Grady Byrd was a Night Watchman whom Boss promoted to Sheriff while Rosco was away at the Police Academy in Georgia on a refresher course. If anything, Dick Sargent was the closest who came to almost being a Rosco-Clone.

"Mason Dixon's Girls" is the weakest episode of Season Two.

Forgot about another one - the shot of Buster Moon in the opening credits of "Return of the Ridge Raiders".

It was originally filmed as a 2 hour episode and was the last story in the show's second production block but was left over to start the Third Season. The episode is syndicated as a two-part story; Part One ends with Bo punching Luke - the scene freezes and Waylon Jennings tells viewers they'll have to wait until next week to find out what happens next. Part Two begins with everyone walking out of the Farm House before the fight begins (as per Part One - y'all with me on this?)

No, it's the shot from One Armed Bandits where they jump over the mound of dirt and Rosco's car, which are the last shots to be used in the opening titles. Luke looks at Bo (which was used) but we then see a shot of Bo looking straight ahead and a bit nervous/apprehensive.

There might be a fourth one - the shot of Bo, Luke and Jesse in the barn looking at the slot machines and laughing.

Looking at the Opening Titles for the First and Second Seasons, am I right in thinking that there are some unused film shots used? I'm thinking particularly of the following shots.... 1. Close-up of Ben Jones smiling and pushing his cap up. 2. Close-up of Denver Pyle pointing his finger. 3. Close-up of John Schneider before the General Lee jumps over the mound of dirt. Can anyone help me here?

Indeed I was wrong. I had a look at the end credits of "Duke of Duke" and the character was called Longstreet B. Davenport. As Batman would have said "An honest mistake anyone could have made."

Sonny Shroyer was in hospital having an appendectomy performed on him (ie he had appendicitis).

I always thought the character was called Longtrain (LT) Davenport. It's been a few years since I saw those episodes and I haven't got up to them on my DVD of Dukes Season Two, so I could be wrong...

This is my understanding from what Jones said about it on the E! True Hollywood Story on the Dukes... Over the course of the First Season, Jones intentionally grew a beard to avoid Cooter becoming a cliched character. Before filming began on the Second Season, Jones was ordered to shave off the beard, which he did (presumably) reluctantly. However, as filming progressed on the Second Season Jones grew the beard back and was again ordered to shave it off. This time, however, he refused and walked off the set in protest. Eventually, after four weeks, the Producers (or whoever) caved in and Jones returned to the set with his beard intact.

I re-watched this episode on my R4 DVD copy of Season Two and noticed something very odd - in the final scene where they all sing along with Loretta, Cooter has his beard again and Bo's sideburns have grown. Presumably, these scenes must have been either remounted or recorded at a later date - does anyone know which it is and why?
