Enos's Last Chance......season 6

A mysterious man drives into Hazzard County armed with a loaded pistol and a newspaper with a headline titled "Rookie Cop Captures Syndicate Hit Man." The newspaper is from Los Angeles and Enos's picture and name are below the headline. His name is Frank Scanlon and and he ditches his car and starts to hitchhike, only to be picked up by Bo, Luke and Daisy in the General Lee. They drop him off in town without realizing he is planning on killing Enos to get revenge. He finds Enos right away but the deputy's self defense skills save him and Bo and Luke go after him and Enos throws him in jail. When his mask gets tore off Enos realizes who the master of disguise is. Boss called California and found out there was a $50,000 reward for him and of course, wanted it for himself. Scanlon grabbed Enos's keys and escaped right away and stole Enos's car, with Daisy in hot pursuit driving the General and the boys beside her. Scanlon shot a tire out and got away and returned to his car and got a new disguise as a preacher and left Enos's car there. Boss fired Enos because he had let Scanlon grab his keys and escape. When driving around, the Duke boys found Enos's car and found evidence that Scanlon had a new disguise and was heading to town in a car they wouldn't recognize. Scanlon dropped a bomb in Enos's station wagon, nearly killing him and Daisy. Enos went to the Duke farm where Luke came up with an idea tp draw Scanlon out. They went to WHOGG radio and met with their old fishing buddy Elton Loggins who was the DJ there. He announced that Enos would be interviewed at 5:00. Scanlon was listening so planned to kill him then. Jesse got his old ridge runner buddies together to stand watch on the roofs in town. Scanlon stole Bib Tarkey's truck and dressed like him and drove into town and when he realized it was a trap kidnapped Daisy in an alley and drove out of town to a phone booth where he forced her to call the radio station. He said he would kill Daisy if Enos doesn't show up at Pruitt's Meadows in a half hour. Luke got a great idea. He, Bo and Cooter dressed up like deputies and at a distance yelled that they were Enos while Enos was doing the same. Scanlon got so confused it gave Daisy a chance to get his gun away and the others swooped in. Enos ended up being the one to take him down. He also got his job back and a kiss from Daisy.

High Flyin' Dukes.....season 6

Joe Ward bought a crop dusting business and while he was teaching Daisy how to dust, he had an appendix attack and passed out. Daisy landed the airplane just fine and Joe was hauled off in an ambulance after Daisy told him she would finish his jobs for him so he wouldn't lose his business. That was bad timing for Daisy since Boss Hogg and his 2 accomplices Hector and Percy had a crop dusting scam in the works. What Boss didn't know is that Hector and Percy had a secret recording of him laying out the plan and the recording could put Boss in jail a long time. They then followed Boss's orders and dumped poison lye in the crop dusting mixture. Daisy didn't know the mixture was bad so she sprayed a farm that was owned by Boss. Later, Boss went to the Duke farm and told them Daisy had poisoned his land and he was suing to get Joe's business and the Duke farm. Bo and Luke caught Hector and Percy and then had a reluctant Rosco take them into custody. When the Duke boys weren't around Hector and Percy told Boss about the tape so Boss let them go and before you know it Hector and Percy had a scam of their own going on. They stole Joe's plane and parked it at an old WWII airstrip. The Dukes told Boss about the stolen plane and Boss told them that the bad guys escaped. Boss thought they stole the plane to leave Hazzard but they started going around to all the local farmers and telling them if they don't give them a "protection payment" that their fields would be poisoned like Boss's. The 4 Dukes took off in their 3 vehicles to search for the scammers. They found them at Hazzard Airport filling cans with fuel to put in their car and take to the other airstrip. The boys chased them but they got away. Hector and Percy called Jesse and told him if the Dukes don't back off they'd poison his fields. Then the Dukes put Luke's plan into action. Since the crooks didn't know what Jesse looked like, he went to Ned Beemer's place and pretended to be him. When they showed up Jesse recorded their threats. Ned then held them at gunpoint and Rosco and Boss took them away. Hector and Percy weren't done yet. They overpowered Boss and Rosco and took their car, leaving them on the side of the road. The Dukes went to the WWII airstrip and Daisy went up in the wild blue yonder in the airplane and noticed the patrol car and also saw Boss and Rosco without a car. She dropped a rope ladder down to Bo and he jumped on the roof of the moving car and stopped Hector and Percy. Luke and Jesse showed up in the General and helped him finish the job.

-- This episode has an awesome action scene. Rosco went to the second floor of the hotel to rummage through Hector and Percy's belongings but got the wrong room. A big angry husband knocked him through the window. He landed on a mattress that workers were moving and bounced over a car into Boss's arms. The momentum dropped them into a cushy chair that rolled across the road near a parking meter that then ran out at the very moment and dinged. Rosco was laying on Boss's lap and starting to write him a parking ticket.

Cooter's Girl.....season 6

When Bo and Luke are flying in a glider they look down and notice two guys in a pick-up truck run a car off the road. They land the glider and hop in the General Lee and go help the person in the car. That person is 18 year old Nancy Lou Nelson from Alabama and she is in Hazzard looking for a guy named Cooter Davenport. Bo and Luke told her that he was their close friend and Nancy Lou followed them to the Boar's Nest where they said he'd be on his lunch break. The guys in the truck, Collins and Morgan, got there first and started messing with Daisy and Jesse but Cooter stepped in and was in the middle of a bar room brawl when Nancy Lou arrived. The fight broke up and Nancy Lou told Cooter she was his daughter. She also mentioned that her grandparents broke her young parents up because Cooter was a wild, troublemaking fighter. Since she just witnessed the brawl Nancy Lou incorrectly concluded he hadn't changed and drove away. Cooter told the 4 Dukes he had kept his secret daughter from them all these years. He had run away with Beverly Hibbs but her parents had their marriage dissolved. Back in Hazzard, Boss was leading an exercise group for "Hazzard County Health Week" where he was making money on shirts, sweat bands and dietary supplements. Collins and Morgan showed up and bought land from him in Spruce Hills. They said it was for a sheep farm but they were planning on using it as a toxic waste dump. The 4 Dukes caught up with Cooter's daughter and explained that the brawl was no reflection on the real Cooter but things didn't go well the second time they met either. Collins and Morgan made trouble at Cooter's gas station and another fight happened. Nancy Lou was disappointed again. Morgan dropped his wallet so the boys went after them after the fight. Luke asked them a trick question about sheep farming and realized they were lying about their plans for Spruce Hills. After a meal at the Duke farm, Cooter and his daughter finally had a chance to bond. It didn't last because  Enos and Rosco came to arrest Bo and Luke. Cooter defended them and the 3 got away after a chase. Nancy Lou decided to leave but Daisy's emotional speech about how great Cooter was changed her mind. Bo, Luke and Cooter went to Spruce Hills and after encountering armed guards knew something serious was going on. Bo and Luke went up in the glider to get a better look and ran out of wind so were forced to land. After they found out what was going on and the toxic waste trucks were nearly there, they called Cooter to jump the General Lee in to rescue them. Boss and Rosco found out about the waste and joined the fight to stop it. The Dukes got up in the air again and threw dynamite on a bridge just before the toxic trucks could reach their destination. Morgan and Collins went to jail and Cooter and Nancy Lou had a happy ending.

-- Ben Jones once said this was his favorite episode.

-- Jesse's tone of voice was funny when he told Nancy Lou "The law here in Hazzard....why....it's different!"

-- When Nancy Lou saw the second fight Waylon said "Talk about bad timing. If it was raining soup, 'ole Cooter's bowl would be upside down."

-- Boss was planning on locking the boys up and said "I'll have them picking weeds off the county highways 'till the year 2000" LOL That seemed like a long ways off.

-- The Dukes used CB channel 17. Usually it's 22. But instead of saying breaker 17 or breaker 22 Cooter always says breaker 1.

Waylon says almost exactly the same thing about Cletus in 'The Great Bank Robbery'!

Speaking of Nancy Lou, a year before this, Kim Richards appeared in a final season episode of 'CHiPs'. Her younger sister, Kyle, was in the following episode. Something new I've just discovered is that they are aunts of Paris Hilton.

That would make Cooter Paris Hilton's Great Uncle!

Heiress Daisy Duke.....season 6

Boss is riding around in Rosco's patrol car taking notes for his annual job evaluation when they run across a guy named Harry Bobo who is looking for Daisy because he thinks she might be the long lost granddaughter of his client, multimillionaire Carter Stewart. 20 or so years ago, Carter's daughter and husband were killed in an airplane crash. Their 5 year old daughter was believed to be on the plane too but her body was never found so Carter was hoping she was still alive and was offering $200,000 in reward money if anybody would find her. Her name was Vivian and her mother's picture looks just like Daisy Duke. Boss knows Daisy is not Vivian but conspires with Bobo to make Carter think Daisy is his granddaughter in hopes of collecting the reward. Boss calls hypnotist Professor Crandall and he makes Daisy think that she is Vivian. She is programmed to be Vivian if someone says "Jefferson Davis Hogg" and to be Daisy if someone says "JD Hogg". Vivian's only cousin Alan Fairchild would inherit all of Carter's money if Vivian doesn't exist so he and his wife Vonnie conspire to kill Daisy because they suspect she is Vivian after they see her. Bobo called Carter and told him he found his granddaughter. The 3 Duke men had been struggling to figure out why Daisy had been acting so strange. When Jesse sees her at the Boar's Nest she is in Vivian mode and Boss and Bobo whisk her away and tell Jesse she is acting because they are going to Capitol City to film a TV commercial for the Boar's Nest. Jesse followed them and Alan and Vonnie ran his truck off the road. They then ran Boss, Bobo and Daisy off the road but nobody was hurt. The Duke men then broke into Boss's office and also investigated old newspaper articles at the Hazzard Gazette and figured everything out. Carter Stewart was overjoyed when Daisy came to his house. He thought his granddaughter had returned to his life. Alan then took her for a ride up top on Red Ridge Hill and got out of the car, cut the brake lines and pushed it down the road. Bo and Luke showed up in the General Lee and Vonnie admitted what Alan was doing and told them where they were. They rescued their cousin just in time! Alan and Vonnie went to jail. Professor Crandall dehypnotized Daisy. Daisy promised Carter that she would visit him often.

-- Professor Crandall was the same guy who hypnotized Luke in "Goodbye General Lee"

-- Carter Stewart reminded me a lot of Boss's Big Daddy but they were different actors

-- The Dukes of Hazzard "Unofficial Companion" states "The painting of Vivian Stewart used in the show now hangs in the home of Catherine Bach".......however, the painting was actually of Vivian Stewart's mother.

Nancy Hinman, who played Vonnie, had a sparse acting career. Dukes was her second acting credit, but her first was five years earlier as a nurse in CHiPs, which is why she looked familiar to me. Her later credits were three episodes of Knots Landing in 1986, a 1987 movie called Carly's Web (which also featured Gary Grubbs (Luke's Love Story and Vance's Lady) and Ramon Bieri (Undercover Dukes)), and two episodes of St. Elsewhere.

Dead and Alive......season 6

While Artie Bender was painting a nature landscape he witnessed two guys named Phil and Lenny rob a Tri-County Armored Car. Bo and Luke then just happen to come by and after Artie described the car to them they go after it. Then Sheriff Big Ed Little comes by and Artie tells him which way the robbers went. Since he didn't describe the car to Big Ed, he catches the Dukes and arrested them for the robbery. Artie went home and Boss and Rosco showed up to foreclose on his home. Artie offered to pay Boss in paintings and that prompted Boss to scheme up a plan to fake Artie's death and sell his paintings because paintings from a dead artist are worth a lot more. Artie went along with the plan in order to keep his house and agreed to hide out by Hazzard Pond. The problem for Bo and Luke was that the only witness that could verify their innocence was gone. (The armored car driver wasn't a witness because he never saw what hit him). While Artie's funeral is going on, Bo and Luke escaped from their Chickasaw cell and got away after a car chase. Boss put on an art show and brought in a big time buyer. Boss even staged 6 people to pretend they wanted to buy the paintings so the dealer would be more interested. It worked. The dealer bought them all. Boss told him he would find more for him to buy, laying around Artie's place. The 4 Dukes and Cooter met at Artie's house and concluded something fishy was going on. They found out that the death certificate was faked and then Phil and Lenny started chasing Bo and Luke. They called Ed to help, who called Enos. The three cars crashed into each other and the General got away. The Dukes figured out Phil and Lenny were the robbers and then figured out Artie was still alive when they saw the wet fresh paint on Boss's suit when a Bender painting contacted it, thanks to Rosco. They went to Hazzard Pond and found Artie but then Jesse and Daisy got caught by the robbers while witnessing them grab their stash of stolen money. The got tied up on Dixie but got loose right away when they left. The General, Big Ed, Boss and Rosco caught Phil and Lenny and threw them in jail after a chase. The art dealer met with Artie and told him he'd buy as many paintings as he could even though he was still alive. Artie then made the Dukes a beautiful family portrait.

-- Many of the paintings in this episode were made by James Best.

-- Rosco to Big Ed, "I have half a mind to write you a ticket." Big Ed to Rosco "Coltrane, you ain't even got a quarter of a mind."

That was the same scene where Ed picked him up under his arms and hung him on a light pole right in the middle of Hazzard. I have to admit I felt a little bad for Rosco.

Haha Cousin Roger and he said "Coltrane you couldn't catch a cold if you was naked as a Jaybird in the snow! Now, just hang around and watch a real lawman do his job!"

Play it Again, Luke......season 6

When Luke was in the Marines he dated a girl named Candy Dix who was just starting her singing career. She had hit the big time and was at the Boar's Nest giving a concert because she wanted to test some new material out on a smaller audience and wanted to see Luke. After the concert her manager, Eddie Lee Memphis was being mean to Candy and then punched Luke. Luke knocked him down and then also knocked down his assistant Hoby. Knowing Candy was in danger, Luke, Bo and Daisy took her back to the farm. Luke and Candy rekindled their romance and then she explained to him that Eddie Lee had been mean to her lately and she suspected he had gambling debts. She knew he was bad news and couldn't break her contract with him. What she didn't know was how bad his debts were. Eddie Lee owed a big time gambling boss named Starkey a lot of money and his life was in danger if he didn't pay it back. The only way he knew he could do that would be to kill Candy and collect the $75,000 in life insurance that was in his name. Eddie Lee and Hoby showed up at the Boar's Nest and made a deal with Boss. Eddie would give Boss 10% of her contract in exchange for $25,000 and the return of Candy. Not knowing about the deal, Luke came into town to swear out assault charges against Eddie Lee but Boss threatened to arrest Luke for kidnapping her. After a chase, Luke got away in the General with Bo and Candy and later hid her in the upstairs of Cooter's Garage. Worried that she was putting the Dukes in danger she later decided to call Eddie Lee and he and Hoby picked her up. While that was going on, Bo, Luke and Cooter were going through Candy's camper and after getting a call from Starkey and seeing the life insurance certificate, figured out her life was in danger. Eddie Lee and Hoby drove away from town to kill her but it was four vehicles to the rescue, Daisy and Jesse in the General Lee, Enos in his patrol car, Bo and Luke in Cooter's wrecker and Rosco, Boss and Cooter in the sheriff's car. Everybody ended up at the junk yard where Luke almost met his doom in the crusher. The bad guys went to jail and Candy gave another concert at the Boar's Nest, where Luke played guitar and the two lovebirds sang Boulder to Birmingham.
