Plot Summary
Mary Lou Pringle asks the Dukes to help her sell her family estate. Unfortunately, a pair of silver thieves are using the basement of the mansion to melt down their loot, and have rigged the house to make it appear haunted, putting off prospective buyers. After Boss falls victim to the theives, Bo and Luke become chief suspects.

Trivia
- Tammy Wynette performs Rocky Top after being caught in Boss' Celebrity Speed Trap.
- Andrew Robinson (Billy Joe) played the Scorpio Killer in Dirty Harry. He returned to Hazzard as Pruitt in The Treasure of Soggy Marsh.
- According to Rick Hurst in the 20th Anniversary Hazzard County Barbeque, Sorrell Booke and Andrew Robinson (Billy Joe) rehearsed their lines in Japanese (Rick misremembered his name as Andrew Johnson).
- The haunted house is actually only a couple of doors away from Boss' house, but cleverly dressed to make it look isolated and run-down.
Bloopers
- The signs on the thieves' van disappear as they hold up Boss at gunpoint, but reappear for the following chase.
- The melting point of silver is 961.78 °C (1763.2 °F), so it's unlikely that the thieves would want to place items in the cauldron with their bare hands.
- The height of the flatbed trailer that Rosco drives under changes between shots. When the Dukes avoid it, it's quite low to the ground, but seconds later it's high enough to only slice the roof off the patrol car. In the later shots, the rear wheels are hidden by bushes to disguise whatever was used to raise them.
- The map which Boss is looking at when Rosco sticks a pin in his finger is clearly mirrored. It's actually a map of an area around Sherwood/Wilsonville, just south of Portland, OR..
