  1. So we got in line, and his line was moving super-fast, we were only in it for about 45 minutes also. I got there and I got my stuff out for him to sign. Luckily this year he cut folks a break. It was $20 each for everything. But if you got three things it was only $40, instead of $60. That was nice of him. So he signed my stuff and I explained my scrapbook page once again. And apparently he scrapbooks and we started talking about scrapbooking, and he said that he found it very relaxing, we chit chatted while he signed. I am really glad I decided to talk this time instead of just a smile plastered on my face. So when he was done, I asked if I could get a hug. He smiled and said of course..soo….I GOT MY HUG!!!! YEEEE HAW!!!!! Highlight of the day! Well one of the many. He is like hugging a giant teddy bear! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! 8) I was sad that I didn’t get a hug last year, but this year I did, so that was awesome.

When we left he said “You got a heart, where your heart is!†I was sunburnt but where my heart necklace was it was white and you could see the heart. Anyways then we went to see the stunt men. There was only one there this year. I want to say Gary Baxley, because I think he said his cousin Corey was with him last year. He was really nice, we talked probably 5 minutes, and then some other folks came along so we had to go. I like listening to what they have to say because they know all about the cars and everything.

    2425yza.jpg

Then we were basically done, the only one left was Cooter and he wasn’t signing yet. So we went to the tent and listened to the bluegrass band they that were on stage. Then I saw that they were starting with the civil war reenactment so I made my way towards there. They had everyone dressed as they would have been, and the horses and everything. They done what a battle would have been and the North lost this battle. The sent them running for the woods. It was really neat. Then when it was done, they came to the crowd and let everyone pet the horses and ask questions. They asked about the war, about some battles, about the horses and all kinds of things. It was really interesting. I am glad that I made it to see it.

    2uho9pv.jpg

So after that I walked around to the cars. They had a good many General’s and what not, but not near as many as they did the first day. It was cool seeing all the different stuff the personalized their cars with. They had a General Lee bus. There was a Dixie, and I think that there was a roadrunner.

    59y43q.jpg

While I was walking through them, I ran into a feller who was portraying Uncle Jesse, so I got my picture with him.

    2urwaoz.jpg

  2. So next we went to Sonny Shroyer’s line. We stood there about 45 minutes or an hour. He is such a sweetheart. I love him. I talked to him while he signed and he said that my page was really neat (even if they are just being nice, it makes a person feel good 8) …) He takes the time to sign his name so pretty, I dunno if a guy likes being told that his writing is pretty but his is. So then we got up for my picture. There was a bit of confusion there; he was like that will be $10. I said I know, I already told the lady, and paid her. He went to make sure I was truthful but the helpers were all busy talking so he just got up for the picture. I must say I love that mama takes random pictures throughout the whole experience. Or I wouldn’t get such candid shots like the one of me and Sonny below…It makes me laugh sooo much. Mama says he is playing peek-a-boo. I don’t know what he was really looking at, but it makes me giggle.

    opzabk.jpg

But as you can see I got a good picture where he was looking at the camera and I thought it was really cute. So we said good-bye and we was on our way to the next booth.

We decided to go see Rick Hurst next. We waited about 45 minutes. We got there and he is really nice too, and funny. He liked my scrapbook pages too, he kept mentioning about the layout. Again that made me happy. So we chit chatted. I wish I had said now that I was really happy in the movie they didn’t fry him with the electric fence like everyone figured was going to happen. But I forgot and didn’t get to tell him. So I got my picture with him and what not then I was finished for the day.

I figured I could get John, Catherine, Ben and the stunt folks tomorrow. Cause I never found Cooter’s booth he was always doing stage shows and working, which was understandable why I never seen him signing. So I had the rest of the night to actually enjoy the homecoming. We went and watched a stage show. Then we went to the car and sat in the nice air-conditioning a while! :p Then we went back. Then it was time for them to jump the General Lee, yep they had a General jump this year. It wasn’t anything major, just ramp to ramp but it was a jump. So they played around in the General for a while, and the cop cars chased them and then they made the jump. It went off without a hitch. Cooter said he was hesitant to jump it because it was his car and he just had it painted. It was really cool. Here are a few pictures from it. It isn’t a good quality video, my camera takes better pictures than video, but hey it works if you wanna see it.

    33yt0qp.jpg

So after the jump it was time for the stage show….THIS WAS AWESOME….BEYOND AWESOME! I am soooo upset that both my mama and my memory card was filled up and I really couldn’t record anything. I just hope and pray that when Cooter makes the Homecoming DVD, they will make one of this concert, the whole thing, no cutting anything out and sell it. It was sooo cool. (This is not the exact order everything happened, but it is the general idea) Everyone got up on stage. Cooter was the first one up on stage, and then he introduced everyone. Once they all got on stage Tom and John sang a few songs. John sang Country Girls, and A Boy Named Sue….I loved that. Tom sang Up on Cripple Creek. They also sung Fox on the Run…That was amazing…I wish I would have gotten it recorded…wow…just wow. Also James got up and sang his Side by Side song again. Then the feller who was impersonating Barney Fife got up on stage with him and they done this alphabet type game. The copper clappers were capered by Clifton Clowers. Is that the same Clifton Clowers from Cleveland who sold crab cakes on the corner who also worked for the circus cutting canvas capes for camels? But the cleaning lady, Clara Clearwater found the clean copper clappers in the closet.

It was something to that effect and they kept going over and over it. It was soo funny. Then they also sang “The Good Ol’ Boys†It was just really pleasant and entertaining. I was sad to see when it was over.

So after the concert, we all went out into the field and got ready to watch the fireworks. I dunno why, but these fireworks were the best fireworks I had ever seen. They were huge, and full of color and just really pretty. I tried getting some pictures, but I was busy watching them, that I wasn’t that focused on my camera and didn’t get very many good shots. The finale was extremely beautiful. So then they was over and it was time to hit the hay for the night.

    2d8nns4.jpg

But during that day we had talked to someone that had come on Saturday at 5 o’**** and they said they was allowed to park and go sit at the gate. So since Catherine’s line was so long, we decided we would go at 4 and go stand at the gate. So we went and got a wee bit intimidated by the Sheriff car that kept circling us, but even said Hello so we went and drove the road for a little while. Then when it got lighter we went and parker at the bottom. The sheriff car came down and talked to us for probably a half hour or so. He said that we could go ahead and park, we could have parked before also. So we went down I think it was like 3 and a half hours or so before the gates opened. We were still 8th in line. So when the time come, they brought the cameras over and said as the line went through they was going to record it. We had to yell Yee Haw! Then the lady beside us in line was like if we yell really loud will you let us in the three minutes early. So they agreed and as everyone went through it was like they realized the camera was on them and they didn’t yell or say much. I was going to run by it and yell and holdd my Dukes of Hazzard poster up, but I chickened out. :p

So everyone headed to their line. It really wasn’t a mad dash like it was to John’s line last year…but there was a dash for everyone to get to their line. They had said the day before they was going to open Tom Wopat’s line up at 7:30am in order for him to get everyone signed, I am not sure if they did or not. So I was speed walking to Catherine’s line and we was still about 30th or so in line. Which I couldn’t complain about. It got long really fast. Then once mama caught up with me, I went and set our chairs up under the tent so we would have a spot to sit. So we finally made it to Daisy. They had her a lot of helpers. They were really nice but everything seemed really rushed. She seemed to be happy, but you could tell she was a bit flustered and what not. So we chatted while she signed and she thought it was really neat that I had all the cast signatures on the pictures. She said addresses at first and then she started laughing and shaking her head and said noo signatures!! I finally got my poster signed by Catherine, John and Tom that I got two years ago for my birthday. I am ecstatic, now I just need to find a frame for it. So she got everything signed and then I got my picture….I love the picture I got I think it is sooo cute. So we said good-bye and we were on our way to John’s booth!! WOOO HOO!

kbsp77.jpg I even got my picture with Daisy’s girls. Everyone was having them sign stuff and get pictures with them also.

  3. John’s character was an actor (who was drunk most of the time) and he went to act in a scene and his agent said “think of Duke.†And so John says, “I love that show!†And then he goes on to impersonate John Wayne’s Pilgrim line. He did a good job at it I thought so. He did the Tarzan call in one line, and then another line he screamed ESTELLA!!!!! It was just really cool. The shrews were horrible though, they made me laugh sooo much. They blood and gore was also overdone. Another disappointment (not really a disappointment but depressing :p) The Killer Shrews ate John half way through the movie!! Hahahaha it was hysterical. But even if this is not up your alley, this type of movie, give it a shot. You might actually like it. And hey it has John, James and Rick in it, what more can you want.

OhhhHHH One other line in it that I remember that I think everyone loved was John, James, and Rick characters were sitting at this table (I may not get this exactly right, so if someone else was there, and can correct me if I am wrong have at it) Anyways they were at this table drinking and it went something to the effect where James said to the others they look familiar. He used to be a sheriff in Georgia. And used to chase around these two quite a lot. John said he used to get chased a lot….by girls. And Rick said something to the effect you know, you do look familiar. They went on with this for a minute or so and then was just like nawwwh couldn’t be and went back to drinking. I know that wasn’t exact—You know how when you pay attention to something so much you are basically in a trance. Well I did this, and when I do that I really have trouble remembering. But it was really neat, and I would love to have it on DVD. So if it is ever out where y’all can see it, watch it.

So that was the end of the first day. It was awesome…I had sooo much fun. I know I keep saying that over and over, but I dunno how else to say it. I am having a hard time putting my happiness and excitement into words so that it doesn’t look like this: kijhgdfbsjkcviofhjuksdmxclv hjxdfbsm, xckl;bhkdnmasxcvkl;sdfbjnm, cvkl; jihbnkjhbndkcvjhfkdrbnsmcvbjkl fhdrbn vhujfdrbnjckldnmxkcljhbdnjxkchugyjvbnhjxgyftcdvgrdeswdfgtrdsvbghjkm, nbhjklm, nbhgjukilm, nbvghujkilmnbvghyjuknmbvgh…….

Then came the next day; We headed to Hazzard County (That is what they had on signs all over the place which I thought was really cool) and the road there was just like what you would find in Hazzard county.

    34tbzuu.jpg

This place was beautiful. I love the countryside of Virginia, one of the few places I would be willing to move to beside the place I live now.

    2ywwdg6.jpg

Stay tuned for the rest of my story...It will take me a few moments to get it all posted. I also have a few videos I would like t share, but YouTube was being extremely sluggish today so that will have to wait until another day.

We got there about 2 hours before the gates opened and were quite a ways back from the beginning of the line. So we got in, and I figured since Tom Wopat was the only one I hadn’t got to meet yet, we headed to his line first. We stood about three hours and we finally made it to him. During those three hours I talked to two fellers, Sean and Bill (Maybe it was Will) they have New General Lee’s (The new chargers). They were getting parts of them signed. This made the line go soo much faster. We all speculated whether Tom was going to be in a good mood or not. I took pictures while waiting, and most he looked grumpy in, a few he was smiling. So we were the next in line, the people before us had a couple girls, and he said that he was surrounded by beauty, which I thought was nice of him. Then came my turn his greeting was “Hey beautiful†(So what if he was just being nice, it was a nice self-esteem booster…haha) So I got my stuff out, He signed it all. I was happy cause he even personalized it and wrote “All the Best†I talked to some folks later on that he just scribbled his name on stuff and didn’t say anything.

I told myself this year that they were just normal people like everyone else, just a little more talented so I would actually say something instead of just be in this happy daze like I always am before. I always felt like dumb not saying anything before…I still felt dumb talking because they could probably care less about what you had to say but you got a few seconds to babble while they are signing! :p So I did, and I am glad I did, it added so much more to the experience. Anyways I am off subject. So I talked to Luke and told him he was the only one I hadn’t met, and my mama had so she rubbed it in my face and he was like “sometimes that’s the way it goes.†Blah blah blah…then mama said a few things to him, and he even gave her a hug. He was nice, and seemed to be in a good mood. So I’m glad this experience wasn’t like some of the Tom experiences I had heard about. His prices weren’t too bad, but don’t ask what they were cause I really do not remember. Wait I think they were $10. Something like that. So here is my picture with him….and Bo…My pictures are kind of mixed up, I sorta just pu them all together. I reckon I should have put them together in the order I met them. Once again I wore my 01 mask all day! :p ha…It is just too much fun hiding…

    mmbq87.jpg

So after visiting Mr. Wopat, we headed to Mr. Best’s line. It wasn’t too too long. We waited about an hour and a half. His policies were the same. No picture taking, you couldn’t get your picture with him unless you bought artwork. His prices weren’t bad, unless you wanted a picture with him. $5 for an autograph, $10 for a black and white 8X10 and $15 for a color 8X10 and then he had some other stuff for sale like his book and what not. Well needless to say I now own another James Best print. It was called “Pedal to the Metal†and it is a police car chasing the General. It will go well with “The Ghost of the General Lee†print I got last year. But I got the cutest picture with him, I was sooo happy with it. He was super nice. I had him sign my Hazzard Homecoming shirt, and he said that he hadn’t seen them until that morning and thought they was really cool. They were Ben and Alma’s idea. Also what they did was give all the cast a shirt and then they signed it for each other to take with them. I thought that was really cool. I told him that I loved the movie and what not. Mama then asked him about knowing Chuck Connors and John Wayne and all of them. His face just lit up and he got all excited that someone knew him besides the Sheriff on the Dukes. At least that is what it seemed like. He told her that they were just great, etc, etc. He done over 200 westerns. She said that we had been seeing him a lot on the older shows and westerns that they played on tv. He said that was just really wonderful. He was smiling ear to ear. So he finished signing my stuff and I got my picture with him. And before I left he asked me again about my scrapbook page (I made scrapbook pages for everyone to sign, they didn’t get finished because I didn’t have time, so I explained to each one that they were unfinished so they didn’t wander why they was signing a strip of paper on a bigger sheet of paper) Anyways I had all my stuff and was ready to leave for the next person and Mr. Best stopped me and pointed back to my page and asked me what else I was going to do to it. I told him that his name would go up at the top in letter stickers, and then I would put like the Hazzard County police car on it, and sheriff stickers and what not. Then he asked if I was going to put a picture on it and I told him actually the one we just took will go on it. He thought that was neat and said it sounds like it will turn out really cool. He was super nice. I would love just to sit down for an hour or so and talk to him. So I shook his hand and told him it was an absolute pleasure meeting him, etc etc.

  4. My 2012 Hazzard Homecoming Experience…

I GOT MY HUG FROM JOHN SCHNEIDER!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAWWWW!!!

    o7rmdh.jpg

    Anyways…

WOW….JUST WOW~!! My Hazzard Homecoming experience this year was just completely and totally awesomer than awesome…(ok asweomer ain’t a word but just go with it)

Y’all know me so this may be extremely long and drawn out, but talking I can have it spit out in like 2 minutes because I talk so fast about it because I am in such a good mood and had such a great time.

These three days were absolutely amazing. It was like I was really transported back in time to a simpler place. I was really taken to Hazzard County. There is just a certain peace this place and surrounding area had. There was so much space, and it was so beautiful. It was really laid back and wonderful. I didn’t even think about reality these three days. Everything left, even the constant headache I had for about a month vanished into thin air. All worries, concerns, problems, everything just left. I was happy, truly happy. I dunno what it was, but it was amazing. That may not make sense, and anyone that was there may have not felt like that, but for me that is what it was like. It doesn’t even begin to describe what it was really like for me, but it is a start….

Ok the in a nut shell version is: It was awesome, no matter how much fun and how great it was last year, this year was 1000 times better and then some! I really do not know what to complain about, or say was negative….well it was pricey…quite pricey….5 here, 10 there, 15 here again, 50 there adds up really really quick!! But looking back, it was completely and totally worth it, even if my mama does think I am crazy (Hey they do call me Krazy Katie!! :p) Oh and one other thing I will complain about is the ill-informed, asinine lady who cussed me and a few other people out. If you wanna hear about that you have to read the full story. I did hear a few more foul mouths than I did last year, I was disappointed with that but really I can look over that. That is really all I can think right now that is negative…well minus the sunburn..ouchy…And that I forgot to ask Sonny (Enos) for a hug. 8( Hopefully there will be a next time. But like I said I had an awesome time, even with my experience line jumping wasn’t even a problem this year. I was soo surprised. I thought it was sooo much better than last year…and they were all there too! I heard a lot of people complaining about everything in general, I just figured they were nuts and went on my way…I better run after saying that. I got to meet the whole cast, and enjoy all the other activities as well. If this does happen to be the last year, I went out with a bang….I HAD AN AMAZING TIME!! See that was short..kinda….

So here is the long version….Might wanna grab some popcorn and a drink! :p

Ok, so I actually did not think that I was going to Hazzard Homecoming this year. After Betsy (our car) died and had to have a heart transplant and all that fun stuff I figured it was completely and totally out of the question. But I was still going to get to see Cooter at the fair. And when I saw him and asked him about it, he did not sound hopeful for one next year, I told my parents and grandma…etc etc etc….Long story short, they figured there won’t be another one with the entire cast so we would go. This was three or four days before it was to begin. I didn’t believe it until Thursday when I bought my tickets. Even then I wasn’t sure if it was just a dream. So that Monday or Tuesday or something I seen that they were going to have a red carpet premier of “The Return of the Killer Shrews.” On Cooter’s Place on Facebook, they were having a contest where if you shared that post you would be entered in a chance to win two tickets for the Friday night premier. Well I figured I never win anything so I would enter it just for the heck of it. Well I’m not sure what day it was, I think it was Thursday, they picked the winners. I logged into Facebook and a friend I met last year at Homecoming had posted what Cooter’s place had said, and who won. And what do you know! I WON!...well me and some other feller named Josh!! Woo Hoo…So we had just decided we were going Saturday morning and leaving Sunday night. But after winning the tickets we decided to go down Friday and see this movie. I hadn’t seen the trailer for it yet, I had read about it when they first announced it. So I went to youtube and watched the trailer and thought “Oh my gosh, this is going to be terrible…Do I really wanna sit through this…how much crap is going to be in it…The shrews are even worse than the dogs with rugs on them…But I will give it a chance.” And hey all the cast was going to be there except for Tom.

So we left Friday morning about 9. On the way there we was coming off an exit and on the main road there was one of those pretty cars we all know and love called The General Lee. So we followed for quite a while, I kinda figured they was going the same place we was. We followed them until they got hungry and stopped at Arby’s then we continued on our way. It was fun, I think even a few times they set Dixie off. I took a ton of pictures following them. Though I must say they had a wee lead foot at times. But hey if I was driving that car, I would too!! Anyways we got down there around one. We found the theatre and no one was in it. The lady who owned the country store came and talked to us and told us they were going to have a pre-red carpet cookout with all kinds of food, so she was handing out flyers…She said the theatre lady would be back later. So we talked to a feller who was standing there for a while. Then we walked around town, Washington Virginia has a whole two streets! We went and talked to some other folks, and then the theatre people came back and we talked to them. So a few hours went by, and folks were beginning to sit up chairs and wait in line so we did the same thing. Time came to buy tickets (thought I didn’t have to thanks to that contest, I just hope it was legit) So we got our tickets and we only had to wait another hour or so before they showed up for the red carpet premier party. So once they got their red carpet sit up, we all went over to stand by it. We was right there at the beginning of the ropes so we would get a good view (We had a great view until they brought the police in to stand there 8( ) We waited and waited. Then Miss Alma and Catherine drove by stopped and chatted a minute and said they were going to go get Ben. So we waited again…Folks kept bringing their General’s through town, and everyone would get excited and then BAM it ain’t one of the cast.

So during this time the feller who was with the microphone and the tuxedo t-shirt (he said they wanted someone without an orange t-shirt and he was the only one with a tuxedo shirt) he kept talking and making it interesting. Then he said lets play a game to see who came the furthest. So he asked people to volunteer where they came from and quite a few raised their hand. So he pointed to the lady wearing a hat and said “you in the hat…where are you from?” She replies: “Germany” He was like uhh well that kind of ends the game…you win that one! So everyone talked a little more, and then finally the cast came. They brought them in in the General’s, Dixie, and the patrol cars. I recorded it, mama took pictures. Here are a few pictures mama took.

    10879l1.jpg

So within a few minutes, it was time to go in the theatre. We all went in and sat down. Mama and I sat in the back, which now I wish we had sat closer to the front. Everyone came in and got up on stage, they all talked and told about the movie. Mr. Best explained that 50 years ago he was in the original, and he decided that he wanted to make a sequel...and so he got John and Rick together and they made a movie. They just wanted to have fun, and that is what they did. He said the original was sooo bad, they wanted to make it fun again. So after everyone got to talk that wanted to say something they began showing the movie. Oh the movie…what can I say about the movie…it was not as horrible as I thought it would be, I actually loved it. I really hope he puts it on DVD to sell sometime. I would love to have a copy of it. They had a lot of in-corporations of other movies in it which helped make it so funny. They also took clips from the original movie and put in it, which made it that Mr. Best’s character was having flash backs. It was really neat. Some of the things that stick out the most are:

Stayed tuned for the next post....I typed too much and so it wouldn't all fit...just give me a few minutes to get this all posted....I also have a few videos I would like to share but YouTube was being extremely sluggish today so that will have to wait until another day.

  5. So he sat down and we started talking. I told him I really enjoyed the show and homecoming last year…etc etc etc. He signed my scrapbook page, and my flyer about this year’s homecoming, and my General Lee shirt. While he was signing he was singing and talking away like he had known me his whole life. It was probably a good five minutes, to most that doesn’t seem like long, but usually if you get a minute to talk your lucky. He was super nice. I asked him about a Homecoming next year, he said he really didn’t know. It just takes so much and things have really been hard. He was sure. They would have to see. He said that if they don’t do it, then maybe someone else would. Time would tell. So that didn’t sound very hopeful. I told him well if I start walking now I might make it to the one this year. He just started laughing and said well maybe you can catch a ride and point pack over his shoulder at the couple that own the General and winked. So then I got my picture with him, and shook his hand and said good bye. I didn’t want to leave…

    1am9d.jpg

I had sooo much fun, and then I went and rode some of the rides…That was fun too. But I had a great experience this time. I am soo grateful that I got to go, and had such a wonderful time. Sorry for this being so long, I could probably write more, but I won’t….I will have to post a few more pictures later….Or in a few days….when I get back to good internet!! :p

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I didn’t know where else to put it.

  6. Wow!! I am still high on cloud 9 right now from last night….It was sooooo awesome!! I promise I will try not to ramble and make my story uncomprehendable ( Is that even a word, spell check is telling me no!)….But I wouldn’t count on it…So anyways I reckon I will start from the beginning….

So it was finally Thursday, and I was dead tired…I had been up for a couple days straight making a cookbook for my grandma for our family reunion in about 3 weeks. She needed it done ASAP so copies could be made. So I was slow to start and didn’t make it up to the fair until about 12. I didn’t even get my ‘01’s on my nails yet. I was still waiting for the orange to dry. So we walked around, and around. I was going to ride the rides, but there was only three that would allow single riders, and I didn’t have anyone to ride with until later that night. So I continued walking around, a couple hours had passed now. And then I heard someone say “oh that’s cool†and the other person said “What?†They said “That Dukes Car†Hahaha I lost track of everything and turned around…low and behold there was that there pretty orange car we know and love called the General Lee!! It had just arrived, just as I got over to it, they made the announcement that it had arrived.

Along with the General Lee was Dave’s Mobile Dukes Museum. It was this little trailer type thing that was filled with Dukes of Hazzard Memorabilia. It was soo cool. It was a little space, but it was packed. I took pictures, and I will have to post them somewhere later. It was really interesting. I wish I had looked longer, but there was a good many people going through it. The couple that owned the General was really nice. I talked to the girl, her name was Jill, gosh for probably a good hour…She loves John Schneider! She had various picture albums of 8X10’s and some of her personal pictures from different events on a table for everyone to look at. It was really neat, she had a lot of cool pictures. Right now I wish I had taken a picture of the one with John and he was holding a chicken….I had never seen it before. When everyone was talking, Alma came over and took a look at the museum and the car. Then she left to go sit things up. A little bit later here comes Cooter in the golf cart. He came to see the car and the museum. He went in and looked around for a good while. Then a whole bunch of kids came and he talked to them. It was soo great to see that. That little kids still love the Dukes and how they love meeting the cast.

The one little boy was telling Cooter “it was no wonder that them Duke Boys always got away from them cop car, cause them cop cars were always crashing and running into things, I don’t know how they got anywhere!†All the kids that went away from talking to Cooter had the biggest smile on their faces. It was like they just won the lottery. He looked like he really enjoyed everyone. I was standing there watching and listening and he looked over at me and said “Hi There! How are you doing?†I replied great and he said he liked my shirt. I had about 20 people tell me they really liked my shirt! 8) Then he asked me if I was coming to Hazzard Homecoming… I replied it was doubtful because of some circumstances (Our dear sweet Betsy, our car, decided to die about 2 weeks ago…transmission, brakes, and some other odds and ends, so right now it’s on the line if I get to go or not) But I went last year and it was a lot of fun. He said that I should come this year, the whole cast is gonna be there and it’s gonna be a whole lot of fun. I said I really wish I could, maybe next year, if they have one. He said alrighty then and asked if I was going to come to the show tonight. I said I sure was. Then it was time for him to go and he said bye to everyone. Then is when I went in the museum thingy. One other funny story. They had all these models of The General in there, including some of the oes they made black and chrome. There was a little boy about 4 who was looking at them. He pointed to the black one and said “That ain’t the General Lee, The Duke boys drove that orange one, they never drove a black thing! That ain’t right!!†it was soo cute….Then he was like, I like the orange one better anyways!!â€

So after that…or maybe it was before that…I’m really not sure, everything is kind of a jumble. But I was talking to Jill, the lady who owned the General….well half the General…I think she told someone that she owned the half that John signed, the other was her husbands. But anyways I was looking at her pictures and they had a whole bunch where they were in the General Lee, and I said I had never got to sit in a General Lee yet. So a little bit later, what do you know! They let me sit in it and get my picture taken. When she told me I could, I told her “If I could jump up and down right now without anyone asking why I would†I was ecstatic!! So I Was in the General….I got to put my hands on the wheel….hahaha you have no idea how excited I was…..So I got my picture taken. Then I talked a bit more and then I seen Cooter was signing autographs and taking pictures, so I made my way down to that building with my scrapbook page in hand…Oooo I’ll have to post a picture of that.

    2sayrh5.jpg

So we went down, and my mama had finally met up with us. We went and stood in line, probably about an hour. Then just as I was the next one in line, they cut it and said it was time for him to be in the parade. He was going through in the General. Haha he made the announcement that he would be back and stay all night if he had to to sign autographs. Then he looked at me and said “There you are again! Don’t worry I’ll get back to ya.†Then he looked at Alma and said “She was at homecoming last year†She said Oh really!! That’s cool and something else. I told her yea that he was the only one I didn’t get to see last year. She said don’t you worry, you’ll get to see him today. Just remember you was first in line and line up that way. (hahahahahahahahaha if only that worked) So I went and watched the parade. I wish my brain would have worked to realize he was in the passenger side and for me to get on that side to take pictures. But here is one, if you look close he is waving!!

    4ibrqh.jpg

So when it was over, I went back in and he came in and started singing. He sang the older songs, and I loved it! He just seemed soo happy to be up there. I remember one of the things he said, that I remember him saying at Homecoming last year was “I’m not a singer, I’m an actor….I act like I sing.†He talked in between the songs, and it was just reallt really nice. Everyone seemed to be enjoying theirselves. Everyone was tapping their toes and bouncing in their seats to the music. I took some pictures, but they didn’t turn out the best, so I recorded some. But he is a picture I liked while he was singing.

    2h51dsm.jpg

So then when his show was done, and of course the last song he sang was the good ol’ boys. 8) I loved that. I think the song I like him most singing is Rocky Top. Anyways after the show he went to sign more autographs. And of course, the people that was in the actual autograph line, got shoved backwards by the people who decided they wanted to make a new line, and so they all got in front of the original ones that were in line. So I stood there another hour. It was ok, we had people to talk to! Then finally I was the next one, he seen me and started laughing and said “There you are! I have seen you all day today, and you finally made it here!†Then he gave me a hug!! 8) WOO HOO!!

    ckpaa.jpg

Well since we can only have 4 pictures per post...I am going to finish my story in the next post... 8)

Hope everyone is having a great day!

  8. Howdy Y'all... Yep you sure are right...he is a great guy, and really awesome to meet....Gosh its been bout 4 years now (GAH! I'm gettin old!) I meet him in Pittsburgh....I had no clue where we were going, my parents said we was going to Build -A-Bear...we got there and I seen a sign that said Henry Winkler will not be appearing due to the flu...so we went up the escalator and I got to meet Shirley Pheeny (Cindy Williams) from Laverne and Shirley and Joanie (Erin Moran) from Happy Days...and this was at a car show....

Then I seen a feller with a General Lee model....so my reaction was "OH MY GOSH IS THE GENERAL LEE HERE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" And my mama was like I dunno is it? So we walked around and whatta ya know...there it is!! And guess who was standin beside it... COOTER!! I was sooo excited....Stood in line almost five hours....no thanks to everyone cuttin....

But when we got up to him he just chatted up a storm, and like Roger said, like he had been your friend for years...and he took his time and signed everything, and personalized it, and put little hearts on it. He even signed "Woof" for Flash on my one picture....Gosh he was sooo nice....I can wait till August!!! :D:D:D

  9. Howdy Y'all....I was recently told by a friend that Ben Jones would be attending a fair around me....I didn't believe her at first, cause I thought boondocky place...but then Luke attended this fair too....So I got on their facebook page, because they ain't known for keepin their website up to date, and whatta you know....He is actually gonna be there!!

Thursday August 2, 2012 at the Garrett County Agricultural Fair in Garrett County Maryland.... He will be driving a General Lee through the Farmers Parade and then later on performing with his band... 8)

Sooooo excited.....Thought I would let everyone know!

  10. I'm hoping I can make it. Though instead of renting a hotel room, I might rent an RV and see how many friends I can pack into it.

Hmm. I'll need to make more friends...

Hahahahaha... Soooooo How is that workin for ya? :p

    Hi, Redneck girl.

I just wanted to say good luck to the show Duke Fest 2012 and I'm sure you'll be with actors John Schneider, Tom Wopat and Catherine Bach and many others.

The DukesFest is the best ever!

    And you too, Brian.

:D Yeppers...I could use a John hug! :) Next year I will probably go get in Cooter's line first because ran out of time this year to see him. Unless Tom Wopat is there then I'll be in his line then my parents can stop rubbin it in they have got to see him and meet him...blah blah blah.... hahaha :) That is all I hear when I mention meetin the Duke Boys..

  11. Yea they are right...talk to the band director and go to a practice...I think you will know if you want to join after a practice. Do not let what others want interfere with what you want...But I do know from personal experience one practice did it for me...

When I was told to join the high school marching band by my advisor I thought ok that will be really cool and I will get to be in the local parades. Then they started sending the forms and information...I thought ok I will try it...I was in the percussion section...Girls were deemed to girly to play the drums so they got put on the keyboards, which I was fine with that...until they stuck me with playing the symbols...Not fun...at all...I did not like it, they did not pay any attention to the percussion section...I sat there through one song and didn't play...they never said a word or mentioned it. I did not like the music or the vibe from the group. It was an all day practice. We played for like 3 hours...3 hours banging annoying symbols together...HA.. and then watched the movie that our music was coming from. Not very productive...

I didn't like it at all... but I went...and because I went I knew what I wanted. Cause you never know until you try...and it is an interestin learning experience...Hopefully your school has a better marching band and what not than ours did. :)

  12. :D:D THIS IS GREAT!!!!! Thank you so much all of you!!

But what is not so great of me is that I just now seen this, and I thought for sure it had only been about a week since I was last on Hazzardnet, and when I logged in tonight Its been almost three weeks!!! :( I reckon I should take my nose out of them college books more often! I can't believe I missed this...Dumb English papers!! =)

Anyways thanks everyone...And Hoss you were right when I seen this I couldn't stop smiling...and still haven't!! Since I first found this place I have loved it...I think there were times I was on it probably 12 or more hours a day....I loved to read what everyone else had to say....and still do...Everyone has been almost like family and everyone is sooo nice...I could not ask to be part of a better website!! I really don't know what to say except for my face hurts from smiling =) I'm kinda speechless...ha, thats a first....but thank you all so much for being such great people!! 8)

And sorry I am a wee bit late for seeing this!!

  13. Aww Man!! There is always a little truth behind every just kidding though!! :p That was my attempt at short n sweet...it just didn't work. And Hoss yes we did have a really good time, and like I said meet some great folks....Mama loved that she got to hear John sing, she had always wanted to hear him sing!

But like I said that was just my opinion and how I seen it...there are probably other people, though none I talked to, that thought it was just perfect and things couldn't be better. But I dunno I reckon thats just how these events are.

I'm sure there are other ways for their lines and stuff, the police didn't do nothin much, we told them who was cutting and they was like ooo oh well, nothing we can do... Well uhh duh yea there is...dont let them go in the line to look then mingle in, in the first place!! They can look over heads just like everyone else.

I like that idea about the donate 5 bucks to charity if they use flash. I can understand him not wanting people to use flash because it hurt his eyes. But I can't see just a normal picture, my gosh I could stand 100 feet away and take a picture, and he would never know as long as there is no flash to hurt his eyes. But the ones that stood in front of him and used it...wow....

Somehow I think instead of stopping them, it would just raise a whole lot for charities....

But I really can't complain I got to see them all but Cooter, some folks only got to see two.

Hahaha was there too many pictures? They probably did get boring, and to think I got 400 more to post! :D I will have to wait till I get fast internet, cause dial up wont cut it...but they have more of the festival and Generals and what not in them....I just have to get them uploaded...will post link when do....

Checked out your great Facebook photos too - it must have been hot wearing that '01' mask all day

Hahahahahahahahahaha yeppers....it was extremely hot...but ya woulda thunk with that on my face, my face wouldn't be peeling off at the moment!! :p

  14. So really it was a fun time, and quite enjoyable even though me and mama got burnt like little turkeys, I’m burnt so much my freckles are peeling off!! Oh and one other thing I want to add, the people in the booths that were helping, with the exception of Rick Hurts helper, they all seemed waaay to happy to take the money, it was almost like “Ok now I got your money, NOW GIT!!” I talked to some other folks and they felt the same way. So I don’t know, I know they would save a lot of time if they would limit the items to get signed to 2 or 3….cause there were people who had 2 garbage bags of stuff to get signed. But even with all that kind of stuff overall it was an enjoyable first experience for me, even though I really missed a hug from John! =P Like I said there were flaws but those can be worked on, and some of them that is just what happens. But I sure do hope and pray they have one next year and maybe they can get Mr. Tom I want nothing to do with the Dukes of Hazzard Wopat there next year. For about 5 minutes I thought he flew in on a helicopter and was gonna surprise everyone, it was across the field and I took a picture, the first one looked like him but the more pictures I took we established it wasn’t him. This place in Sperryville was great, just Beautiful, parking was quite the walk, but It was free and in the field! It was really nice, they put all the kids activities at the bottom of the field where the parents could look down and keep an eye on them which was nice. But I had a lot of fun!!

Mama had to laugh cause she said when you think about it, we spent less on out motel room than we did at Rosco's booth!! It was a very family firendly event....it was the first place I have found that I heard no cussin, it wasn't the f word every other word...and my gosh the folks had manners!!!! I loved it..... But like I said event was family friendly had something for everyone...cars....actors....BMX bike tricks....wrestlin....Kids stuff....etc..etc......but for me some of the prices wasn't family friendly especially if you got more than one kid and drove any distance....

Ok so that was my long winded story that I’m sure everyone is asleep by now if you actually read it. I have the tendency to make the most interesting thing the most boring thing ever!

I got a lot of pictures, I have some uploaded on facebook, but not all of them so if you wanna look at the ones I have uploaded here is the link:

    http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2335752477951.134890.1374015528&l=61022b6fbd&type=1

It should work….I will upload some on here to the Hazzard Homecoming gallery…if y’all want…and then I have a lot more to add to facebook!! =] Ok I reckon I’ve talked enough…thanks for listenin!!

Sorry there was soooo much! Hope it all made some sense...

  15. So then there was Sunday….and everyone we had heard the day before was coming from Bo. So we got there bout 8…the gates opened at 9:30…and hahahaha instead of everyone peacefully walking to John’s line, it was a mad dash who could get in line first. So my mama married me to some guy so Id stick with him the rest of the day….I was supposed to keep up with him but he had long legs! I was only three steps behind him but then I lost my footing so I ended up like 20 people behind him…But he was really nice…I wish I had gotten his name. But everyone took off running, folks sent their kids to run, and lesson learned the hard way, don’t run with a chair, it really slows you down!! I felt like an idiot, but it was either run and wait an hour, or walk and wait 5 hours….All the folks that wasn’t running and had sent someone else, was yelling “Run Forrest…RUN!!!†They cut the line within 10 minutes….500 people was already in it. Luckily I was like 100…..They also had a special needs line, which was great. But there was one thing…Dear Mr. John really needs to learn it ain’t about money. Cause that sure is what it seemed to be. Sure he was super nice…kinda….and was all smiles….But you see everything of John’s was $20….If you wanted a picture 20 bucks, if you wanted an autograph 20 bucks, if you wanted a picture with him 20 bucks, if you had something of yours you wanted signed 20 bucks….For each and everything 20 bucks….highway robbery to me…but that’s just me….The one thing a lot of people had a problem with is that he charged the people in the special needs line to get a picture with him….Yea he shouldn’t have done that, least in my opinion along with some other folks. Another problem is he charged the first 100 people to get their picture with him, then when we got to me, he told the guy in front of me that was the last picture he was doing, we was already in the tent so mama asked if he would take one with me, he didn’t charge, but I got my picture with him by the skin of my teeth, I was the last one, he said no more…So an hour later I looked back at the tent and he was doing posed pictures again, and most likely charging. I was majorly disappointed though that I was unable to get my hug, because everything became really rushed for like a half hour but then it was back to normal. I was really lookin forward to my Bo hug!! So my experience with John was ok….This was also the line where I listened to them bash Daisy and the other actors….

Then next I went to see Enos…We waited bout an hour….I think his pictures were $10, and an autograph was $5, and a picture with him was $10. He was super nice, and sooo sweet…He looks almost exactly the same only older. He still has that crazy smile… 8D Sooo nice… The experience there was great! No trouble or anything, well there was once in line when we was standing there and people would go through the line, so you would move a little to let them through. Well the one time I stepped back to let 3 people through, and I turned around to say something to mama and when I turned back around, those folks didn’t go through the line, they just plopped themselves right there in front of me, plain as day. But I got to meet Enos.

Then we went to see Cletus…His line wasn’t so long. We waited no problems. His pictures were $10….an autograph was $5, and a picture with him was free with purchase, if no purchase then it was $5. He was really nice and sweet to!! I was all flustered though…Cause I asked if I would get something else autographed, and the lady that was helping, just with the most serious face, said “No you can’t, we are all out of them†I was soo confused it wasn’t funny…and then she started laughin, and the lady behind us in line said that my face was priceless…But she was really nice, and then I fell over the table going back to get my picture with him. It was great….But I reckon you had to be there.

So after that we heard Cooters line was cut, and he had been gone since 12, and said he would be back, but the line was still there. We took all of our stuff to the car, and then went and got in Cooters line hoping that he would come back out. This was the first time during the weekend that we got to see the singers on the stage. So Cooter still hadn’t came back, it had been like 45 minutes since I got there…the other folks had been waiting since 12, it was like 5:30….Then Cooter came out on stage, and sung a song. Then he brought Ol John out…and well the best thing ever…John started singin…I LOVE his voice…I took recordings, Id like to put them on youtube, but I don’t know if he would have something to say about that…So I guess I won’t fer the moment. He sung “You Ain’t Seen the Last of me first†And then between the songs and what not John and Ben would just go back and forth between each other with jokes. The one time Ben put his arm around John and Ben said that he “had known him since he was like 16.†John said, :The only difference between then and now is Ben used to put him arm around me as a friend, now he does so he can stand.†Ben said,†well we all need supportâ€, and they both just started laughin. Then after another song Ben said that “he was proud of John, manily because he taught John everything he knows†Then John said, “Yea and what we did the rest of the afternoon I don’t know!†They just had a really good time it seemed. Then John sung “I’ve Been Around Enough to Know†Then he sung “Country Girls.†He had his “Bo Duke†shirt on, and his P90X tank top on under that, the Bo shirt was unbuttoned and he went to take that off and all the women in that audience went WILD! Just a screamin and hollerin….and so he kept it on but then they started hollerin more and he took it off, and hahahaha they really went crazy with him and that tank top!! Then him and Ben talked some. Then him and Ben sung The National Anthem of Tennessee…AKA Rocky Top…and John played the gee-tar. After that John sung “I’ve been around Enough to Know†In which his lyrics went something like this:

You know you shouldn’t be here… *Talks* So go away!*What am I supposed to do, don’t you know I found a new love, *talks: it’s so sad* I’m trying to be true…. Didn’t you say you fed Rover, how does he keep hangin on, poor dogs no longer moving, please give that canine a bone, what’s a memory like you,*talks I had to do something* doing in a love like this.

Then he finished it the way the actual song was. Then he sung a jazzy soundin song, that I didn’t get recorded because my memory card was full and my batteries died…but then I switched cameras with mama and she took pictures and I recorded on here.

They did a bluegrass song, and after that Cooter started to bring them all up on stage, that was great, it looked like they was havin soo much fun and was sooo happy to see each other, I am so glad I recorded it, and so did almost every other person there. When they brought Rosco out, he had a song, a clean family friendly song, with no music. I think it went something like this:

I got married last Friday my little wife was right there beside me, and my friends were all gone, and we were all alone side by side, we was so happily wed when she got ready for bed bed…her teeth and her hair she placed on a chair, one glass eye so shiny two hearing aids so small, and then she took her one leg off and placed it on a chair by the wall, I stood there broken hearted the best part of my girl had departed, so I slept on the chair there was more of here there, side by side.

Then they introduced Daisy, and by that time they had all made it on stage, they Sung the Good Ol Boys, and Cooter said his thanks, they posed for pictures, and they played the music till they had to leave. It was great, a really fun time.

So I went back to Cooters line and I was still in the same place when I had left it and all the folks who had been waitin since 12 were still there. But then like 50 people came and got behind us, so when he got off stage those 50 new people who just got in line rushed up to the fence and had him sign instead of waiting till he came back to the tent. Then everyone started pushing forward so they got the police to push people backwards and create a barrier around him and some of the folks that hadn’t waited in line. All of them that had waited since noon got pushed back and everyone that had just jumped line got his autograph…so that wasn’t right, or fair to the folks who had stood there all day for nothing. So I didn’t get to see Cooter =( Maybe next year.

  16. First off...This is what happens after a Hazzard Homecoming, and you've been cooked like a goose....

    2aj5279.jpg

    You die...lmao

Anyways....I was sooo glad that hotel had a pool...Thanks Brian for recommending it...it was a nice little place to stay, it actually looked like my grandma's house inside!! And there was this great little restaurant called the Brookside Restaurant....The rest of the time we had to eat dollar menu from Mickey D's cause Hazzard Homecoming ate all our money!! But it was nice...

    My Hazzard Homecoming Experience…..

For those of you who don’t wanna read my long winded drawn out story of everything that happened…here it is in a nutshell….Sorta….And then comes my long winded story of what happened….

But before y’all read this…in what I say…I mean no disrespect to the actors themselves or the people helping….eveything I say is how I saw it and how I felt about it, and my own personal opinions. I mean no disrespect at all…. So here goes….

    Short Version:

After a few hours there… was sad/disappointed to see that the family friendly, good moral, entertaining show had been turned into something just to get money and not really care bout the fans who got them where they got… It was basically just highway robbery at a few of the lines….Because honestly that is what it seemed like. There was a good many fans that I ain’t sure how they called themselves fans…all they did was dis the cast, dis the show, and for a half hour probably they went on about how huge Daisy had gotten and how bad she looked…from the way they went on you woulda thought she weight 800 lbs….She looked Normal!!! Then all the ones that cut line…then the police wouldn’t do a thing to stop them….the folks that waited in line for fours hours got jipped outta meeting some of the cast because of ones that jumped line….Uhhh oh this doesn’t look like a short version….Anyways don’t get me wrong I had an AWESOME time….even though I got roasted like a turkey….but it was fun….I did meet some great people…and getting to meet the cast was a great honor….They all seemed nice…I didn’t get the chance to meet Cooter though…..Waited in line…..but here that didn’t get you anywhere….But even though there were a lot of flaws….the second day when the whole cast got on stage…well John sung some songs…like 4 or 5…which was AWESOME….I love his voice…..and then the whole cast got on stage sung…talked….had a good ol time….I tried recordin it all….but in order to get a good recordin I woulda hat to take peoples hats…cut their puffy hair off….etc…but m sure the folks behind me wanted to do the same thing to me…..But when they were all on state they looked sooo happy and like they was havin a really good time. So that in a way made up for all the crap….It had its flaws but those can be worked on….all in all it was a really good time…and the place they had it….was just BEAUTIFUL!! I loved it….I hope they do have it agin next year….and in the same place…since its been way down south for so long…Sperryville will give the folks up north a better chance at getting to see them…. But it was a really good time!!

And then here are some of the pictures of me and the cast…my face is blotted out cause there is no need to break the website or computer… hahaha ….That and it annoys everyone…

    1179uz5.jpg

Ok that was my short version…..hahaha sorry….Now here is my long version…

So we left Friday morning….That way we could go to Staunton Va….home of The Statler Brothers…then go down some of The Blue Ridge Parkway and back up Skyline Drive. These places were beautiful….the Blue Ridge mountains in places were just breathtaking. So quick story bout this…I was driving back up the Parkway and there was something in the road, I wasn’t sure what it was, but I figured I was gonna hit it cause It wasn’t moving very fast….so I went past it, it was a snake…a rattle snake….So I put the car in reverse and backed up the road till I got beside it…and talk bout a sound I never wanna hear agin…that snake was just a rattling….anyways I got the camera out and snapped some pictures of it before it got in the grass and you couldn’t see it no more. I figured that would be my only chance to get a picture of a rattler in the wild that close from the safety of my car….Now I wish Id thrown a gummy bear or something at it so it would have coiled up and turned around….But I didn’t think about that until down the road. Then we started onto Skyline Drive, and I had stopped so mama could take a picture of one of the signs, bout that time I started hollerin “Take the bear, Take the bear!!†She was like “what Bear?†I said “The one behind the sign you are taking!†Sure nough there was a little baby bear cub turning over the rocks and eating the grub. No more than 5 feet from the car, so we got some good pictures of him…then on down the road a mommy deer and little baby deer with spots came jumping out of the woods, so I stopped and we took pictures. Then a couple different times we got pictures of more deer and more bambi’s.

So we got drove back up through, and we was at Sperryville, ready for the next day!! Hazzard Homecoming. We got there at probably 8, the gates wasn’t supposed to open until 9…but they was already parking people, and so we went and parked and stood in line, there was already a line forming. We wasn’t that far back, So finally the gates opened, I went to James Best line first, because I haven’t seen to many events that he has been siging at, so I didn’t figure I would get the chance agin to meet him so that is the line we got in. We was about 80 back or so…wasn’t that bad. Took about45 minutes to get through….I was soo excited I got to meet Rosco P. Coltrain that I really couldn’t do anything but smile…..Its funny when I have a sober face you can see where my laugh lines aren’t burnt because they never seen sun. I was too busy smiling…..Anyways everyone was snapping pictures of Mr. Best, and then the cops came and told everyone they couldn’t, and then we started to read the sign there that no photos of Mr. Best were allowed. So everyone started sneaking them….Id liked to slapped some of the people that used flashed, because that is probably the main reason he wouldn’t allow any pictures, because when he did and said no flash people used flash anyways and he got tired of it. But I did get some of him that was good. So his autograph stuff….I think pictures like 8x10’s were $20….If you had something to get signed it was $5…..and the only way you could get a picture of you and him if you bought one of his paintings, or if you bought one of the copies of his paintings. The copies were $50. So basically a picture with Mr. Best was $50. I went to get my picture with the cast, so I bought one of the copies. It was The Ghost of The General Lee….I liked it, now I just have to get a frame for it. Also he would only sign a car part if you made a minimum donation of $25….it would be donated to some pet shelter….I don’t remember the name off hand. He was nice, he didn’t say much, course neither did I, cause I could only smile, but I got to shake his hand…. He looked really tired, and seemed like it was hard to sign all that stuff. But he had a smile through it all.

Then after that, since I hadn’t met Daisy yet, I decided to get in her line….ha now that was interesting. I stood there in line from 11:00am until 5:00pm to meet her. There was two lines, there was a special needs line, which I think was great they need to do that, but they need to run them through first and then the other people. The only problem with the special needs line, was that people without special needs was getting in it, and seeing her a whole lot sooner. Then in the regular line there were people who would go through, blend in with someone and stay there. The one lady came and stood there didn’t look at anyone or nothing just walked right in line. One of the folks we was talking to said something in a loud whisper that the lady who had just made her way in front of us moved on towards the back. So we stood, and stood, and eventually sat. I was lucky to be in line with really nice folks. Then it started sprinkling, and thundering. Just as we got about 10 feet from the tent it started to down pour….Everyone that didn’t have an umbrella looked like drowned rats. Then just as me and the group of folks I was in line with got to the beginning of the tent. The people came in the little golf cart to take her away to the stage. Just as we got there, the lady had said you’re probably going to have to leave. But just as they was getting ready to take her to the stage…It down poured again, it started lightning and thundering. They couldn’t have the stage show with lightning. Thank God it did, because if it hadn’t she would have went to the stage show and we all would have stood I line for absolutely nothing, but did meet some new friends….Who said rain wasn’t a good thing!! So got there, and Daisy’s 8x10 pictures I think were $15 and $10….and a picture with her was either $5 or $10. She was super nice, and she thanked everyone for waiting in line. While we were in line her two daughters brought around free water and candy and slim Jims and necklaces. So that was really nice of them. So I got my picture with her, even though I looked like a drowned rat. The lady behind me in line, her name was actually Daisy Mae.

So by that time it was basically over with through the night. I watched Cooter sing a few songs, and then everyone but Mr. Best got up on stage and sung Good Ol Boys….and it was nice….The hot air balloon rides didn’t get to happen. And they said they probably wouldn’t be able to set the fireworks off. So we left, and as we was going down the highway up in the air there was fireworks! Gosh they were awful pretty…So I assume that they were from Hazzard Homecoming.

  17. Wow...thanks y'all for all the information...Though Brian when I first read it I was reading it on my phone and it would only show one post at a time. And the first thing I read was about how you didn't want to give the name out of the motel you stayed at and then you never did, and I was there thinkin oh great...I have no idea where to stay or get reservations, absolutely no idea...I'm gonna get stuck in the middle of no where sleeping in the car along side a road!! But then I went to the next post and that helped me out a lot...thank you sooo much for all the information and it gave me a chuckle too!! =]

. I just gotta decide NOW if I'm going....it's kinda been doubtful onconna health and the distance, but

Now I don't know if everything is ok, but from that statement I hope you are doing well and are feeling better. =)

And Lord willing and if the creek don't rise (This place isn't prone to flooding is it?) I'm going to Hazzard Homecoming...well me and mama....I got our tickets the other day. The Hillside Motel is all booked up fer Saturday, but they have a couple openings for Sunday. We will probably stay a few extra days to explore and take pictures!

    Though from what you said....

They don't like Dukes of Hazzard people, or Yankees, especially both
I ain't gonna be very welcomed down in that neck of the woods!! :escape: hahaha Oh well...I think it will be ok...I hope....

Bo's Belly Barn...that sounds interestin enough...I think we may go there just cause of the name!! 8)

But it sounds like y'all had a TON of fun....and did a lot of fun things.....and possibly some questionable ones. ;) I think this is gonna be a fun trip...and pictures...OF COURSE PICTURES!!! I always take pictures....so when I'm 90 I can look back and hopefully remember all the good times!! I just bought a brand new 4GB memory card for this event...and mama bought an 8GB memory card for it....but we usually have a competition on who can take the best pictures!! But..

Take lots, and lots, of pictures ya'll....these are the moments you can't replace.

    I couldn't agree more myself...well put!!

Ok Thank you agin for all the information and recomendations yall, I really really appreciate it. I can't wait till the 13th and 14th!

Is anyone on Hazzardnet attendin this event??

  18. Howdy Y'all!! Hope everyone is doin good.... :D

I aint quite sure where to post this at, so I hope here is ok...I just have a couple questions about the Hazzard Homecoming I thought someone might know the answer to or inform me on a little more than I know.

So I've looked at the flyers on Cooters Place website and on facebook, and all they say is Sperryville Virginia. Does anyone know an adress of the place in Sperryville it is going to be at? Or is Sperryville such a small town we will be able to find it no matter what? Can anyone tell me about Sperryville, because I'm not finding much on the web....is it a big town or small town??

Also another question...sorry if these are dumb but I don't know... Motels and Hotels near there...that aren't like 100 bucks a night....When I looked them up all I could find was really expensive Inns and Bed and Breakfasts...So if anyone could point me in the direction of motels and hotels if you could I would be greatly appreciative!! :)

Basically any information would be appreciated. Like I said I'm not findin out much about this place....it could be I'm just looking in the wrong places....But thanks for anything you can let me know!! :)

But here is the write up for the movie on the website:

    THE KILLER SHREWS ARE BACK,

A TV Reality Show hires CAPTAIN THORNE SHERMAN (James Best) and his boat to cargo supplies to the deserted offshore island they're using as a filming location. Thorne would have normally refused the job because he's been to that island before and stills sees it in his nightmares. Unfortunately, he needs the money and he's not getting much business these days. Together with his first mate ROOK (Rick Hurst), they sail - to a place Thorne Sherman never wanted to see again as long as he lived; the island of the KILLER SHREWS.

As the TV crew and two-fisted animal expert JOHNNY RENO (John Schneider) shoot their reality show, some of the cast and crew go missing, attacked and eaten in a bloody feeding frenzy by strange creatures. But tough as nails Producer STELLA, sleazy Director WILLARD and manipulative Writer LENORA couldn't care less about the human cost. They are ruthlessly focused on getting their show in the can, regardless of the body count. Only cute young camera operator MICKEY (Jennifer Lyons) and her on-again off-again boyfriend SAM grow concerned about their vanished friends. And Captain Thorne grows uneasy. Only he knows that the island holds hidden danger. Only he knows why people are dying. Once again, the place is crawling with giant Killer Shrews, the result of a 50 year old experiment gone terribly wrong. And time is running out to get off the island before they all turn into bloody Shrew bait.
