Pizza means mozzarella cheese! Hot, gooey, bubbly cheese....
The best way to grow pizza is to dial up an order for delivery. Extra cheese.

Ok, I'll look for Wallace and Gromit on the label. I might have tried a knock-off brand, or again maybe it was just old.
There's a number of cheese stores n' gourmet food shops in my area, so I'm sure I can find it and maybe some of these other ones.
Spray can cheese is not cheese. And I hate to say it, but "American" cheese makes me cringe. That's not cheese. It's mostly oil.
(inside cheese monger tip: if it contains "milk protein concentrate" or "whey protein concentrate", those ingredients are industrial waste products that are salvaged from the inside of dairy production hoses and the like. It's not, technically, recognized as a food, but the FDA has been looking the other way on this for years. Check the labels of everything from Cheetos, Doritos, to Junior Mints to Cheez Whiz, to cream cheese, and sour cream packages. It's becoming harder to avoid. This cheap substitute for real milk has contributed to the collapse of raw milk prices and has led to the loss of family farms around the U.S.)
Ahem. Pardon the soap box there, but cheese is a food of the gods and should not be trifled with.
Dang, I'm gonna halfta break into the block of sharp cheddar I was saving. I need to think about something other than cheese for ten minutes.

I love that two-can trailer. Yeehaaw!
Not sure what bar ya found in your google search Hoss, but evah-dently St. Practice Day is all over the place! Meanwhile, my local Irish tater restaurant has this on the menu:
    Traditional Bangers and Mash
Irish brats slow cooked in Guinness beer and then fried with thin layer of olive oil to produce awe inspiring bangers on a mountain of mashed potatoes, topped with onion gravy.
Now, this might be a stretch, 'cause I don't think the Irish brought bratwurst recipies with them to the New World. But I wasn't there at the time, so who knows.
MaryAnne, you got a good point about the British and cheese. Which made me remember "Wallace and "Gromit" as another fine export from across the pond. Which, after watching an episode, led me to try some Wendslydale cheese. And no disrespect to our British cousins, but...it was like eating plaster. I've sampled dry cheeses before, but man alive, this stuff was like baked clay. Could have been the brand, (it was imported but I can't remember the label) but I haven't found the will to try it again.
Now I have to take a break here and go raid the fridge. I've got a nice block of colby that's suddenly on my mind.

Brian Coltrane got a reaction from Skipper Duke in HazzardNet app for iPhone
Some of ya'll were recently asking if we had an app for mobile devices. Mufn reminded me that we do have an app for iPhones. It's free and you can download it from iTunes. Just do a search for "hazzardnet" on the iTunes app section.
Please note that if you don't already have iTunes installed, you'll need to do the free download first. Then do your search.
At this time, we don't have a universal mobile app, such as thru android. That's a whole different can of corn. We apologize for any inconvenience. Meanwhile, we hope that the iPhone app helps some of you out.
Thank you, as always, for your input and comments, as it helps us with future planning for HazzardNet!

I'd heard that our magnetic fields had already shifted slightly. That aside, as ya'll pointed out, people have made careers out of predicting the end of the world. It's become something of a lottery for lunatics.
Sooner or later, our sun will burn out (in a jazillion years) or erratic, high-powered solar flares will fry the planet like a dry leaf. Until then, we complain when it's raining.
For my money, the Bigger Questions are...where does all the outer space go to? I'm spiritual so I dig the Creation stuff, but what's all the rest of this for? God created the Earth in six days, but how long did the moon take?
Personally I think the universe is way too orderly and precise to be one big banging coincidence. And if if there was a big bang to create the universe, then what, exactly, blew up?
I have to sign off because I've given myself a headache.

No, I'm serious, Tony Romo is dating Jessica Simpson. I thought he had more sense than that. He must have taken too many hits to the helmet this season.

Tim, we're cool, I got nothing against the GL owners. In fact, I went a few hundred miles out of my way once to ride in a GL at a car show , before DF existed. And before your club existed. It was in Salem IN and the guy driving the car - ok, I'll tell you, it was "Pearl" - he drove like a loon on this racetrack. I don't know if he was showing off or trying to scare me, or both, but that was my last GL ride.
So when many of the good folks of the Confed club offered GL rides at the Bristol TN DukesFest, I was thinking "Oh gawd" but you guys did an excellent job, and thrilled thousands of fans. That's cool, I was there, I remember it and I give y'all props for it. GL's make everybody smile and I personally appreciate all your club does for the fandom.
I also appreciate all the Dukes fans who have attended DukesFest and have stood outside in blazing heat for hours on end, waiting to get in the gate, waiting for an autograph. Without those ticket-paying fans, there's no DukesFest either. Without the money those fans collectively shell out for tickets and souveniers and photos....the cast members wouldn't be at the event, let alone autograph anybody's General.
I have been a DF staff volunteer for many consecutive years, so I'm very familiar with all the historical and logistical challenges the event has been through, including the ones your club has endured. So never assume I'm unsympathetic.
What I see happening with DF so far, troubles me, and it comes down to the communication, or lack thereof, and how things are being presented, and how things are being prioritized. Maybe I can't agree with what I'm seeing because I've personally been through too much with DukesFest. All I want, is for the event to be a huge success as always. I want the GL owners happy and I want the fans who barely had enough money for gas for the trip, and their ticket, and one cast photo, to be happy.
HazzardNet normally gives DukesFest heavy promotion - without a dime of compensation, without getting special favors. Now I don't own this website and I don't call the shots, but to me there's no way in hell we're putting up a DukesFest promo on the homepage to feature Adam West. Frankly it's an embarassment.
Anyhow - good discussion, eh? I don't think any of us would get riled up so much, if we didn't have a passion for the Dukes.

Daney, I just realized I had a redundant thang in my post about the concert cancellation. I was writing that at some ungodly hour of the night and that's what happens, 'cause I mentioned it twice.
What's worse, is I blew your cover as one of our underworld spies. Oopsy.
For your protection, I recommend an immediate change of identity.
This message will self dee-struct in five seconds.

"Blame" is a strong word. I have a notion, but like so many other things, I won't air it here in the name of Peace And Unity In the Dukes Fandom. And I'm not angry about Adam West being there, I just disagree with it in a big way. Ain't his gig, ya know?
I have another guess....the only reason I can think for pulling in other non-Dukes celebrities....is if there was some doubt about the commitment of some of the Dukes cast.
I'd heard a few months ago that Tom was "in" for DF. But recently, I'd heard that he had another Broadway gig. Broadway is Tom's main bread and butter and it will always come before Dukes these days.
Daney also tipped me off that the concert that John and Tom were supposted to have in CA, was called off. It was supposed to be in May, and again I suspect the Broadway opportunity took priority.
Tom's website does say he's in a musical called "A Catered Affair" starting this month, but it doesn't say how long that gig will be running. I suppose, like most Broadway shows, it'll run so long as tickets are selling well.
Tom's site also mentions the concert in CA with John, but last I'd heard through HazzardNet's Underworld Spies, this show was cancelled. The cancellation was supposted to have happened within the last week.
Tom's website makes no mention whatsoever of DukesFest.
Thankfully, it doesn't mention Adam West either.
Heh.... WestFest!! There we go. Bahahaha!
Ok, I'm going to log off before I'm fired.

BAHAHAHA!!! I can't think of a worse mismatch. What the (BLEEP!) does the 60's-era "Batman" have to do with the Dukes of Hazzard?
Adam West is a (BLEEP!) in real life, too. I witnessed an exchange between Jimmie and Adam at a car show in Detroit several years ago. They're not real fond of each other.
And who the (BLEEP!) would think that having Adam West at a Dukes event would add value to it? People are going to DF to experience "Hazzard County" not the (BLEEPING) Batcave.
Adam West does charge an outrageous amount for his photos and autographs. When most Dukes fans are lucky if they can afford one or two cast photos at these events, who the (BLEEEEEP!!) thought that this crowd could afford an Adam West photo?
    Holy Bad Idea!
I have a pretty good idea who's behind this peice of oxygen-deprived genius and I'm not going to blame Elly for it.
Oh, and to express my feelings in more detail...

Brian Coltrane got a reaction from Skipper Duke in Ray Kohn's Dukes Show
That's what this is. (We can't help it if they keep changing the name of the shindig, ya know?) It was "DukesFest" for years, so we made a "DukesFest" topic in the forums. Now it's "Hazzard Homecoming" because Ben gave/sold the name "DukesFest" to John, but when John ran the shindig in Atlanta, he lost his shirt. We still refer to it as DukesFest because we're too lazy to keep changing the forums.
And we've got the cast categories in the forums as well, so if a cast member is appearing someplace individually, it can be posted there.
When ya get right down to it, everybody posts stuff all over the place, so between the Forums and the home page, word seems to get out. We could create another forums category but my head would explode.

That's a disturbin' thought, MaryAnne. 'Cept I don't think Starsky & Hutch would be lookin' to take on any apprentices.

Brian Coltrane got a reaction from Skipper Duke in Starsky & Hutch DVDs available
I always have fun watching Starsky and Hutch episodes. It's edgy and melodramatic. Also had it's share of humorous moments. Paul and David had a good rapport both on the screen and off; and that chemistry added nuances to the show that scripting alone didn't create.
Sometimes the show fell into a pattern, where the bad guys du jour were trying to find interesting and creative ways to eliminate a cop. You could summarize some eps in the following:
Starsky gets captured by a cult that intends to make a sacrifice out of him. Hutch panics.
Starsky gets captured by a bad guy who slowly poisons him. Hutch panics.
Hutch is missing after a hitman shoots out a tire and his car goes careening off a cliff. Starsky panics.
Hutch is missing, and poisoned, and captured by a bad guy. Starsky panics.
I'm poking a little fun at them here, but the above descriptions more or less give an accurate ep synopsis. But in truth, it was the bad guys that usually had to panic. Pound for pound, I think the detective duo killed more bad guys outright, than they ever arrested. Talk about a homicide unit.
I recall one ep, where Hutch was kidnapped by bad guys ( and yes, Starsky panicked ) and once Hutch was thrown out of the car, Starsky took a few crazed shots at the fleeing vehicle's gas tank and blew it to firey smithereens. I think he got three or four bad guys right there.
Which is why I avoid Bay City at all costs. No wonder so many bad guys find their way to Hazzard County!

I agree, Inga. And for your amusement, just imagine the sight of KITT slamming into poor Herbie the Love Bug at about 180 miles an hour. WHAMMO!! *crash tinkle scrrreech*
Of course, with KITT being the polite sort, he would issue an apology. "Pardon me. You obstructed my trajectory, and I did not detect you in the roadway."
Then, KITT would run over the pieces and scatter them as far as possible... BAHAHAHAHA!!

Good article, Inga! Thanks for sharin'.
I'm not surprised at the General Lee bein' number...01 on the list. Khee!
Some of the other rankin's are subject to dee-bate. Seems they surveyed an older crowd; I'm sure most of y'all nevah seen "Bullit" . (That has one of the most famous car chase scenes in all o' movie history, but I'd question if the rest of the movie has anythin' goin' for it.)
I'm surprised that KITT didn't make the list but Herbie the Love Bug did? Gah.
At least the Bandit Trans Am made it on there.
An' ya know, sooner or later, I expect a Chevy will make the famous list. I guess there's so many great Chevy's out there, it's hard to narrow 'em down. Tho' of course I've got some bias on that subject. Heh heh.

Brian Coltrane got a reaction from Skipper Duke in any ideas on season 3?
I get some dirt from industry speculators, and this rumor on Season 4 and the rest shouldn't be treated as anything more than that. Critics never dug the Dukes of Hazzard, and so there are some folk that doubt that the series is salable past the 4th season. But that's an opinion and not a fact. I personally think that as long as the DVD's keep selling, they'll keep releasing them.

Ya know what? You should rearrange this list, and make it Hoss's 100.
I'd redo the list, but I'm too lazy. If I did though, I'd add a car or two from the campy 80's movie "The Wraith."

And, I'd add the Metallicar from the CW series, "Supernatural."

Brian Coltrane got a reaction from Skipper Duke in The FLAG IS STAYING!!!!
I'd say you're right, Tim! From what Ben was saying it sounds like WB had made the decision to remove the flag, even came close to admitting it to one of the news media, but then upon finding the depth of the hue and cry decided to leave the General Lee alone.
I have no doubt that if Dukes fans had NOT reacted loudly, that WB would have gotten away with removing the flag. By the time we would have noticed it was missing from die casts, or that new diecasts weren't coming out at all, it would have been too late.
A big SAL-UTE goes out to all Dukes fans who spoke up on this one. Together as a fandom, between our message boards, websites, facebook pages, tweets, emails and what have ya, we spoke with one voice.
I also think that we have an onus to put our money where our mouth is...since money talks and WB listens to it. As long as fans are buying General Lee diecasts, model kits, and the DVD sets, WB will probably keep approving the products. If nobody was buying the stuff there wouldn't even be a debate about the flag being on the products...there just wouldn't be products.
Few and far between are the TV shows with this kind of staying power. The fact that the Dukes can survive, in the face of the ongoing rebel flag controversy, is a powerful statement to the strength of the fan base.
Now if only we could get CMT, or somebody, to put the show back on the air. One battle at a time, eh?

Brian Coltrane got a reaction from Skipper Duke in February 2012 Fan o' the Month!!
Long overdue for recognition is somebody who has been a part of HazzardNet since 2004. He's also a member of the CGLFC and has been an active voice among Dukes fans for many years.
This longtime Dukes fan is a friend to many. He's also never afraid to speak his mind. Yet he always conducts himself with honor even if discussions and opinions get a little hot.
I chose this photo in recognition of our Fan of the Month because it speaks to the same values that Capt Redneck has always shown. He's hard-working and self-sufficient. He can take care of himself, but he's always ready to help a friend in need. So this scene of the Duke farm during the GA filming is appropriate; Capt Redneck is in it somewhere.
Congratulations, Capt Redneck, and thank you for being a part of HazzardNet! Sal-ute!
