Here We Go Again! Season Two of the Dukes of Hazzard on DVD!
A repeat quality performance from WB with the Complete Second Season of the Dukes. All 23 episodes of the second season have been wonderfully restored, and the sound is super! Those with laptop DVD players may find grabbing snapshots a little selective, as some of the episodes seem to have more “motion” than would be expected with a digital transfer. But all in all, the episodes are clear.
The packaging again is great with colorful rarely seen photos, full protraits of the cast on the inside where the discs are located and sprinkled about. As with the first season release the discs are double-sided. I don’t know who came up with the two sided idea but as the Guiness guys say: BRILLIANT! This makes for a nice compact packaging and uses the discs for what they were intended for and leaves the task of putting graphics on the disc to be a moot point.
Extras this time around include John and Tom’s screen tests, which are a hoot to watch and definite proof of why those two worked together so well. Also included is a terrific documentary type presentation on the DukesFest, which is great for those of us who have not been able to make the show. This includes a spectacular car stunt show where the General Lee jumps again and assorted cop cars and even a bad guy Chevy Malibu are trashed in the process. Make sure you click on the patch on Bo’s shoulder of his race suit, for a little “easter egg” extra presentation of Rosco dueling with “Barney Fife” at DukesFest. KHEE!!
As with Season One, Season Two retails for about 30 bucks and I can say it’s 30 bucks well spent!
