Plot Summary

When Lulu's car breaks down two weeks after Boss had promised to fix it, she decides that she's had enough of being taken for granted. After leaving a note for Boss, she temporarily moves in with the Dukes. What Lulu doesn't know is that a trio of criminals have been watching her, and they kidnap her and demand a ransom from Boss. The Dukes manages to find the kidnappers' hideout, but they change their plans and take off with Lulu.

Commentary

Trivia

  • The amusement park seen in the chase at the end is Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, near Santa Clarita.
  • Chris Mulkey (Billy Ray) returned as Sharp in The Haunting of J.D. Hogg.
  • Annie O'Donnell reprises her role as Gussie Peabody at the telephone company (blink and you'll miss it). She previously appeared in Ding, Dong, the Boss is Dead.
  • Shanna Reed (Anna Lisa) went on to play the lead role of Polly Cooper in Major Dad.
  • The letters on the General's license plate change from the red of previous shows to black.
  • This is the first of five episodes directed by Tom Wopat.

Bloopers

  • When Rosco is chasing the Dukes towards Sheep Hollow, he hits a bush and his hood pops up, but when he gets out to close the hood, the bush has gone.
  • When Luke uses binoculars to look at the trailer, his view is exactly the same size as when Jesse looked without them.
  • When Boss tries to pay the ransom at Sheep Hollow, the long shots show someone much slimmer than Lulu as the hostage.

Quotes

  • As the repercussions of Lulu's leaving note sink in:
    Boss: "No wife."
    Rosco: "No sister."
Boss and Rosco together: "No dinner."
