My favorite song, by one of the most underplayed singers, copperhead road, steve earle.

Well my name's john lee pettimore

Same as my daddy and his daddy before

You hardly ever saw grandaddy down here

He only came to town about twice a year

He'd buy a hundred pounds of yeast and some copper line

Everybody knew that he made moonshine

Now the revenue man wanted grandaddy bad

He headed up the holler with everything he had

It's before my time but i've been told

He never came back from copperhead road

Now daddy ran the whiskey in a big block dodge

Bought it at an auction at the mason's lodge

Johnson county sheriff painted on the side

Just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside

Well him and my uncle tore that engine down

I still remember that rumblin' sound

Well the sheriff came around in the middle of the night

Heard mama cryin', knew something wasn't right

He was headed down to knoxville with the weekly load

You could smell the whiskey burnin' down copperhead road

I volunteered for the army on my birthday

They draft the white trash first,'round here anyway

I done two tours of duty in vietnam

And i came home with a brand new plan

I take the seed from colombia and mexico

I plant it up the holler down copperhead road

Well the d.e.a.'s got a chopper in the air

I wake up screaming like i'm back over there

I learned a thing or two from ol' charlie don't you know

You better stay away from copperhead road

Copperhead road

Copperhead road

Copperhead road

This is one of my favorite songs.

It has a whole lot of positive energy (LOL)

Sting-brand new day

How many of you people out there

Been hurt in some kind of love affair

And how many times do you swear that you'll never love again?

How many lonely, sleepless nights

How many lies, how many fights

And why would you want to put yourself through all that again?

"Love is pain," I hear you say

Love has a cruel and bitter way

Of paying you back for all the faith you ever had in your brain

How could it be that what you need the most

Can leave you feeling just like a ghost?

You never want to feel so sad and lost again

One day you could be looking

Through an old book in rainy weather

You see a picture of her smiling at you

When you were still together

You could be walking down the street

And who should you chance to meet

But that same old smile that you've been thinking of all day

You can turn the clock to zero, honey

I'll sell the stock, we'll spend all the money

We're starting up a brand new day

Turn the clock all the way back

I wonder if she'll take me back

I'm thinking in a brand new way

Turn the clock to zero, sister

You'll never know how much I missed her

Starting up a brand new day

Turn the clock to zero, boss

The river's wide, we'll swim across

Started up a brand new day

It could happen to you - just like it happened to me

There's simply no immunity - there's no guarantee

I say love's such a force - if you find yourself in it

And sometimes no reflection is there

Baby wait a minute, wait a minute

Wait a minute, wait a minute

Wait a minute, wait a minute

Turn the clock to zero, honey

I'll sell the stock, we'll spend all the money

We're starting up a brand new day

Turn the clock to zero, Mac

I'm begging her to take me back

I'm thinking in a brand new way

Turn the clock to zero, boss

The river's wide, we'll swim across

Started up a brand new day

Turn the clock to zero buddy

Don't wanna be no fuddy duddy

Started up a brand new day

I'm the rhythm in your tune

I'm the sun and you're the moon

I'm a bat and you're the cave

You're the beach and I'm the wave

I’m the plow and you’re the land

You're the glove and I'm the hand

I'm the train and you're the station

I'm a flagpole to your nation - yeah

Stand up all you lovers in the world

Stand up and be counted every boy and every girl

Stand up all you lovers in the world

Starting up a brand new day

I'm the present to your future

You're the wound and I’m the suture

You're the magnet to my pole

I'm the devil in your soul

You're the pupil I'm the teacher

You're the church and I'm the preacher

You're the flower I'm the rain

You're the tunnel I'm the train

Stand up all you lovers in the world

Stand up and be counted every boy and every girl

Stand up all you lovers in the world

Starting up a brand new day

You're the crop to my rotation

You're the sum of my equation

I'm the answer to your question

If you follow my suggestion

We can turn this ship around

We'll go up instead of down

You're the pan and I'm the handle

You're the flame and I'm the candle

Stand up all you lovers in the world

Stand up and be counted every boy and every girl

Stand up all you lovers in the world

We're starting up a brand new day

Before you read this, know that I have countless favorites. This is just one of the songs in the Qualapec Hall o' Fame.

Within a Broken Mirror~Unknown artist

Within a broken mirror,

I can see your reflection.

Tears roll down your face,

Tears roll down your face,

As your finger traces the edge of the new moon.

Who is that I'm calling out to?

I can see you walkin' away from me.

Time and time again,

Time and time again,

You will find me knocking on your door.

With my back pressed against the weight of the world,

And the speed of the night,

It felt as if a thread was snapping in two,

And I held onto you,

Held onto you,

Held onto you,

With all my might.

As you exchanged your unbalenced kisses with me,

I hope you can feel us coming closer too my love!

And may both your tears and your sorriful deceptions

come to rest in my heart!

Oh my love!

I just love that song

And I know we're only supposed to post one, but I just have to add another:

Smile Bomb.

I'm in a crowd, in a faceless town

I need to feel the touch of a friend.

In the country side I wander far and wide,

the isolation gets me again.

I don't know where to go! When I feel like cryin'

Oh my!

It's time to open myself, do something new.

I wanna stop and grow up anew.

Then suddenly my power and confidence starts

Swelling up, magically erupt.

And it's all because of kindness that I feel,

from people I don't even know!

Then suddenly, my intuition and my wisdom grow.

And then I know, that most of all I sense compassions

Wield into strangers wherever I go!

Thank you for waking me up!

The woman who sings that has an amazing voice :D

One of my favorite songs: Like We Never Loved At All by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw

You never looked so good

as you did last night,

underneath the city lights,

there walking with your friend,

laughing at the moon.

I swear you looked right through me.

But I’m still living with your goodbye,

and you’re just going on with your life.

How can you just walk on by

without one tear in your eye?

Don’t you have the slightest feelings left for me?

Maybe that’s just your way

of dealing with the pain,

forgetting everything

between our rise and fall

like we never loved at all.

You, I hear you’re doing fine.

Seems like you’re doing well

as far as I can tell.

Time is leaving us behind,

(time – leaving us behind)

another week has passed

and still I haven’t laughed yet.

So tell me, what your secret is

(I wanna know, I wanna know, I wanna know)

to letting go, letting go like you did,

like you did.

How can you just walk on by

without one tear in your eye?

Don’t you have the slightest feelings left for me?

Maybe that’s just your way

of dealing with the pain,

forgetting everything

between our rise and fall

like we never loved at all.

Did you forget the magic?

Did you forget the passion?

Oh, and did you ever miss me,

and long to kiss me?

Oh baby, baby.

Maybe that’s just your way

of dealing with the pain,

forgetting everything

between our rise and fall

like we never loved at all

Gotta love Stevie Ray Vaghan!! Damn he's cool!!

Well you’ve heard about love givin’ sight to the blind

My baby’s lovin’ cause the sun to shine

She’s my sweet little thang....she’s my pride and joy

She’s my sweet little baby....I’m her little lover boy

Yeah I love my baby....heart and soul

Love like ours won’t never grow old

She’s my sweet little thang....she’s my pride and joy

She’s my sweet little baby....I’m her little lover boy

Yeah I love my lady....she’s long and lean

You mess with her....you’ll see a man get mean

She’s my sweet little thang....she’s my pride and joy

She’s my sweet little baby....I’m her little lover boy

Well I love my baby....like the finest wine

Stick with her until the end of time

She’s my sweet little thang....she’s my pride and joy

She’s my sweet little baby....I’m her little lover boy

Yeah I love my baby....heart and soul

Love like ours won’t never grow old

She’s my sweet little thang....she’s my pride and joy

She’s my sweet little baby....I’m her little lover boy

And Gretchen Wilson's Chariot!! Yee-haw I love it!

When it's all over but the shoutin'

When God the Father's done his final accounting

And I find out that I made the cut

Boys i'm gonna get me a chariot

Yeah a big gold eagle on the hood

Trans Am chariot

Gonna find my great granddaddy

That peace pipe smokin' Cherokee

Gonna get him all schooled

In them mags and struts

Then we gonna drag us a chariot

Yeah a big gold eagle painted on the hood chariot

Good lord Witchita

Sure hope Samson ain't no law dog

Redneck you better out run him

Damn sure don't wanna get caught

Crime what crime

We was all hopped up on new wine

And mama's gonna kill me if I get

Kicked out of the choir

But you just gotta run them chariots

Now here's a little story happened long ago

One day Ezekiel went out for a stroll

Walkin' by the river low and behold

Down came 4 angels in a Cadillac gold

He said "swing down sweet chariot come on and give me a ride"

So they scooped em up, the rig was souped up, man it had TV's inside

Ol' Zeke was surprised cause his eyes had seen beyond

His wildest dreams, He'd go on to see a thousand things

We'll paint that number eight on the driver's side

That's how old I was when I gave Jesus my life

I stepped right up and got washed in the blood

Just a little kid singin' 'bout a chariot

Good lord Witchita

Sure hope Samson ain't no law dog

Redneck you better out run him

Damn sure don't wanna get caught

Crime what crime

We was all hopped up on new wine

And mama's gonna kill me if I get

Kicked out of the choir

But you just gotta run them chariots

When it's all over but the shoutin'...

Right now my favorite song is Gary Allan's Best I Ever Had. It strikes a chord in me. I know this song has been done by many different artists, but his vocals really bring out the emotion in it.

So you sailed away

Into a grey sky morning

Now I'm here to stay

Love can be so boring

Nothing's quite the same now

I just say your name now

Chorus

But it's not so bad

You're only the best I ever had

You don't want me back

You're just the best I ever had

So you stole my world

Now I'm just a phony

Remembering the girl

Leaves me down and lonely

Send it in a letter

Make yourself feel better

Chorus

But it's not so bad

You're only the best I ever had

You don't need me back

You're just the best I ever had

And it may take some time to

Patch me up inside

But I can't take it so I

Run away and hide

And I may find in time that

You were always right

You're always right

So you sailed away

Into a grey sky morning

Now I'm here to stay

Love can be so boring

What was it you wanted

Could it be I'm haunted

Chorus

But it's not so bad

You're only the best I ever had

I don't want you back

You're just the best I ever had

The best I ever had

The best I ever had

"Good Ol' Days" by Phil Vassar:

I work my job all the way to the weekend

Call all my buddies, ask where you been

Let's get together somewhere, seven o'clock

Wanna pop a top, pop a top

Wanna go, wanna roll, wanna rock it

Hey, hey, hey let's make some good ole days

Hey, hey, hey let's make some good ole days

That's right,

Let's make some good ole days tonight

Hey, baby, what's the chance you dancing with me?

Been watching you all night

Like what I see

That big old moon is shining down from above

You know it's stirring up magic stuff

This could be the night we fall in love

Hey, hey, hey let's make some good ole days

Hey, hey, hey let's make some good ole days

That's right,

Let's make some good ole days tonight

Ice cold, wild free

Night's young for you and me

Let's do something that we'd never dare

Something we'll be talking about in our rockin chair

Hey, hey, hey let's make some good ole days (6x)

My favorite song is "swing lifeaway" because it reminds me of my bestfriend that i have had since kindergarten I am now in the 8th grade for the 2nd time. He went on to ninth so I decided to be stupid and run away from my problems wich u really cant do and ne ways I moved to my dads. I miss my best friend alot. When I listen to this song it reminds me of the good ol' days. Oh P.s. Im not gay the lyrics do say something about holding hands. SO here are the lyrics

Its by "Rise Against" Its called "Swing life away"

Am I loud and clear, or am I breaking up?

Am I still your charm, or am I just bad luck?

Are we getting closer, or are we just getting more lost?

I'll show you mine if you show me yours first

Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse

Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

We live on front porches and swing life away,

We get by just fine here on minimum wage

If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,

I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

I've been here so long, I think that it's time to move

The winter's so cold, summer's over too soon

Let's pack our bags and settle down where palm trees grow

I've got some friends, some that I hardly know

But we've had some times, I wouldn't trade for the world

We chase these days down with talks of the places that we will go

We live on front porches and swing life away,

We get by just fine here on minimum wage

If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,

I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand....until you hold my hand

I'll show you mine if you show me yours first

Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse

Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

We live on front porches and swing life away,

We get by just fine here on minimum wage

If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,

I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

Swing life away [x4]

This is the greatest song ever! Makes me laugh every time.

The Mississippi Squirrel Revival

Ray Stevens

Well, when I was a kid I'd take a trip every summer down the Mississippi

To visit my granny in her antebellum world

I'd run barefooted all day long climbin' trees free as a song

And one day I happened to catch myself a squirrel

Well, I stuffed him down in an old shoe box, punched a couple of holes in the top

And when Sunday came I snuck him into Church

I was sittin' way back in the very last pew showin' him to my good buddy Hugh

When that squirrel got loose and went totally berserk

Well, what happened next is hard to tell

Some thought it was heaven others thought it was hell

But the fact that something was among us was plain to see

As the choir sang "I Surrender All" the squirrel ran up Harv Newlan's coveralls

Harv leaped to his feet and said, "Somethin's got a hold on me", Yeow!

Chorus

The day the squirrel went berserk

In the First Self-Righteous Church

In the sleepy little town of Pascagoula

It was a fight for survival that broke out in revival

They were jumpin' pews and shoutin' Hallelujah!

Well, Harv hit the aisles dancin' and screamin'

Some thought he had religion others thought he had a demon

And Harv thought he had a weed eater loose in his Fruit-Of-The-Looms

He fell to his knees to plead and beg and the squirrel ran out of his britches leg

Unobserved to the other side of the room

All the way down to the amen pew where sat Sister Bertha better-than-you

Who'd been watchin' all the commotion with sadistic glee

But you should've seen the look in her eyes

When that squirrel jumped her garters and crossed her thighs

She jumped to her feet and said "Lord have mercy on me"

As the squirrel made laps inside her dress

She began to cry and then to confess to sins that would make a sailor blush with shame

She told of gossip and church dissension but the thing that got the most attention

Was when she talked about her love life and then she started naming names

Chorus

The day the squirrel went berserk

In the First Self-Righteous Church

In that sleepy little town of Pascagoula

It was a fight for survival that broke out in revival

They were jumpin' pews and shoutin' Hallelujah!

Well seven deacons and the pastor got saved,

Twenty-five thousand dollars was raised and fifty volunteered

For missions in the Congo on the spot

Even without an invitation there were at least five hundred rededications

And we all got baptized whether we needed it or not

Now you've heard the bible story I guess

How he parted the waters for Moses to pass

Oh the miracles God has wrought in this old world

But the one I'll remember 'til my dyin' day

Is how he put that Church back on the narrow way

With a half crazed Mississippi squirrel

Chorus

The day the squirrel went berserk

In the First Self-Righteous Church

In the sleepy little town of Pascagoula

It was a fight for survival that broke out in revival

They was jumpin' pews and shoutin' Hallelujah!

right now my favorite song is "Sugar We're Going Down" by Fallout Boy

"Sugar We're Going Down"

Am I more than you bargained for yet

I've been dying to tell you anything you want to hear

Cause that's just who I am this week

Lie in the grass, next to the mausoleum

I'm just a notch in your bedpost

But you're just a line in a song

(A notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song)

Drop a heart, break a name

We're always sleeping in, and sleeping for the wrong team

We're going down, down in an earlier round

And Sugar, we're going down swinging

I'll be your number one with a bullet

A loaded God complex, **** it and pull it

[x2]

Is this more than you bargained for yet

Oh don't mind me I'm watching you two from the closet

Wishing to be the friction in your jeans

Isn't it messed up how I'm just dying to be him

I'm just a notch in your bedpost

But you're just a line in a song

(Notch in your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song)

Drop a heart, break a name

We're always sleeping in, and sleeping for the wrong team

We're going down, down in an earlier round

And Sugar, we're going down swinging

I'll be your number one with a bullet

A loaded God complex, **** it and pull it

[x2]

Down, down in an earlier round

And Sugar, we're going down swinging

I'll be your number one with a bullet

A loaded God complex, **** it and pull it

We're going down, down in an earlier round (Take aim at myself)

And Sugar, we're going down swinging (Take back what you said)

I'll be your number one with a bullet (Take aim at myself)

A loaded God complex, **** it and pull it

We're going down, down (down, down)

Down, down (down, down)

We're going down, down (down, down)

A loaded God complex, **** it and pull it

We're going down, down in an earlier round (Take aim at myself)

And Sugar, we're going down swinging (Take back what you said)

I'll be your number one with a bullet (Take aim at myself)

A loaded God complex, **** it and pull it

"Cowboy Days" By Terri Clark

I was the thrid alto on the second row of the First Baptist Church choir

I was keeper of the minutes for the Tri-Delts, in charge of the homecomin' bonfire

I was straight "A", straight-laced, level headed as they come

And parked at the Sonic, isn't it ironic, when my whole world came crashing down.

One slot over was a [bull rider] givin' me his George Straight smileAnd before I knew, Miss Goodie-Two-Shoes was two-steppin', runnin' wild

Chorus:

Back in my cowboys days, Lord, what a honky tonkin' haze

He was forbidden fruit in them tight wranglers and boots

It was all dangerous fun, we were two outlaws on the run

Tastin' that rodeo dust, two unlikelies in love

I swore I'd never give him up, back in my cowboy days

Well, Momma said, "He's crazy." Daddy said, "He's lazy."

Sister said, "Does he have a brother?"

Well, I changed my dress and who woulda guessed

I'd be wearin' them jeans and ropers

It was passionite nights and dashboard lights

Nobody was watchin' the clock

It was love in the makin

Eggs and bacon at the Seventy-Six truck stop

Back in my cowboys days, Lord, what a honky tonkin' haze

He was forbidden fruit in them tight wranglers and boots

It was all dangerous fun, we were two outlaws on the run

Tastin' that rodeo dust, two unlikelies in love

I swore I'd never give him up, back in my cowboy days

Sometimes I lay here thinkin' bout him

And laugh about my crazy past

Then I roll over and kiss that [bull rider]

Who'da thought it'd ever last

Back in my cowboy days, Lord, what a honky tonkin haze

Cowboy

I like the song by Joe Nichols called "Tequila makes her clothes fall off".

I love this song, sounds like me too, when I'm having a good time with the right music , O Lord help us all!! (LOL)

Only Tequila I can handle, it's Gin & Tonic that does the trick :D

Lov,

JM

She said I’m going out with my girlfriends

Margaritas at the holiday inn

Oh have mercy my only thought

Was tequila makes her clothes fall off

I told her put an extra layer on

I know what happens when she drinks Patron

Her closets missing half the things she bought

Yea tequila makes her clothes fall off

She’ll start by kicking out of her shoes

Lose an earring in her drink

Leave her jacket in the bathroom stall

Drop a contact down the sink

Them panty hose aint gonna last too long

If the dj puts bon jovi on

She might come home in a table cloth

Yea tequila makes her clothes fall off

She can handle any champagne brunch

A bridal shower with Bacardi punch

Jello shooters full of Smirnoff

But tequila makes her clothes fall off

She’ll start by kicking out of her shoes

Lose an earring in her drink

Leave her jacket in the bathroom stall

Drop a contact down the sink

She don’t mean nothing

She's just havin fun

Tomorrow she say oh how have I done

friends will joke about the stuff she lost

Yea tequila makes her clothes fall off

Oh tequila makes her clothes fall off

Oh tequila makes her clothes fall off
