CDoherty95 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Let's just theorize that someone has a family member who has been diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer. Would it be possibly for that person to donate part of their liver to the cancer patient?I've read that the liver can regenerate itself, and that the success rate is above average, but I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm or elaborate on this.Thanks. Jami Lee Hogg Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 I have heard that too. But if your asking would I do it. I guess it would be depend on who it was in my family. If was my aunt fat chance I won't do it, but if it was a family member I got along with. I have to pray about it before I tell them I would do it. I would weigh all my options. Quote
Meadowmufn Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 This will probably go a long way towards answering your question:http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/news/20060724/donating-part-of-liver-relatively-safe Quote
