April and May news tidbits have been moved the News Archives.
Blackfilm.com has some pics that of the new movie, most of which have been all over the web for months. But worth noting are the couple of pics of brother Burt as Boss Hogg and one of Lynda Carter (who still looks like she could jump into Wonder Woman mode and do some serious damage! Jessica who? ROFL). Check ’em out…

Dukes of Hazzard Movie Tickets

First an update on the 3rd Season DVD “I didn’t get no stinkin’ movie ticket!” controversy. Basically….your chance of getting a ticket is a crap shoot. LOL. Initially I (MaryAnne) thought that “specially marked packages” would have the movie ticket. I had noticed at my local Borders that the DVD had a sticker on it about the movie tickets, where as the copies at my local Target did not. I bought the DVD at Target because it’s about 10 bucks cheaper. However, the sticker theory got blown to heck when a friend of mine, who purchased her copy at Best Buy, had no ticket and hers had the sticker on it.
So basically, as I said, it’s a crap shoot. Another fan wrote in explaining that what probably happened was only a certain number of the DVDs got the ticket (let’s say, the first 5000 DVD’s, or however many movie goers WB was willing to subsidize. LOL) Those 5000 or so DVDs are then shipped all over the country and…well, good luck.
In all fairness, WB should have made this clear with their advertising, instead of just saying “Get a free movie ticket with the 3rd Season DVD purchase!”  For crying out loud, we’re not THAT stupid y’know!
Anyway, speaking of the movie, we got a tidbit from our Musical Notes and Nonesense department….
ETOnline reports on the upcoming music video featuring Jessica Simpson and Willie Nelson doing a remake of Nancy Sinatra’s classic song “These Boots Are Made For Walking.” Also of note the soundtrack album appears slated for release on July 19th, according to this article.

(HNet Editorial from MaryAnne: I’m assuming that Simpson’s “okay!” response on finding out the song was originally done by Sinatra was Jessicaspeak for “WhothehellisNancySinatra?” I take comfort tho’ that one day, forty years from now there’ll be another blonde bombshell singer who will do a cover of a Jessica Simpson song and ask “WhothehellisJessicaSimpson?” And the wheel in the sky keeps on turning…LOL )

Dukes of Hazzard Movie Posters

FYI, the datacenter where HazzardNet’s server is housed has been having intermittent power outages. If HNet disappears for a little while, that’s probably why. We appreciate your patience as our hosting company gets things back to normal.

ROSCO!! You lamebrain! Where’s my movie ticket??

Folks, we weren’t lying. Seriously. The Season Three DVD release was suppose to have a free movie ticket, good for up to $12 admission for the Dukes of Hazzard theatrical release in August. We’ve heard from a few folks already that found no movie ticket in their copy of Season 3.  We were not making this up. WB has promoted this with net advertising and has it right on their site, that a free movie ticket is included with the season 3 release.
Now….the question is was every single DVD release suppose to have a ticket or did only a certain number of DVDs get the ticket. WB does not make it clear on their site which way the answer goes, they only say “while supplies last.”  What kind of answer is that?!
Yours truly (MaryAnne) will be attempting to pick up a copy this weekend. If there’s no movie ticket in it we’ll be asking some hard questions of WB come Monday morning. LOL
