodbye incase she's not here in the morning?"
  13. "That's fine, Uncle Jesse," Luke smiled softly at him. He figured that his uncle didn't know anything, but he asked out of shear hope. "I want you to know that I love her, but I know I have to say my goodbye and stay away from her. I'm not as blind as everyone thinks. I believe she has changed a lot, but I also believe that not having my family hate is more important."
  14. A look of relief washed over Luke's face, "Thank you Uncle Jesse. I'm just glad that you got it straightened out. It's been a long day." He had turned, as if he was going to walk away, but stopped. "You think they'll be here to get Cassie in the morning? She seemed to be doing alright, when I spoke with her." He just wanted to make sure that he got to tell her goodbye.
  15. Luke accepted the gesture, but he wasn't about to lose his composure to the kindness. Being the oldest, he had always been the strong one for his family. All of a sudden he froze in mid thought. "Uncle Jesse, I believe the authorities are going to arrive in the morning. They'll want to take me and Cassie. Could you phone Rosco and ask him for a prayer for judgment just for me to stay here unbothered until Bo's alright?"
  16. Luke contemplated a way to stay, but he didn't want to go against his Uncle Jesse. Everything he said made sense to Luke and it was no surprise that Luke didn't agree with all of it. Making sense and agreeing are two different things. He never wanted to leave Bo because this was his chance to make it up to him. If something else happened to Bo and Luke wasn't there, he would never be able to forgive himself. "Okay Uncle Jesse. I can do that. Know though, Sir, I'm not doing that for you or Daisy. Hell, I'm not even doing it for myself. I'm doing it for Bo because if I'm not able to be here for him then he will never forgive me." The look in Luke's eyes as he looked up in his Uncle Jesse was that of desperation and sadness. Luke was in a losing battle and all he could do was go along with what he was being told to do. "I'll leave in a minute..."
  17. "I told him that I wasn't leaving him. I told him." Luke put up a little fuss with Daisy. "Look I messed up a lot with Bo, and I can't break my word to him." Luke looked at Jesse for a help, "I can sleep here in that chair and they've got snacks and coffee. I'll be just fine. I just have to stay here. I have too."
  18. If that's your real birthday up there in your stats, then SMALL WORLD. That's my birthday too, except I was born in 1990.

  19. Luke looked up at his younger cousin, he offered her a smile. "He's fine Daisy don't go worrying about him. He just got a little riled up. His blood pressure got too high. If he knew I was there, then I'm sure it was just because he's still mad at me." Rubbing his eyes with his hands, Luke sighed. "I ain't leaving the hospital until Bo's able to leave with me."
  20. Luke sighed in relief, as the nurse looked over at him with a smile. "He's going to be alright, Sir. We gave him a sedative." Nodding, Luke responded, "Is he going to pull through?" The nurse couldn't offer anything less than a smile, "He'll be alright. Now, you better go. The doctor's going to go ahead and ask that Mr. Duke have no visitors so that he can rest." He almost put up a huge fight, but Luke knew that he owed these fine people a little something for saving his cousin. "Alright Ma'm. I'll be right out here. Let me know when he's awake." Before he turned to leave, Luke stared at Bo sleeping. "I'm still here Cousin, I'm just right out here."
  21. The doctors and nurses spoke to each other in a calm yet urgent tone for they knew just how serious the situation truly was. After trying to stabilize Bo, one of the doctors finally ordered a nurse to give him some medication to calm him down. With his heart beat and blood pressure sky rocketing, he needed to relax or he wouldn't be with them that much longer. The last thing that they needed was for the patient to have a heart attack. Luke watched from behind the team of medical professionals trying to save his cousin. His mind raced, as he wondered whether they were going to save him in time. "What's going on?" The same nurse that had been communicating with him answered, "We're giving him some medication to regulate his blood pressure. He should be fine, if he takes to the medicine well. He might be out for a little while." Not once did she miss a beat tending to Bo, as she answered Luke. Nodding, Luke took a deep breath, "Bo! I'm here. You've got to pull through. You've got to." Tears had filled the older Duke's eyes, as he stared helplessly. There was nothing he could do, but wait a minute to see if indeed the medication helped. It had too.
  22. I've had my share of a few great RPs on different journal sites and in chat rooms. I've also really enjoyed being able to participate in the Round Robin Stories Forum here. However, I wanted to get back into the RP game a little. So, I've been doing a little research and it seems that the RPs have moved more to designated profiles on myspace.com. I have recently created a profile for my character Cassie. If anyone is interested in creating a profile and RPing with me via comment section of our profiles, then please feel free to add me. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding HTML links on here anymore, so if you want to add me. Then, comment here and I will send the link to you in a message. Thanks Ya'll!
  23. As soon as the alarms went off on Bo's machines, an alarm went off in Luke's head; he panicked. "Help! Help! Nurse!" He yelled sprinting the few feet back to Bo's bed, "Bo! Bo! Hang in there Bo. Nurse!" Suddenly, the hospital became frantic with Luke's hollering and the alarm ringing from Bo's bed. Nurses and a doctor pushed past Luke to get to Bo. "Please Sir, we need you to move out of the way. Sir!" The nurse was stern and checked on Bo's vitals, as the other nurse and doctor became to work. Luke shook his head, as he stepped back. "I ain't leaving this room. I won't leave my cousin." Once she found a second to speak, the nurse responded, "Fine. Stay in the back and don't get in our way."
  24. Sighing, Luke made his way closer to Bo. The machines, the tubes, the everything that was giving Bo his chance to be well again sadden Luke unbearably. "I put you here Bo. If I hadn't been so smitten with her. My heart aches for her, but it aches even more seeing my cousin, my brother laying here like this." He paused lightly lying his hand on Bo's head, "I'd gladly trade places with you. I'd do anything for it to be me laying in that bed instead of you. Pull through, pull through and I swear to God that I will make it up to you." Rustling Bo's blonde locks, he took in a deep breath and turned to head out of the room.
