Share and Share Alike....season 4

Two robbers driving by Sunset Lake throw a bag of stolen credit cards out that is worth a million dollars when Cletus is chasing them for a minor traffic violation. Bo and Luke just happen to be fishing there and pick up the bag. Cletus catches the bad guys and since he knows nothing about the credit cards he just gives them a ticket. The bad guys start looking for the General Lee since they saw it parked there and suspect the owners might have picked up the bag. Rosco ends up with the cards and gives them to Boss who plans on keeping them but using a few to frame the Dukes. Meanwhile Lulu is now dressing like Boss and has started the Hazzard Equal Rights Society (HERS) and explains to Boss that she is taking over half of his businesses since they are legally hers. She then has her name painted on all of them and convinces other Hazzard women to stand up for their rights as well. The bad guys find Bo and Luke but don't believe them when they say Rosco has the cards. The boys elude them but the bad guys go to the farm and hold Jesse hostage in their ongoing effort to get the bag of credit cards. Lulu sold Rosco's sheriff's car to Big Ed Little and had it painted Chickasaw green and her and Daisy took off to deliver it, not knowing the cards were hidden inside. After everyone found out where the cards were 7 vehicles took off after Daisy and Lulu 1) The General Lee 2) Boss and Rosco in Cletus's car 3) Cletus in a third police car 4) Jesse's truck 5) Cooter's wrecker 6) The bad guys 7) Big Ed. The bad guys get there first and hold Daisy and Lulu hostage and take their car but then it's another Hazzard County reunion and another happy ending. Lulu backs off from sharing businesses with Boss but unveils her new plan to run for the office of County Commissioner.

The Law and Jesse Duke....season 4

Rosco and Cletus find out that the Chickasaw police went on strike and ended up with better pay and benefits so they decide to strike too. When Boss fires them they end up picketing in front of the courthouse. Even Flash has a picket sign. Since there is no law and order in Hazzard Boss looks up the Jones gang, Simon, Floyd and the leader, their sister Alabama and come up with a plan to burglarize businesses in Hazzard....and of course Boss plans to frame the Dukes. After the Jones gang grabs their first truckload of goods they tie Bo and Luke up at their warehouse/hideout and then go grab another load. The Duke boys get away but not before Alabama takes pictures of them that makes it looks like they were stealing televisions. She also has her brothers put stolen goods in the truck of the General without them knowing. Boss calls a meeting in town where Jesse is reluctantly made temporary sheriff (the other 3 Dukes had been deputies in the past). Boss then shows Jesse the pictures and since Jesse is a man of honor it is his sworn duty to go after them. Cooter warns the boys on the CB and the next thing you know Jesse is driving a patrol car with Daisy by his side and they are in hot persuit of the boys but their orange clunker car is too much for the old ridge runner. The boys find the stolen merchandise in their trunk and return it to the rightful owners. The 4 Dukes then meet and the General leads Sheriff Duke to the warehouse/hideout and then they start chasing the Jones gang. Jesse tells Boss on the CB "I love it. I love it. I love it. Hot Pursuit!" Boss gives Rosco and Cletus the raise and benefits they want so they join the chase end up in a paint shop with lots of colors on them and their car and then land in a pond. 4 Dukes catch 3 Jones' and everything is back to Hazzard's version of what is called normal.

From a couple of sources I've read that John Schneider dated Melinda Naud (Alabama Jones) from 1979 to 1983. There are plenty of pictures of them together if you do a quick search. I've also read that she claims that her son Luigi was the result of a secret relationship with Wayne Rogers (Trapper John in M*A*S*H) which took place between 1978 and 1985!

That couldn't be right Hoss. This episode aired on March 26, 1982 and she must have gone to state prison for at least 4 years after Rosco threw her in the Hazzard jail. That would put her out of prison in 1986 at the earliest. This means that there is no way she could have been dating either of these guys from 1982 on.

Dukes in Danger....season 4

When Rosco is chasing the Duke boys a station wagon with a guard driving and 2 prisoners in the back gets run off the road and the prisoners escape. They end up at the Duke farm where they take the mortgage money and hold Jesse and Daisy hostage. When Bo and Luke arrive they get taken hostage too. Since the mortgage money didn't get to the bank on time Boss arrives at the farm with a foreclosure notice, only to become a hostage as well. Later Rosco shows up and now there are 7 hostages if you count Flash. The prisoners make Boss call Cletus to tell him he and Rosco will be at the farm for a couple days and not to let anybody disturb them. Cletus is pretty excited to be in charge and even smokes a cigar. When Cooter brought Daisy's Jeep back the bad guys hid but Daisy was able to sneak a "HELP" note in his shirt pocket. Her kiss distracted him so much that he forgot about it. The bad guys forced the hostages into the barn for the night with only one guarding them. In the morning the Dukes overpowered him and he ran in the house with the other guy. The boys grabbed their bows and arrows and Jesse got his shotgun and a long shootout occurred. The prisoners then got away in a patrol car just as Cooter found the note and left with Cletus to go to the farm. The Dukes changed a tire and take off after the bad guys. After being joined by Cletus, Cooter and the prison guard, they catch them. The Dukes trick Boss into accepting the mortgage money and keep the farm. Season 4 comes to an end with a couple new Duke boys in Hazzard's future.

I stand corrected. How could I have missed that ;)

The New Dukes.....season 5

Bo and Luke leave Hazzard after getting an opportunity to fulfill their lifelong dream of joining the NASCAR circuit. Boss is so happy that he even shares his meal and champagne with Rosco and he never shares food with him. Jesse and Daisy are just the opposite of happy since they miss Bo and Luke so much. But when the new Dukes show up Daisy and Jesse are now happy and Boss no longer is. Coy had been a test driver in Detroit and Vance was in the Merchant Marines and they hadn't been in Hazzard for 6 years. Before you know it Enos is showing up in the courthouse in his uniform and everybody but Boss is happy about that. Boss isn't pleased because due to a regulation he has to hire him back after his stint in California. (I was happy too since he was my favorite character at the time). Boss hired 2 bad guys and bought a tank vehicle called the mean green machine. The first thing they did was bust through the front wall of the Capitol City Bank and rob it at gunpoint. Coy, Vance and Daisy took after it but their blue car was destroyed with flames and the machine got away. The good news for the new boys was that the General Lee was available. Boss bought a printing press and planned on using the bad guys and the machine to steal the government printing plates that make $100 bills when they come through town. Rosco planted some of the stolen Capitol City money in the General Lee and after a chase arrested the boys for robbery. Enos sold the car he bought in California to bail them out. The Dukes figured out what Boss's plans were and spring into action after hopping into all 3 of their vehicles but they're too late to stop the plates from being stolen. The bad guys then double cross Boss and tie him and Rosco up but they get rescued. When the bad guys realize they are going to get caught, they take the machine off their trailer and bust through Enos and Cletus's roadblack. A few minutes later Coy flew the General Lee over the machine and Vance dropped some lit dynamite in. The Hazzard Gazette put heroes Coy and Vance on the front page and Daisy put a kiss on Enos's cheek. When the Dukes went back to get the mean green machine it had mysteriously vanished.

Dukes Strike it Rich.....season 5

A young couple (the Morton's) buy property sight unseen that ajoins Duke property. They are devastated when they see it because Boss advertised it as farm land but it is a swamp. While Cooter is distracting Boss and Rosco by towing Boss's car for a phony windshield wiper recall, Coy and Vance flip through Boss's records and learn about his scam. After a chase the boys get caught and get thrown in jail but get out right away and meet Jesse, Daisy and the Morton's at an old still sight and come up with a plan. They melted some miscellaneous gold into a real nugget and then made a bunch of fake nuggets out of lead and gold spray paint and dressed up and acted like rich people. Coy and Vance planted the fake gold on their property and also the Morton's, in the stream that goes through both. They lured Boss and Rosco there and when they found a few nuggets Boss wanted the Morton's property back. Later, Rosco found the fake nugget making operation in Cooter's garage. Boss was out at the Duke farm talking to the Morton's, and Rosco headed out there and tried to call Boss on the CB but his radio sparked and popped and was ruined. Boss gave the Morton's back twice the money they paid for the land and then he left for Capitol City to officially record the deed. Then Rosco made it to the farm to tell Boss the nuggets were fake but he resorts to plan B and tries to catch Boss before he can get to Capitol City. Thankfully, the boys and the General Lee were able to slow down Rosco just enough to save the day for the Morton's.

Jay Baker, who played Jeb Morton in this episode, auditioned to be be one of the replacement Duke Boys.

I didn't know that. I'm glad he didn't get the job. I don't think he would have done as well as Christopher Mayer....assuming Christopher was his competition since they both have dark hair.

Lawman of the Year.....season 5

While Rosco is throwing Daisy in jail for speeding through a 15 mph sign (that he quick-changed from 55) Coy and Vance stop to help a couple of thieves fix a flat tire but they aren't very friendly and Vance noticed a pistol in their car. They are on the way to Hazzard because Boss hired them to rob a jewelry store after the owner sold fake jewelry to Lulu. At Rosco's speedtrap Miz Tisdale rode a wheelie and then handed the sheriff a letter saying that he has been nominated for Lawman of the Year. He wasn't too surprised since he nominated himself. She explains to him that he has to be nicer if he wants to win so the first thing he does is let Daisy out of jail. He then starts treating all the citizen on the street nice and even tells Cletus to stop tricking people with things like movable plastic fire hydrants and fake citations. Rosco knows that a secret observer from the award committee is running around somewhere so he is really turning on the charm. Boss instructs the thieves to go through the underground sewer lines to get into the jewelry store but they literally hit a cement wall. Boss sends Enos and Cletus to arrest the boys but the lawmen get a little cement problem themselves. When they fall in the wet stuff, Coy and Vance get away. They go to the post office and find a wanted poster of one of the bad guys so they know they're up to no good. The bad guys go to Boss's gravel pit to pick up dynamite to bust through the wall. After Daisy catches them they tie her up and when Coy and Vance show up, they lock all 3 Dukes in the shack but Jesse and Cooter rescue them. The bad guys blow a hole in the wall and strip the store clean but instead of giving the stash to Boss they double cross him and drive off. Six vehicles go after them, the General, Dixie, Cooter's wrecker, Jesse's truck, Boss with Rosco and Enos with Cletus. They catch them and throw them in jail. Later in town, Miz Tisdale showed up on her dirt bike with an important letter announcing the award. Enos and Cletus both received it. It turned out that she was the secret observer from the committee.

I read an article this morning about the Ford vs Ferrari movie and they used Chevy LS engines in the production cars but supposedly recorded actual racing cars engine noise for use in the movie.

That's just cheap!

That happened with Christine(1983). The 1958 Plymouth Fury's engine heard in the movie factory opening scene was actually the sound of a Mustang.

I've just spotted Daisy's yellow car making another return in 'Uncle Boss' in season 3. The plot needed Daisy's car to have a trunk for Hughie to plant the moonshine. Apparently, this episode was meant to be shown in the first half of season 2, which also explains why Enos is back from LA (four episodes after leaving).

The same thing happened with Dukescam Scam Twas really a Season 3 episode but got held back and aired in Season 4 for unknown reasons.

Coy Meets Girl.....season 5

Coy and Vance are driving an Apex rental van full of valuable antiques down the road. They are heading to Loomis to deliver them to Jesse's friends who had just moved there but a couple of bad guys named Potter and Clooney stop them and tie them up alongside the road and take the van. The boys get lose and correctly assume that Boss is behind the robbery. While the thieves are unloading the antiques, an orphan, stowaway, runaway named Bobby Lee Jordan hops out of the van, carrying her dog Max and runs into the woods. Potter and Clooney called Boss and told him about her. Coy then saves Bobby Lee from the quicksand and she quickly develops a crush on him but doesn't tell him she had been hiding in the van when he and Vance were hijacked. Daisy takes Bobby Lee and Max to the bus spot but has to rescue her when Potter and Clooney try to kidnap her. Later,  the thieves plant the van in the Duke barn to frame them and immediately Boss and Rosco show up for the arrest but the boys get away. Bobby Lee snuck off while that was going on but she wasn't gone long until Cletus caught her until she escaped with Daisy's help. Before you know it, the General Lee, the Apex van, Jesse's truck, Potter and Clooney's car and Rosco and Boss in the sheriff's car were in the middle of National Guard maneuvers and Rosco and Boss watched the sheriff's car get blown to bits. Rosco said it "done scuffed my vehicle beyond repair." The bad guys got caught and Bobby Lee got adopted by Jesse's friends who just moved to Loomis. The ending off screen wasn't happy though. This would be the last time we would see that lovable dipstick, Cletus.

The Hazzardgate Tape....season 5

While Enos is off chasing the Duke boys, Boss and Rosco are at Boss's house, meeting with 3 bosses from neighboring counties. The other bosses are angry that a new highway is going through Hazzard and they want to renegotiate terms of all the crime activity with Boss Hogg. When he refuses, the other 3 and their henchmen meet in a shack and make plans to kill Boss. Coy and Vance just happened to be listening in and got caught but got away after a chase. Moments after the 4 Dukes warn Boss about the threat the henchmen try to run him over but the boys save him and stuff him in the back seat of the General. After Rosco and Enos scare the bad boys off, the good boys take Boss to the farm for protection and are joined by the Hazzard law. The henchmen make another attempt on Boss's life but Enos saves him this time. Boss calls the other bosses to another meeting at his house where Vance, Coy and Rosco are secretly videotaping them to get incriminating evidence to take to the state police in Capitol City. They get caught while making the recording and after they get away they bad guys get away from Rosco and Enos. The chase is on as the bad guys pursue the General Lee on the way to Capitol City. With help from Daisy, Jesse, Rosco and Enos the bad guys get caught and all is well again in Hazzard County.

-- Mel Tillis gets caught in the celebrity speedtrap and sings "Stay a Little Longer". He played 5 different instruments during one song. It's amazing how much he looks like Burl Tolliver.

-- The Dukes have a light brown refrigerator in this one. I don't remember anything but white ones.

--This episode was likely named from the Watergates tapes during the Nixon presidency.

-- Rosco said Cletus was on vacation but last episode was his last.

-- Funny scene with Coy and Vance carrying Boss while Boss's feet are moving in the air.

-- The 3 other bosses are....Boss Bowman of Choctaw County....Hopkins of Hatchapee Co.....Starkey of Eureka Co

Seeing as this was only four episodes into the Coy and Vance era, do you think that the original title was "Bo Meets Girl", and they had to change it at the last minute?

That's an interesting question and is certainly possible. On the other hand, Coy rhymes with boy and Bo doesn't. I wouldn't be surprised if you are right though.

Big Daddy.....season 5

Boss's father once told him that he would only inherit his millions if he becomes an honest, successful person who is loved by his fellow citizens. So when Boss gets a telegram that Big Daddy Hogg is coming to town he gets a little nervous and he stages things to make it look like everybody loves him and before you know it, Big Daddy's limo is pulling into town for the reunion. Earlier, Boss had Rosco switch the General Lee's CNH 320 license plate with one on a pick-up truck of a guy named Jenkins, who had just gotten the bad end of a deal with Boss for stolen merchandise. While Cooter is gassing Jenkins' truck up he notices the General's plate on it and calls the boys. Jenkins sees Boss on the street with his Daddy and Boss wants to show how good he is so he gives Jenkins the money he deserved. Moments later Jenkins sees Ernie, Big Daddy's limo driver, and Waylon hints that Ernie or Big Daddy or both are crooked. While Boss is on the street giving away money, Big Daddy and Ernie conspire to steal Boss's money. Later, the 4 Dukes catch Jenkins and got the plate back. Jenkins escaped but not before tipping them that Ernie is crooked. Big Daddy and Ernie see Boss open his safe and Ernie pulls out a gun and takes $50,000 from him. Ernie is only pretending to be working alone. Big Daddy is in on it. When Ernie tries to leave, the limo is blocked in so he hijacks Vance and the General and later kicks Vance out.  Out in the country Cooter sees Ernie and Big Daddy meet up and Ernie abandons the General and hops in the limo. The Dukes figured out that they had been working together and told Boss on the CB but of course he didn't believe them. Everybody ended up meeting and sorting things out. Big Daddy thought Boss would be mad but just the opposite was true. Boss was proud of him and happy to know that he was just like his Daddy. He later realized that his Daddy kept $5,000 of the 50,000 but didn't even bother to chase him down.

-- This was a very well written episode even though it was odd that Big Daddy had never been mentioned in the past 5 seasons.

-- I don't rely on my "Unofficial Companion" book much but it said Cletus's last episode was two episodes earlier. Either it was wrong or the episodes weren't aired in order they were filmed....which is what I suspect since he was in this one. Seeing him was a nice surprise.

Miss Tri-Counties.....season 4

Miss Melanie Dubois of Hatchapee County enters the Tri-County beauty contest, the 3 counties being Hatchapee, Riverton and Hazzard. Melanie's sugar daddy is Big Jim Mathers and he wants her to win so bad that he gives Boss $10,000 to fix it so she does. Boss wants to use the money to fund his solar powered still and he even has a little scale model of it. Boss knows Melanie's biggest competition is Daisy so he tries to keep her from entering before the deadline but fails. The contest is divided into 3 sections- mechanical ability, a car race and swimsuit competition. The mechanical contest is to see who can put a carburetor together quickest. Daisy won despite the fact that Boss rigged it but she forfeited because she thought it was the right thing to do. Later Rosco found out that Daisy's drivers license had expired so she couldn't enter the race. After telling her, the Dukes rushed off to Chickasaw because Boss wouldn't help her renew it. Boss contacts Big Ed Little and he fails to stop Daisy from renewing it despite chasing her cousins around during her test. Daisy then won the race even though Big Jim sent his two henchmen on the course to trip her up. Having Daisy tied with Melanie 1-1 Big Jim is desperate so he has his men kidnap Daisy but it's the General Lee to the rescue and they get Daisy back to the Boar's Nest  just in time for the swimsuit competition which was easy for Miss Hazzard County to win, pulling down a perfect score of 30. Big Jim got his money back from Boss and Daisy donated her $500 prize to the 4H club for kids (Head, Heart, Health, Hands).

-- Folks in Hazzard County were green before being green was cool. Boss wanted a solar powered still and Jesse invented ethanol in "High Octane"

--- Jesse (talking to himself) "And people ask 'wher'd ya git all that grey hair Mr. Duke.' "

Cousin Roger... Great I love it! Idk if it's true but I heard that actress Danone Simpson(Melanie Dubois) is Jessica Ann Simpson's mom.
