Plot Summary
After the fight which ended part 1, Bo makes his move to the fairgrounds more permanent. Boss finds out that the Dukes never paid the impound fee when they rescued the General from the crusher, and has Bo and Luke arrested. Diane's assistant, Carl, is sent to bail out Bo, but Luke has to wait until Jesse and Daisy raise his bail money.
Instead of taking Luke home, Jesse says that they're going patch things up with Bo. At the fairgrounds, Jesse gets Bo and Luke to apologize to each other and shake hands, but they leave when Bo says he's still going to make the jump. On the way back, the Dukes are followed by an insurance investigator who tells them about a string of unexplained accidents at the show which he thinks could be attempted murder.
Back at the fairgrounds, Bo pulls up before a practice jump claiming that the General's not performing right. Carl says that he's in over his head and not up to making the jump. Meanwhile, Luke, Daisy and Jesse visit Bob Dexter, the driver who crashed at the last show, in his hospital bed. He claims that his car was fine, but suddenly lost power at the last second. The trio then find his crashed car, and discover that the fuel line had been cut.
Resigned to Bo making the jump, Cooter tunes the General. As Bo and Diane go to relax before the show, Carl appears and cuts the General's fuel line. Unable to warn Bo about what they've found, the rest of the Dukes and the insurance investigator race to the fairgrounds. They arrive just in time, and tell Bo everything. He still refuses to believe he's been used. Diane admits that originally she just wanted someone to draw the local crowd, but now realizes that she feels more for Bo. Opening the General's hood to show Bo the cut fuel line, they work out that Carl, the former star of show and boyfriend of Diane, must've been behind the accidents. Carl tries to escape, but he's caught by Luke and arrested.
Thinking that the jump's been cancelled, Boss tells the crowd they'll all get refunds, thus meaning that Diane can't pay his fee. Realizing that Diane stands to lose her show, Bo tells the crowd to hang on. Cooter fixes the fuel line and Luke gets into the passenger seat to make the jump with Bo.
