  1. i understand where y'all are coming from, but still, I've heard him say in interviews the only reason he has anything to do with the Dukes is because of his connection to John. Well what about the fans? If it werent for people like us, he most likely wouldnt be as famous. Not to mention the DOH has paid his bills for all these years. For these reasons, plus what the show stands for and how well loved it is, if I were him I'd be showing a little more respect towards the show and the fans.

  2. Am I the only one thats noticed that Tom seems to want little or nothing to do with the DOH? It seems like he's very reluctant to participate in any events such as the dukesfests for example. And when he talks about the show it almost seems he wants everyone to forget he was a part of the show. I understand the Dukes isnt the only thing he wants to be known for, but if it wasn't for this show, he probably wouldn't be where he is today. Am I reading too much into things or have u noticed too?

  3. I think Garrett said it best! The DOH is so appealing to so many people in my mind because it represents and celebrates a lifestyle that most people want to live or already live. Not to mention it always has a happy ending. Its so nice to see a positive TV show in contrast to todays negative programming. This show has somehing for everyone and it teaches good moral values as well as things the Good Book teaches us.

  4. Why I love the Dukes...better question is, what's not to love about the Dukes? It is a family show and as was mentioned, there doesn't seem to be much more of them kind of shows out there any more. Sadly. It has an awesome cast of actors/actresses with great characters that had helped build the show. I have seen each episode (Bo and Luke episodes...have watched Coy and Vance's episodes, but only a few times each or so) and no matter how much I've seen an episode, I still find it funny and interesting to watch. The show has a little bit of something for everyone - action, comedy, good looking people, and of course the famous orange car of The General Lee. Plus no one ever got really hurt and everything turned out alright by the end - as Waylon once said "They tend to like happy endings in Hazzard". Or something to the effect at least. The show builds a warm enviroment that just makes you want to pack up and move to Hazzard, Jesse has such a warm and welcoming personality that he almost makes it feel as if he were your own uncle. And though Boss and Rosco may be crooked and do almost anything to get dem dang Duke boys in jail and out of their way so they can freely control Hazzard to get the money and power that they want, they always had their limits and their own set of morals about them. Though crooked in their own right, they went out of their way to make sure no one got hurt in thier schemes to get the Dukes in jail...or should I say, try to get them in jail. Then of course you have Bo and Luke, Daisy and Cooter, and sweet Deputy Enos Strate. All willing to help out and to be there when needed - to go out of their way to help others and to make things better

Plus if I'm having a bad day or something is wrong or worrying me and I by chance happen to put in a DVD of the Dukes, for that hour or so, things seem to be just fine while I watch Rosco and Boss in hot persuit of Bo and Luke...As I said, the show has a little something for eve

  5. Hey!

Course it aint. I'm a casual fan of country music which got started on me through the Dukes but usually I'll listen to anything I like. If a song speaks to me and I enjoy listening to it for any reason then it goes on my itunes list and my ipod, simple as. I don't care what genre it is really.

For example, right now i'm really into songs done by Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana and her dad Billy Ray Cyrus (Achy Breaky Heart) Which are a mix of country/hip hop/slight bit of rock. Laugh if you will but she has done some amazing songs, not as Hannah Montana. One I would reccomend is 'Butterfly Fly Away' which she sang with her dad which is just beautiful. Search it on youtube.

A while back though, I was getting into a Rock/Heavy Metal singer called Papa Roach who did this years WWE Raw theme tune. So yeah lol, I'm into a lot. I go through phases of trying new genres. Why stick to one when you can find something just as good in another department? ;)

Thats funny you mention that, I'm a big fan of WWE myself! How about you? And I can go from listening to Alan Jackson and then listen to Pantera or Slipknot. Thats how far my musical tastes reach.

  6. I know most people my age would make fun of me for it, but I liked Little House on the Prairie. Mostly when I was a kid, but I'll still watch it even now if I see it on TV. Its not as entertaining as DOH, but it usually had a good plot and the story always seemed to have a moral or some lesson about life, kinda like the Dukes. People can rip on these shows all they want, but I don't think we'd have nearly as many problems in our society today if there were more good family shows on the air like little house and doh.

  7. Recently, me and my fiance went to a local ice cream shop to get ice cream and I had my good ol' general lee t-shirt on. It's was just the plain orange one with 01 and "general lee" in blue above it just like the car. So anyways, the guy that took our order was african-american and the second he saw my shirt he would not look at me. He looked at my fiance and took her order and even looked at her while he made the ice cream. The entire time he took my order and made mine he did not look at me once. I was the one paying and even when I paid and we exchanged receipts and everything he still didn't look at me. I felt kind of shocked because to me it felt like he was offended by my shirt and maybe thought it was racist (which we all know is not true). Do you think I was reading too much into this? Has anything similar to this happened to you?

  8. Is it weird for a DOH fan (myself) to be a really huge fan of rock/metal music? I mean don't get me wrong I really like country too but my love of rock music overpowers country music. I'm not a stereotypical person, and I hate stereotypes personally but I always kinda thought most DOH fans are country music fans as well.

  9. I think the only thing that I really didn't like about season 7 besides "strange visitor to hazzard" and "robot p. coltrane", is the fact that enos and daisy didn't get married in "enos and daisy's wedding" for a really stupid reason. It would've made a lot of fans happy to see them get married, because as the season went on it became obvious that daisy really did like enos, but I guess in a way it also was kinda cool how they left it in the air.

  10. I thought DOH: The Beginning was A LOT better than the 2005 movie! I watched it on ABC Family channel and I just bought the unrated version yesterday. I felt The Beginning was at least 25% closer to the original series than the 2005 movie was. I was a bit surprised about the nudity and some of the language, but one thing this movie had that the 2005 one didn't was heart. I mean, in this one they seemed more like a family and less like a bunch of criminals like in the last one. The plot was pretty good, the acting was pretty good, and there were no forced southern accents either which was a plus. The General looked great and sounded great! I thought the driving stuff was pretty good even though the only jump in the movie was CG and the 2005 movie had more stunts. The only things I can honestly say that I didn't like about the movie is that Bo and Luke were OBSESSED with girls and sex and Lulu was a sex fanatic, lol. Even though I think I could make a better Dukes movie, I think this was a pretty good one, and was more tastefully and thoughtfully done, and I give it a 3 out of 5 stars!

    1. A good family and true friendship are priceless, and you should cherish them
    2. You don't have to have a mom, dad, brothers and sister to have a family
    3. A good family sticks together, yet also supports and respects and loves each other for what the other believes in or wants to do, and even if u fight or argue, it doesnt change anything
    4. You should respect your elders
    5. No tv show will ever live up to the original dukes, its the best tv show ever
    6. riding around in a beat up 69 orange dodge charger is cool
    7. the good guys aren't always good (boss and rosco)
    8. the bad guys aren't always bad (the dukes)
    9. No one can ever replace any of the characters from the Dukes
    10. Some of the poorest people, possess the most

  11. Does anyone even care if the Dukes go off syndication??!! Why hasn't anyone replied to this thread?? Doesn't anyone have any thoughts on this? Isn't anyone bothered by it even a little bit?? Why does it seem like every time I start a thread NO ONE replies to it..EVER?? does everyone here have something against me, or are my posts boring? I think this thread is a serious one, that needs attention! I mean, this is why we're here, we're Dukes supporters right??

  12. Now, is it just me, or has CMT not been showing the Dukes as much as they have before?? I thought the schedule was 7 PM, Monday through Friday??? It seems like in the past two weeks, every night I turned CMT on, at 7, there was something else on, anything but the Dukes.....is CMT trying to cut back on the Dukes? You don't think they'd possibly take them off syndication?? I will be pretty darn mad if they do!! I think it's safe to say the Dukes are still their highest rated show, if not then one of the highest! My girlfriend thought maybe since all the seasons are out on DVD, that's why they might take them off the air....IDK, I think as long as the Dukes are on the air, they'll always have an audience, and we're all a testament to the fact that the Dukes will always have a strong following and fanbase? Right?! And also....without the Dukes on the air, I don't think they'll gain as many new fans as they would if they were on the air. Well, anyways, I just wanted to see if anyone noticed this and hear your thoughts......if we get a wiff that CMT is going to pull the plug on the Dukes, I say we petition them!

  13. In my collection so far, I have:

    1. The Dukes of Hazzard : Seasons 1-7 on DVD
    2. DOH T-Shirt : Orange with "01" & "General Lee" printed on front
    3. DOH T-Shirt : General Lee flying through the air w/Bo
    4. DOH T-Shirt : General Lee sliding w/ Bo & Luke
    5. DOH : Return of the General Lee video game for xBox
    6. Original 1981 digital DOH watch, plays Dixie
    7. Die-cast General Lee 1:25 scale
    8. General Lee w/lights and sound effects

And that's it for now, but I hope to add more to my collection over time! :p Preferably a REAL General Lee!

  14. I agree. In the TV world, unfortunately, KITT would kick the General's ass. I mean, I'm a huge Dukes fan, but KITT is made of like, special armor, or something, that nothing can damage, hell, you can't even shoot out his tires! lol And if I remember from the show, I think his top speed is over 300 MPH? Plus he doesn't need a ramp to make a jump, and he has weapons! But in the real world the '69 Charger R/T (one that was running good and fixed up nice) would outrun and outperform the '84 Trans Am, in my opinion.
