Capt_Redneck
Found this article today on foxnews.com. General Lee #1 going up for auction at Barrett-Jackson.http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2012/01/03/original-general-lee-jumping-auction-block/?test=facesI can't believe it will get to the price they estimated ($1 mil). Not saying the car isn't worth it but if you know the history of Lee # 1 and what was done to it both in the restoration and who did the restoration it isn't worth much at all. But that is my opinion. I'm goneDarrell Edited January 3, 2012 by Capt_Redneck added sentence
CDoherty95
It never seizes to amaze me how stupid some people can be. The only original parts on this car are the firewall and windshield. Travis Bell cheated Marvin Murphy, and is only out to make money. I haven't bothered to buy any of his DVDs,mainly because I don't want to give a cent to that cheat, but also because knowing his history I'm unlikely to get whatever I ordered. He should be exposed for the lying cheat he is.He ruined Lee 1,scamed innocent Dukes fans, and told the Cliff Shaw that his dad was the stuntman that jumped Lee 1 and was dying in hospital. Capt_Redneck
He won't get near the amount they estimate. I think he will be lucky to what he paid for it ($1000 approx). Once people know the true history and how it was obtained and the so-called resto, it should have no real value..Again just my opinion. Capt_Redneck
This is the description of the car from Barrett-jackson...http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=1291&aid=443&pop=
Meadowmufn
Seeing as we try to keep this a family friendly board, I will not air my opinion of Travis because I would have to ban myself. I will say, however, that LEE 1 should have been kept as is, a recognizable historical artifact from the show, instead of whatever it is they did to it. It's a travesty. Or rather... a Travis-ty.
