The MoonShine 400 !!
RogerDuke replied to Hobie Hartkins's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Watching from behind, Jesse sees Hobie take advantage of Garrett's misfortune and pull beside his car. From Jesse's view it looks like both cars crossed the finish line at the same time. The checkered flag waves. It appears Jesse won't know the winner until he finishes the race and asks. All he knows is that it looks like a photo finish. Skipper clearly has third place wrapped up. Losing to a guy pulling a yacht is a bit humiliating but Jesse is happy for Skipper. Now, there's the business of fifth place. He looks at Emma. There just might be a photo finish for fifth place too. -

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
Skipper Duke replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
DUKES FANS! ๐๐ฆ Did you know that the General Lee in Season 2's "The Runaway" episode sank in a lake on a barge? ๐คฏ Some say it was John Schneider's personal car loaned for the episode! ๐ค Even more interesting, this particular General Lee is rumored to be the ONLY one with WELDED SHUT DOORS throughout the entire series! ๐๐ Do you think it's still underwater? ๐ค Share your thoughts! ๐ฌ #TheDukesOfHazzard #GeneralLee #JohnSchneider -

I'd have to add 'Coward of the County' and 'The Gambler' to your choice, Roger. Now, should I walk away or should I run - I never seem to know!

I wasn't expecting the reunion to be on a British morning magazine show. BTW. I converted your link to an embedded video - I think more people are likely to watch it that way. Here's David Soul on 'Top Gear':

The MoonShine 400 !!
Garrett Duke replied to Hobie Hartkins's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Garrett allows a bit of excitement as the finish line comes into view several feet ahead. He glances behind to see his competition momentarily and as he looks ahead he hits a bump and cusses out loudly and regains control of his car. With the finish line coming he feels his passenger tire going flat. Frustrated, but not giving up, Garrett pushes the gas pedal farther down to force his car to go faster in hope of making it to the finish line ahead of everyone else. -

Thanks for the info! Sitcoms are typically not my kind of show, but I occasionally watched episodes of a few when growing up (such as Growing Pains & Facts of Life). In the U.S. for a full season, usually 22-24 episodes is standard for original network (CBS, NBC & ABC) shows, including sitcoms. However, sometimes if shows premiere later in a season they will have less episodes. DOH premiered about halfway through that TV season (January 1979), so Season 1 only had 13 episodes. Nowadays though, cable network & streaming shows usually have only around 10-13 episodes a season. Rick should have stayed on DOH.

The MoonShine 400 !!
RogerDuke replied to Hobie Hartkins's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Jesse comes around the final corner and looks at the long home stretch to the finish line. Garrett is in the lead. Hobie is right on his back bumper. There is a gap between Hobie and third place Skipper. Emma Tisdale is neck and neck with Jesse, now quite a ways behind Skipper. This thing will be over soon folks. Unless something changes dramatically Skipper will finish 3rd. But 1st and 4th are anybody's guess. -
I've been up all night. Had a reaction to a shot. Can barely move my arm and couldn't get comfortable no matter how I laid. It felt like Mike Tyson was punching my shoulder all night.

I had no idea that 'Ol Red was that old of a song. I'm not much of a Kenny fan but I'll admit that Islands in the Stream was (and still is) amazing. And I'm not the only one who thinks so. As I recall it was number 1 on country and rock charts for a long time. One of the most successful songs in history.

The show that Rick left for was "Amanda's". He played the chef, Earl Nash, at Amanda's by the Sea - a hotel run by Bea Arthur's character Amanda. The show was based on the iconic British sitcom "Fawlty Towers", but was cancelled after 13 episodes. The show also starred Fred McCarren, who was Neil Bishop in "The Big Heist". "Fawlty Towers" famously (at least on this side of The Pond) only ran for two seasons of six episodes each (six episodes is the standard season length for British sitcoms), and they were four years apart due to the stars/writers getting divorced in-between. Here's the first episode of "Amanda's". I assume by the picture quality that it hasn't been released on DVD or repeated lately. Rick appears at just over eight minutes in.

Kenny's version isn't the original, although it is the version I like best. Ol' Red was written by James "Bo" Bohon, Don Goodman, and Mark Sherrill, and first recorded by George Jones in 1990. Kenny's version came out in 1993 and Blake's version in 2001.
