A little glitch that I noticed about this episode, when the police are chasing Boss, Waylon says that Boss changes his license plates every time he goes into town, however through out the series Boss always had the same license plate "Boss 1"....
-
I guess that there will be no Confederate flag license plates on the Sherriff cars even though they were present on every single Hazzard County Sherriff's car in the original series...

It recently occured to me that I posted this message on the fan fiction general discussion (There are WAY to many bleeping "general discussion" boards on this server) and I think I didn't find the answer cause I'm on the wrong board... So heres my original message.... Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone knows which episode a certain stunt is in... The stunt involves the General Lee doing a huge jump over a train thats carrying cargo things, and Roscoe also attempts the jump but ends up on his roof.... After that he ends up getting out of the car and kicking the tire/saying something Roscoe-ish... If anyone can tell me which episode thats from I'd appreciate it!
-
Why is there no edit on these boards! I only consider the single light rotator things to be gumballs, not the 8 or so in one that they used on the show... But maybe....
-
The Hazzard patrol cars never had gumball lights buddy...
-
Well I'm pretty sure its from season two, and its an AWESOME stunt... Sometimes it was used in the opening credits to, when the General jumps the train and hits two barrels and they fly with it... If that helps anymore And the Roscoe stunt is sweet too cause they must have used a pipe ramp cause it does a perfect barrel roll and slams into the road....

And more about the womanizing, there are tonnes of eps were he womanizes, like Officer Daisy Duke, the things that he says about women in uniform! And then there is the ep when all the women take over the men's jobs and there are plenty of stereotypes and such that Boss brings up... Case in point, throughtout the whole series Boss never have much regard for women, just like in that ep when he's running against that woman for County executor or whatever....
-
If you ever saw any episodes with LuLu, you would know that he doesn't in fact love her and it was just in fact a political move... They don't even sleep in the same beds and he refers to her as Roscoe's "fat sister"....
-
Boss was always a womanizer, remember the Play Pen and his lil pigglets or whatever... Back to the movie, I think its retarded they have this McGainy guy or whatever, who is like a tower of power as Roscoe... Roscoe was a twig for christs sake!
-
In the original the state police were never called because what they were doing in Hazzard County was all illegal... It will be interesting to see why they do team up in this movie...
-
The shots of the car hitting the ramps might be real, and maybe a little flying too, but the landings that were shown in the trailer were clearer done with CGI... Remember in the old show how you never ever saw the General Lee do a complete landing? Doing a movie in 2005 doesn't mean the cars aren't totalled after they land, they still are and a good chunk of all the stunts are atleast done with/touched up with CGI... The highway jump clearly shows this, the take off looks real, but when it lands, totally fake... (I don't mean the front angle of the landing, but rather the rear view when its in the process of landing) Its hard to tell from a pixelated internet trailer, so ask me after I've seen it... Oh and also, WTF is up with the round 0 on the General Lee in that very first shot?
-
Honestly, after seeing that trailer I'm more excited to see this movie... But there are still some problems, like why does this movie contain scenes ripped from American Pie or some dumb ass movie, ie the sororiety scenes... Totally gay... And SWS as Bo.... Bo was country charming, not brain dead... That Asian doctor thing too... Totally lame, they would never do that in the original series... My biggest gripe though, ENOS!! Enos doesn't have a moustache!!!! And I'm sorry but Enos was really timid and awkward or whatever around Daisy, he wasn't just completely awe struck and speechless like the guy in that clip... It does look entertaining, but I'm just worried about the little things... Oh and those jump scenes are CLEARLY CGI, its just progressed to the point where most people can't tell... The jumps are similar to the climax one in the remake of Gone in 60 Seconds... You really can't blame them for the CGI, its not like there are thousands of Chargers lying around anymore... Oh and anyone else notice how the OLD crown vics are the ones used in stunts, love the producers!

btw, Can someone please direct me to the pics of these uniforms?

If Boss was that cheap he wouldn't have boughten so many Furys in the original season! He would have just found new damn sheriffs that could drive better I'm just saying that Caprices are totally gay for this movie...
-
Does anyone else think that they fact they are using like '80s Caprices as the Hazzard County sherriffs cars in the movie is totally gay? I mean when I was a kid growing up in the late 90s and first got into the Dukes, I'd fantasize about what the show would be like with modern cars esp like Crown Vic police cars.... Keep the General a 69 Charger, but for god's sake why they used Caprices is totally beyond me... If they wanted to be like the old show, get 76 Furys, or if they wanted to modernize the whole thing (which I think they did) why not use 99-present Crown Vics!!! Its completely insane to me... They have Daisy's jeep as a damned Rubicon (cheap product placement there) but they have to use junk Caprices.... Eventhough the Furys they used for the show were quite a bit older than the years in which they were used, they still looked like modern police cars that a normal department would use anywhere across America... Using 20 year old Caprices in a 2005 movie is rediculous! You could never use cars that old simply due to reliability issues and the fact that they are hard to find nowadays! Another thing that bugs the hell out of me is Boss Hogs limo, couldn't they have found the same model and year used in the original? That was a cool car then and it still is, so I'm glad they kept generally the same car, but it should have been exact if they were going for the nostalgic appeal... Honestly I think that the producers did a half assed job on this movie just to hit on a blockbuster for the summer... It's clear that no one on the crew ever watched the show and its apparent in thier disregard for the nuances. And look at the retards they chose for Bo and Luke, do they think we are going to take Stifler and idiot humour boy seriously!!!

I think this movie will totally suck ass, but can't wait to go see it... I'll have to take someone that can stand listening to me b**** through the whole thing though....

Bubba, they mention the seperate cars idea in the record piracy episode too, (atleast I think it was that one). Waylon Jennings says that "they had another car but the General Lee was their racing car and they only used it when they were in trouble... which was pretty much all the time." Or something along those lines... I recently saw the record piracy ep and it was AWESOME, I forgot how good some of those 1st season eps... All the real Atlanta filming with the Boss Hogg/police chase through downtown Atlanta... Very hot, and I think its the only ep when the top on Boss's convertible is up...

In the episode "The Legacy," from seasons 3, Roscoe is absent, where was he? Was it another labour dispute or...?
-
This episode from season 2 recently aired on CMT in Canada and I forgot how truly great it is... Its a break from the typical Dukes/guest star vs. Boss and sheriff storyline as it provided an insight into the LEGITIMATE actions of the Hazzard County PD... Sometimes in the Dukes you forget that they would have real responsibilities like any normal police organization as they are always chasing the Dukes and never seem to have any other purpose in life... Anyways I love episodes where Roscoe/Enos/Cletus/Guest Sheriff (as it was in the episode with Grady Byrd) go after real criminals... The chase scenes between Byrd/Robbers and Enos/Robbers are really intense and suspenseful unlike most of the Duke's chase scenes which seem more fantasy than reality. The seriousness of the episode really was a rare departure for the series mainly from episodes from season 3 on which became cliched, predictable (although still fun) garbage dumps... Its one of the few episodes where you truly want to see the Hazzard law catch their man making the chase scenes alot more exciting and making Enos less of a blathering idiot which is always nice... All in all I really like the episode's tone and pace after the messy business of Daisy actually becoming a cop which is a little cheesy, and an attempt at making more similar episodes should have been made. Episodes where the Dukes/the law are united against another foe do appear later in the series however they aren't quite as good simply because Bo and Luke always out shine everyone else, and in this episode the ensemble cast really takes the forefront and a whole new aspect of Hazzard County life appears (Note time and time again Bo and Luke are hampered by some misfortune which keeps them out of the action for a while). Don't get me wrong, I love any Dukes chase scenes, especially those involving Roscoe/Enos, but this episode added a welcome dose of reality which really made the whole concept a lot more appealing as it was sober law men vs. heinous bank robbers instead of the tired Dudley Dooright vs. innocent backwater country pretty boys...
