February 11, 201610 yr Don't forget it's the Hazzard Garage and in the first time we see him there it looks like he's working there instead of owning it.
February 11, 201610 yr Good point- he may have taken over for the previous mechanic and made it his own. Cooter was fairly young at that point, and it was established that he had a lot of wild and roudy years prior so he couldn't have been Hazzards top mechanic for very long at the start of the series.
