  1. Hey Garrett! Guess what?... ONLY FIVE DAYS UNTIL BRISTOL!!! lol If you can't tell I'm getting pretty excited. There is still a whole lot to do before we leave Friday night though. So much to do so little time. lol Gordon's gonna win huh? Well, I guess we'll just have to see about that. I'm of course rooting for Edwards and Martin, but I think this is a track that both Busch brothers are pretty good at too. So I wouldn't be surprised to see either one of them win. I'd rather Kyle Busch wouldn't though. You think he'll take that into consideration? lol I'm hoping with the talk between Edwards and Brad K before the race that nothing extreme happens between them on the track this week. But if good ol' Gordon goes for the win, I'd be fine with that too. I just want to see some good ol' racing!

  2. You have a great weekend and I hope you don't get too bored! Talk to ya next week!

  3. Yeah, I've seen a lot of negative comments about how he should be parked the rest of the year or thrown in jail... that is just complete craziness. And I have to wonder if those comments are coming from people that really didn't like Carl to begin with? That or maybe they are just jumping on the haters bandwagon? I just try to ignore the negativity and listen to those that have rational, logical things to say. lol Not that I'm one of them, but I do try! lol

  4. You only get to use each driver nine times? That is so unfair. I guess they want you to really think about who might win, not just pick your favorite driver. But I'm sure you are like me, my driver is of course going to win every race. lol That does suck though.

Well, my thing with Roush went way downhill with the Atlanta race. I finally got the nerve up to look a little while ago. I dropped from 17th place to 30th. I'm still in the top 5%, but that is not good at all. Hopefully I will make up some places at Bristol. :-o

  5. Yeah, if I were going to be camping out and all that I'd already be packing... in fact I probably would have started a month ago. lol But since I'm just basically taking clothes and a few other needed racing items, I'm trying to hold myself back. I know I will be packing and repacking everyday to make sure I didn't forget anything or adding things. I do that, I keep adding things, I will think 'oh, I just might need this, you never know' and throw a whole bunch of stuff in there that I will never need. lol Crazy I know, but this is why I make a list. If it's not on the list and isn't really important, it doesn't need to go in the suitcase. Honestly, I hate packing! 'Course packing is a whole heck of a lot more fun than unpacking when the trip is over. lol

  6. I figure it will all come together for Gordon soon. His team is getting consistently better aren't they? So I bet he will get another win sometime soon. Maybe you are watching him to close, you know the saying, a watched pot never boils? Maybe it's a watched driver never wins. lol just kidding with you. If that's the case I'm going to start watching Kyle Busch... and that will never happen. lol

Yeah, I'm not sure what I'm going to do this weekend either. Play with my nephew I guess. I would say I'd start packing, but that's awfully early still. lol I'm sure we will figure something out. lol

  7. Yep, everything is fine here, besides being half asleep right now. lol I was up part of the night because the tornado sirens were going off. There wasn't an actual tornado, just a watch. So not fun:mad:

Sorry to hear about your fantasy team. Don't blame me!!! lol I know, I'm doing a thing on Roush Fenway's website where you pick how each car from the whole team will finish. I put Carl as #1, and I haven't had the guts to go see how bad I placed. I was in the top 17%. I bet that has gone downhill. lol

I'm glad you got to read that one part of the article. That's how I feel too. After reading that I feel less conflicted about the whole thing. And I feel like hopefully they will get something accomplished in their meeting before Bristol. Fingers crossed!

  8. I understand your thinking about Gordon's, I guess I will call it luck, every week. It's kind of like Jr's luck, just not as pronounced. Jr seems to have a decent car or even a fast car (enough to get the pole) and he doesn't do anything throughout except lose positions. That has to be frustrating for both of them. I really think Gordon's team will get it figured out before Jr's though.

  9. Hey Garrett, sorry I had to leave our chat so abruptly last night. Something came up. Anyway, sorry about that. But I was thinking about you today when I read an article on Yahoo Sports Nascar page. Do you ever read the articles there? I like the Happy Hour/Mail Bag because you get a lot of different opinions and theories from regular fans. But anyway, if you get the chance, the article this week is called "Brad vs. Carl: Where do you stand?". The sports writer answers some of the fans and there is one in particular that I liked where Jay Hart (the sports writer) answers Jed from Bluffton, Ind. If you have a minute and the chance, I think it is worth the read.

  10. Sometimes I think Carl might have the same problem my dad used to. My dad used to keep all of his emotions pent up inside until he finally blowed his top. Don't get me wrong, my dad is the best, he would just yell and get it out. It didn't happen a whole lot and he mellowed with age. I have to say he is one of the best dad's ever (my opinion of course). But I think Carl might do that too. He is keeping it all pent up inside him until it bursts out. And he had 150 laps to let all that anger and emotion build up. Just an opinion.

  11. Yay! Two weeks to go for me! I'm getting really excited about going to the race. I've got my TomTom programmed!

I agree, I don't like the way Carl came across with his stand. I'm sure the emotion was running high. I know Atlanta is Carl's favorite track and I'm sure he was really mad he didn't get to run. But that is not a reason to do what he did.

  12. I had not heard about the end decision yet, so thanks for letting me know. I guess Nascar decided to follow through on letting the drivers "police" themselves. I hope he can keep it together to pull something out of this season. And I hope he can keep it clean at Bristol. That's one of those tracks that patience is a key I think. I guess we shall see.

  13. On one hand, I'm glad that Carl stood up for himself and took a stand. I think Brad K. is a very aggressive driver and he seems to be making drivers mad left and right... or I guess that would be left and left. lol Bad joke, sorry. For example, Denny Hamlin last year was talking about how he was going to wreck Brad, but it never happened. So I'm glad Carl finally took some action on that part.

Then the other hand... while I was watching all of this go down I felt sick to my stomach. Literally sick to my stomach. That just is not Carl. Carl doesn't retaliate like that. I'm glad Brad K. is all right. I think the end result shook Carl up a little bit too. That just isn't his thing.

  14. Hey Garrett. Sorry I haven't written sooner. So, wow, what a race this weekend. I'm still trying to make sense of it in my head. I'm conflicted about it to tell the truth. I am happy for Kurt. He had a good race and did well. Plus, it was good to see someone new in victory lane. No offense to JJ, but you know I was starting to get a little bored with it. So I am happy with that. My confliction comes from the whole retaliation thing...

  15. Well, I hope you have a good Friday and a great weekend. Enjoy watching the race on Sunday. I've got tomorrow off so I won't be on here again until next week. Have a good one.

  16. I must've missed that part with Carl on the radio. I wish I would have heard it. But you know, even Kyle doesn't irratate me quite as much as he was. I still don't really want to see him win, but he was mellowed from previous years it seems. Maybe his new engagment is calming him down? Maybe he's just acting calm and the real him will come out later. I don't know. I wonder what Kyle did to Carl to make him mad? I don't think those two have gotten a long for a while. Of course they could be great friends off the race track, I really don't know. lol I don't see that though.

  17. You don't bore me. I think it's interesting getting another take on all the happenings in Nascar from someone that isn't family. So continue talking on about Gordon. I like Gordon and it wouldn't bother me to see him win. As a matter of fact, I've got my fingers crossed that Gordon gets his fifth championship before JJ does. Of course I want to see my drivers win races and get a championship too, but I wouldn't begrudge it to Gordon either. So talk on my friend, I will read and listen every word of the way. lol

  18. As for Letarte, he made a decision that he thought would win Gordon the race. Sure people can say afterward that he made the wrong decision, but they weren't right there at the time. They might say they would have done different, but they usually say that after everything is done and over. I can be a crew chief like that. lol If Gordon is comfortable with him, then I don't understand what all the naysayers are about. I'm sure a four time champion can tell what he needs on top of the pit box. I hope that makes sense. I'm tired tonight so I don't know if I'm just rambling on and not making sense or not. Guess I'd better leave it there for tonight. lol

  19. I do get tired of seeing the 48 take it all, whether it be the race or the championship. Admittedly, he's not one of my favorite drivers, but it just seems like it's the same thing every week. I'd like a little variation I guess. JJ is a great driver with a great crew chief, so it is going to take a lot to beat them. Some people just want to complain because they aren't seeing their driver win. I'm sure if it was their driver they would be floating on cloud nine. lol For the first year or so I probably would too. But I like to see some real competition you know? Like I said, JJ is very talented and he has deserved every win. I've got to give him props for that. Of course I'll still be rooting my drivers on each week just like everyone else. ;) Some people just like to complain though, whatever is done will never be enough. That's just life I guess.

  20. I really didn't notice DW and Hammond this time, wasn't really paying attention to them. I had my nephew, so I was trying to pay attention to two different things at a time. For some reason he can't sit still for three plus hours to watch a race. lol Go figure. lol

On to Atlanta right? I think... lol All I can focus on is March 21st. Bristol Baby!!! Only 19 more days before I'm sitting at the track breathing the gas fumes, hearing the roaring engines, and screaming Go, Go, Go! lol I think I'm starting to get excited. lol I wish I had an extra ticket, I'd take you with me. You'd love it, I know you would!

  21. Well, I thought that Gordon had it all tied up on Sunday too. I guess you should never discount ol' JJ though. It does seem like he gets all of the luck, but Knaus really made a good call for four tires on that last pit stop. He has to be one of the best crew chiefs, I have to admit. I wonder how Gordon would do with Knaus as a crew chief? Well, at this point it looks like it's JJ's year again... unless... he has a year like Kyle Busch did two years ago I believe. Won a lot of races in the beginning and then fizzled out in the end. I don't see that happening though, not with the team they have.

  22. Did you watch the Nationwide race this past weekend? Apparently they ran a commercial for Charlotte. They are offering Coca Cola 600 tickets for 50% off. My cousin called and found out that puts them at $29.50. That is an awesome price. We were throwing around maybe trying to go, but I'm sure it's probably not a good idea for me with the job deal going on. But that's a hard deal to pass up. lol

  23. Hey Garrett! How's it going this week? We're finally having some pretty weather (at least pretty if you compare it to what we were having.) ;) It makes you want to get outside and soak up some sun, even if the wind does chill you right to the bone.

I have to admit that Fontana is probably my least favorite track. Even though Edwards usually does pretty good there as well, it just bores me. Probably just my mindset, but that's how it is. I'm not sure what kind of track Kentucky is, mile and a half, mile, half-mile... I just think it would be good to get something new in there. Plus it's pretty close so I could probably go to that track. lol If it is between Kansas and Kentucky getting a race, I hope they go for Kentucky. Kansas would be closer for me, but hey like I said, something new. Especially if it is a little different than the normal "cookie cutter" tracks as everyone calls them (like Kansas.) I think we have enough of those. Just my opinion though. lol

  24. Well, I'm predicting that Carl Edwards is going to have an awesome race and win the whole thing, or a horrible race and be in the back somewhere. His wife had her baby on Wednesday, 8 lbs and something and they named her Anne. I just read that on Nascar.com, but I can't remember the weight. How bad is my memory getting. lol Well, I'd better get back to work. lol I will talk with you again on Monday. Have a great weekend and enjoy the race!

  25. That would be fun to meet up at a track. I'm sure we'd have lots of fun, even if we were debating about each others drivers. lol And right now is the time to go. I just saw where you can get Charlotte tickets for basically $40 a person if you buy a four pack. Plus you get hot dogs and soda I think. When I went, we had to pay around $90 a person and we didn't get hotdogs. lol So prices are coming down and getting more reasonable. Hopefully they stay that way until I can afford to go again. (plus I will have to build up vacation time again. *big sigh*)
