#1 and #2 cake...

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

We were discussing among friends the reason for this cake:

Does anyone know the extact occasion what this was for?

Celebration of the first 2 seasons? Or some kind of viewer ratings?

(I don't know if this was discussed in the forum before, I tried the search but couldn't find anything...)

Hmmm, that doesn't sound right. I don't ever remember them showing Dukes twice a week, let alone twice a day.

I do know that they were shown daily in the afternoons in 1985 because I was watching them around 5pm when the electric went out and my hometown (3 miles away) was destroyed by a tornado. At the time I thought that I was having bad luck, missing my Dukes. I didn't find out until later that there was a lot of folks having a lot worse luck than me that day.

I bet there was a week where they had two new episodes in one week. That sounds more like it. The more I think about it, the more it's ringing a distant bell.

Maybe it was the show coming in #1 & #2 for the network one week?

Broadcasting a new episode and then a rerun of another episode... Getting ranked over all the other shows, would be a great achievement. Especially if they were up against a new series that didn't do well. Hmm?
