MaryAnne
The news item you link to is valid, however, I believe what MSN is doing is they're going to offer premium services and what not with their emails. Yahoo already does this. They still have free accounts or you can pay for email to get more storage space and more spam filter crap. According to the article you link, Hotmail will remain a free service. Now, as for the email you got about MSN closing down and asking people to forward some message to 15 other MSN users in order to keep their account is complete baloney! This is nothing more than another attempt at a long standing internet hoax that's been going around the various internet providers for the past five years....http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/overload.aspYour message specifically is mentioned here...http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/petition/im.htm

MaryAnne
Don't sweat it. 8) We certainly don't discourage public service announcements that might effect the folks that visit HNet. I've found the Snopes site to be very helpful in debunking a lot of the hoaxes and stuff that come through email and separating out the real from the phoney.
