  1. I'm no expert, but I don't think that it is real...there isn't even a mention of the poster on the WB site. I thought that generally "real" movie posters only became available after the run of the movie had ended. LS3
  2. Thank you - but like I said, the idea was brought up initially by Brian in another thread. LS3
  3. Personally, given how well the first 2 season's have sold and the anticipation of season 3, I think that WB would be nuts not to release all seven seasons (and the reunions). I agree that season 5 would not be as strong of a draw as the first four. I am in the category of hating Coy and Vance, but I would still buy season 5 because it is the Dukes of Hazzard, and you're right, "Welcome Back Bo and Luke" is one of the best episodes. I think that most die-hard collectors of Duke's merchandise would buy season 5 for the same reason. Season's 6 & 7 are not as strong, but I think that die-hard collectors would buy them for the same reason as season 5. In another thread Brian mentioned that it wouldn't be unthinkable for season 5 & 6 to be released together, which I think would be a smart move on WB's part. That way you get a lot of Bo and Luke episodes, even though you have to take the Coy and Vance episodes too. LS3
  4. I don't believe that this ever happened in an episode, I think the reference was made strictly for the sake of the reunion movie. I don't recall any episodes where the General was actually beat (correct me if I'm wrong, please), though he did tie with "Lucifer" in "Luke's Love Story". LS3
  5. I believe the river jump is in "Double Sting" for the first time, I know it is seen a few times after that, though I'm not sure in which episodes. LS3
  6. Awwwwwwwwww - that was adorable! Thank you! LS3
  7. Don't forget "Coltrane vs. Duke" when Boss is trying to move Rosco in the ambulance and the Dukes are chasing it. It cracks me up when the back doors of the ambulance fly open and Rosco goes rolling down the hill on the stretcher! There are so many great Rosco scenes! LS3
  8. Let's hope they put out season 5 soon! I am hoping they put out all 7, I love the DVD's. =) If they put out the reunions too, that would be a plus. LS3
  9. Dale, You're right - that would have been an AWESOME script! I couldn't think of a better suggestion for who should write the movie - too bad WB didn't think of it. LS3
  10. Luke's brother shows up in an episode titled "Brotherly Love". It's not the best episode, but there are some good moments. One of the funiest Boss and Rosco scenes is in this ep. The thing is that after Jud leaves the farm at the end of the ep, Luke's brother is never mentioned again. That seems to happen with a lot of the "extended" family characters on the show - like Hortense (Lulu's sister who shows up in "The Return of Hughie Hogg"...it's never even mentioned that she's Rosco's sister too, in fact, Rosco doesn't hardly act like he knows her in the ep...) Oh well - I don't think anyone watches the Dukes for continuity anyway...unless it's the continuity of car chases.... LS3
  11. Is it me, or did Cletus actually get soaked more often than Enos? I was watching one episode (danged if I can remember which one!) and he ended up in the pond 4 times. I think the Sheriff's department getting soaked was one of the greatest running gags I've seen in TV. It never mattered how many times a patrol car goes into the pond, I always get a chuckle out of it! LS3
  12. Again, I disagree. Yes, "One Armed Bandit's" is grittier, so are the first five episodes. Yes, in this episode there is Daisy in a bikini, Bo commenting to Luke that a couple of the kids in the orphanage could be his (I've always taken this as a joke), and of course Cooter stealin' Rosco's car. . But in "One Armed Bandit's" Jesse comments that gambling is a vice and that he is not taking part in a vice. Jesse tells the boys to get Daisy out of jail because she is family (she was falsely arrested). Bo and Luke end up putting the "bandits" in the fraternal organizations and charitable orginations in town. They split the profits between the charitable organization and the orphanage - they do not make any profit on the machines. Overall, the family values which will make up the core of the Dukes "philosophy" for the rest of the run of the show do start in this first episode. LS3
  13. I don't think that anyone on the board feels that the Duke boys were "perfect", I think that the main concern over the movie version is that the core of family values that was central to the original Dukes will be lost - which is a valid concern given the director/cast of the movie. Yes, there were scenes in the original where Daisy put on a bikini to distract someone, but there was also a scene in "Daisy's Song" where Daisy get's mad at Bo and Luke because they don't ask her if her virtue is intact (which it was). Yes, Bo and Luke had scenes where they had shirts off - with rare exception it was when they were doing hard work on the farm, which is totally believable - many farmers take their shirts off when mending fences, chopping wood, etc. The only time the boys were without shirts elsewhere was when they had their clothes stolen. Yes, they made moonshine, though never for their own profit. Moonshine was something that the Duke family was proud of. They only gave it up to keep Bo and Luke out of prison. They only made it in the series when circumstances were beyond their control. Yes, they started fights, but usually only when they were wronged. Once in a while when they needed a distraction. More often than not they tried to avoid starting them, like in "And In This Corner Luke Duke". Yes, they stole patrol cars - but this was more like "borrowing" as they only did it so they could clear their name. And the patrol cars were always returned to the sheriff's department by the end of the episode. And even with all of this, yes, I consider Dukes a family show. In most of the episodes there was a lesson about family, community, helping somoene in need or doing what's right. How many times did the Dukes get reward money and turn around and give it to either the guest who was in trouble or charity? Being farmers, they could have used that money themselves, but they only kept it in a few instance (usually to repair The General). How many times did Jesse make a comment about helping someone, or not hating someone because they were family? (Even the family members only seen once or twice). There were even episodes where Boss is seen as not so bad - many times he ends up working with the Dukes for a common good - even if he does end up having Rosco ticket the boys for speeding during the chase. :-) Dukes is a family show because you can watch it with your kids and not worry that someone is going to get killed, or that there will be a lot of swearing. The occasional "jacka$$" or "damn" heard on the Dukes is mild by today's standards. I know that this is long - but I have been hearing a lot about how the original Dukes is not a family show - which is totally wrong, in my opinion. LS3
  14. My all-time favorite villian would have to be Jason Steele from "Ten Million Dollar Sheriff" simply because he thinks he's some big-shot bounty hunter and he ends up being bested by the Dukes. I also love "Woody" from "Too Many Rosco's", it was great seeing James Best playing a character so far removed from Rosco. LS3
  15. I think the reason that they kept them in pretty much the same clothes is that being farmers they don't have a lot of extra money for clothes (Daisy had an outside job so she could afford it). Also, a lot of people have a color scheme that they tend to stick with because it works for them. LS3
  16. Welcome to HazzardNet! I haven't read the article, but it sounds like at least a few of the elements of the TV show that we know will be in the movie. Saving Hazzard and/or the Duke farm was in many episodes, in one form or another. LS3
  17. My thoughts on the trailer.... I agree with everyone else, the shots of the General were terrific! I will go see the movie, for that alone. Some of the jokes were downright horrible. What I don't get is that this movie was so concerned with being PC that they were considering not using the flag on the roof, but just in the trailer alone were two rather non-PC jokes...what's up with that? A few of the jokes weren't so bad, but again, I don't particularly like the characterizations in this movie...however, this is going to be something that primarily upsets long-time Dukes fans. Those of us who grew up on the show, who still watch the show frequently. Those of us who know the characters of Bo, Luke, Daisy and all the rest as practically family. We're the ones who are going to be most bothered by the new Duke's being out of character. I think that the best thing that those of us who are concerned about the movie not fitting what we know as Dukes can do is watch the movie for itself (and for the General). If we try to compare it to the original, it seems like it will fall way short. But, I think that it is worth seeing just to see the General jump on the big-screen, I have wanted to see that for many years...and for that I can't wait. LS3
  18. "Them Dukes are slimier than six slick snakes in an oil slick."
  19. I have to admit, DOH is my all-time favorite, but I did watch Knight Rider, The A-Team and MacGyver. Those shows were not watched as consistently as DOH, but I did enjoy them (and I still do!). LS3
  20. Welcome to Hazzard Lostsheep22! You're right about the spelling. LS3
  21. Was this an online poll that anyone could vote in, or did they go in search of people to poll. If it was not an online poll the results could be slightly skewed depending on who they asked. If they asked mostly 18 -25 year olds (especially guys - no offense!) then that could result in the higher percentage for Jessica. LS3
  22. Whoops! Sorry! I generally watch it as a whole 2-hour movie, so I tend not to differentiate between part one and part 2. LS3
