Peggy Rea
Peggy Rea was born on March 31, 1921. She started her on-screen career in 1953 with a few bit parts in I Love Lucy. The bit parts continued through the '60s and '70s, with Peggy rarely playing the same character twice, even when reappearing in a TV series. In 1978, a year before Dukes started, she got a role in The Waltons. Although that character (Mrs. Borer) didn't return, Peggy did in the next season, playing Rose Burton for a total of 37 episodes. After playing Lulu in Dukes, it was back to bit parts for Peggy until she played Ivy Baker in 22 episodes of the Patrick Duffy TV series Step by Step in the early '90s. Aside from Dukes, Peggy is probably best known for playing Jean Kelly, Grace's mother in Grace Under Fire, between 1993 and 1998.
Peggy died on February 5, 2011, just a few weeks short of her 90th birthday.
