Captain D
Hello again everyone,My 69' Charger is coming along nicely in becoming a "General." As I think what to invest in next for it, I have begun looking at the wheels/rims.I'm seeing a lot of variation in wheel width. I know to shoot for the 15' inch diameter, but what was the correct wheel width used for the Generals during the T.V. show?In other words: 15 X 8' in the rear, and, 15 X 6' in the front?Any info, pics, ect. would be greatly appreciated! Kindest Regards,Aaronp.s.....Other than Ebay, would anyone have any further websites that I could check for the General Lee wheels by chance? goodolboy85
I'm not sure about the wheel size, but I do know the wheels on the General are called American Racing Vectors, and they not too long ago, re-released them.
TimDuke
They used both American Racing Vector and Carroll Shelby rims on the TV series. They used both 14 x 7 and 15 x 7. 15's used mostly on the second unit stunt cars.Yes they have reproduces the Vectors recently. www.americanracing.com I have 15 x 7 front and back on mine. I think 15's look better myself
Captain D
Thank you for the replies! I just bought the rims/wheels....I bought the "American Racing Vector wheels" (ten spoke). They're the 50th Anniversary edition and in brand-new/perfect mint condition. You can see the "01" stamped inside each wheel. I have a pair of 15 x 7 on the front and a pair of 15 x 8.5 on the back. Here is the link I purchased from:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-American-Racing-Vector-General-Lee-Wheel-15X7-5X4-5_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43955QQihZ010QQitemZ200072581525QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1VHigh regards,Aaron
