Plot Summary

Jesse starts a fake fire

When Boss fires Clarence Stovall from the bank one day before he's due to retire after 30 years' service, Clarence steals $30,000 to make up for the pension which Boss cheated from him. On his way out of town, Clarence calls in at the Duke Farm and tells them what he's done. Jesse persuades him to put the money back before Boss knows it's missing, which means robbing the bank in reverse.

Trivia

• This is one of two episodes written by Fred Freiberger, with the first being Route 7-11. Both episodes feature a lead character called Stovall who's been cheated out of a large sum of money (Dewey Stovall lost his at a rigged casino), but no connection between the two men is ever mentioned.
• The fire truck appears to be the same one that was donated by Hughie in The Return of Hughie Hogg.

Bloopers

• When Rosco is driving Boss to check if his bank has been robbed, he drives right past the bank to the other side of the square. Also, in the same shot, Boss is sat next to Rosco, but he should be in the back seat because Flash is in the front. When they do stop at the bank, Boss gets out of the correct door.
• When Bo and Luke drive back to collect Clarence Stovall near the end of the episode, they unnecessarily drive around the square, right past the building which is supposed to be on fire, but there's no sign of the fire, the fire truck or any fire fighters.
