Plot Summary

Coy and Vance are hijacked while delivering a van full of antiques for some friends who've moved to Loomis. Boss thinks it will be easy to frame the Dukes for the robbery, but he doesn't figure on runaway orphan Bobby Lee witnessing the hijacking from the back of the van. While making his way home, Coy happens upon Bobby Lee stuck in some quicksand. After getting free, Bobby Lee develops a crush on her rescuer.

Commentary

Bobby Lee turns up in Hazzard with pigtails and a gingham dress, accompanied by a small dog. This is obviously an allusion to Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. In fact, Waylon even says that she could pick the bad guys out of a police line-up "if she didn't go back to Oz first."

Trivia

"A Bo for Bobby" script

• The episode title is a play on the '60s TV show Boy Meets Girl.
• George McDaniel (Clooney) came back as John Harris in Cooter's Confession.
• Robert Gray (Potter) returned as Hixx in Sittin' Dukes.
• The original title of this episode was A Bo for Bobby, but it had to be changed when John and Tom walked out.

Bloopers

• Boss' pronunciation of "crêpes" is even worse than Rosco's.

Quotes

• When asked if he believes the Dukes' story:
