Doc Appleby was Hazzard's resident physician, who we only saw sporadically. However, no other doctor can say that they arrived to help a women give brith to triplets in an orange stock car with welded doors, after jumping over creeks and rivers to get there! Doc Appleby was soft spoken and kind hearted. He was what you expected in a country doctor, whether he was treating one of the Dukes or a young orphan boy.
In 7 of his 8 appearances, Doc Appleby was played by Parley Baer, but for some reason he was played by Elmore Vincent in Dear Diary. It seems odd to change the actor when we'd already seen other doctors in Hazzard.
