Seann William Scott Says No To Sequel

Seann William Scott Says No to Bo?

Media rumors are at odds over the chances of Dukes of Hazzard movie sequels.  Early reports, fresh from the initial success of the August movie release, suggested that 2 additional films had been authorized by Warner Bros.  The entire cast from the first movie were reportedly “locked in” to star in the sequels.
Jessica Simpson gave public comment to the likelihood of at least a second movie, which would be centered on a “Lost in London” theme.  HazzardNet also received an anonymous tip that the second movie, in fact, had already begun filming.
Yet a recent online article posted by ContactMusic, stated that Seann William Scott nixed the sequel deal, saying that the Dukes movie was “a personal flop”  for him and that he was not interested in revisiting his Bo Duke role.
SWS’s remarks, if they are sincere, represent a spinning 180-degree turn from his original enthusiasm for the role.  Us folks at HazzardNet have to wonder:  Was SWS sensitive to the movie criticism?  Journalists as well as some longtime Dukes fans blasted the movie, though nobody was expecting an Oscar nomination anyway.  The film did make money.  And it’s hard to imagine Seann William Scott balking at a sequel for artistic reasons.
HazzardNet will continue to explore the news, rumors, and wild speculations surrounding the movie sequel.  Watch our Movie section of the HazzardNet Forums for fan commentary and the very latest from the grapevine!
