The Duke patriarch. Said to have had all ten commandments under his long johns (according to the Balladeer), and his word was law. A widower, he often said that if he didn't have Bo, Luke and Daisy around, he wasn't sure what he would have done after his wife passed on. He raised his nephews and niece with a lot of love, a little of the Bible, and plenty of common sense. Often seen wearing faded denim overalls, a beige shirt, and red hunting cap. He drove a white 1975 Ford F-150 pick up truck which received its fair share of dents and dings from the boys if General Lee was out of commission.

Country singer Willie Nelson played Uncle Jesse in the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie. He was also the only one of the lead actors to reprise their role in the follow-up TV movie, The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning.
