Plot Summary

The Dukes on horses

Digger Jackson escapes from jail and comes to Hazzard to get revenge on Boss, the man who sent him away. In court he'd threatened to blow a hole in him big enough to drive a truck through (or was it a tractor?). First he steals the General, and then he robs Homer Griggs' grocery store. Of course, Homer only sees the General, so he reports Bo and Luke for the robbery. Oblivious to the robbery and the identity of the man who stole the General, Bo and Luke hitch a lift with Hobie, the town drunk.

Fearing for his life, Boss barricades himself and Rosco inside his office at the Boar's Nest, although the barricades don't stop Lulu coming in to check on her "chickabiddy". While Rosco is off getting more guns and chasing Bo and Luke, Digger kidnaps Boss and demands a $100,000 ransom. Lulu doesn't know where Boss keeps his money, and the townsfolk aren't exactly eager to save him, so it's up to Uncle Jesse to appeal for contibutions.

Between them, the Dukes figure that Digger has the General and that his hideout must be somewhere that only some idiot might take a car. Hoping to clear their names, and rescue Boss, Bo and Luke set off with Daisy on "three of the original off-road vehicles". Initially, they don't have much luck, but then Boss manages to stick a damp rag in the stove, and the Dukes see the smoke. While Daisy makes sure that Boss is alright, Bo and Luke chase down Digger and the General on their horses.
