Had some free time the other day so I stopped by Walmart on the way home and grabbed a bottle of Meguiar's PlastX cleaner, figured for $7 it's worth a shot instead of blowing $30 on one of those headlight restorer kits. I wasn't expecting a miracle but I'm pretty happy with the results for half an hour's worth of elbow grease . What my headlights looked like before is on top and after is on the bottom https://previews.dropbox.com/p/thumb/AA_tUGAEmsmO_U4UJNunpJbF0PAQXB7xD6WyItWy0Uz08_cI-4_pZfEafwVMvOezWfqZzeF5gOujPX_WTtu1Hm9XIdc3eGxrpP7Sj14IHdoh-6IA71NnvRcnJwkjfhEhugtpam-cg9SpLXud79RbaYKUgrWLH4HfyT6ujp3KiFSefGkDoFcna5JwYbHkjq_acTGJOu7oDxefVE121disCZoMva1Q_4lhmnrOI7vMN5NOKkavpiQjmu3arUHwZPJ6qf6OiAEQDoeJnV0V3L5_pywUP-tafm5o9BPsCQxx2n8oBGasoy30CyC3-O7kMDoZs0ogXABg0PZJ9lMFLsL9-u_wbJ-6kEohzkjnZAhZEpaqg40YFLG0c1-fPGs0qGNTt2w/p.jpeg?fv_content=true&size_mode=5

Probably would have come out even better if I bought one of those cloth drill attachments but I didn't want to wait till the drill batteries charged. If you have an older vehicle with headlights that don't look like new grab yourself a bottle and some gloves and a pack of microfiber towels if you don't have any laying around, it's well worth the time especially with the longer nights coming soon.

Here's the pics from the local Antique Mall of unique Dukes of Hazzard items

I might go back and get a few of these items if they haven't been sold.

Not a happy camper today. Yesterday had to pass on a job with a nice payday for a measly $20 job which basically paid for the new trim board, working for family sometimes doesn't pay off. Found out today that I probably won't be needed for the other job for the weekend as most of it will be done today. At least today I made nearly triple what I did yesterday for the few hours I had available today.

Seen 3 General Lee's at Walmart yesterday. One on the Dukes of Hazzard dvd set, one on a History if Cars puzzle and the 3rd was a hot wheels car monster truck. Even though the puzzle and HW car didn't have the rebel flag you could tell which tv car inspired them since they were both orange . Interesting even in this chaotic time the 'car that can't be named' likeness is still used to make money.

Also seen at Walmart a new Monopoly game, Jeff Foxworthy edition . Definitely getting that one for game night.

Big rivalry around this neck of the woods. The Steelers vs the Browns at 1:00 Sunday. It's been a long time since these teams have played each other when both of them had good records. The Steelers are 4-0 and the Browns are 4-1. Pittsburgh played one lass game so far because their opponent (Tenn) had too many covid cases.

A lot of drama here last week. Got woken up early by the crazy neighbors a few times and some other BS with them. Probably will end up getting a gun here soon to protect ourselves. We ended up complaining to someone higher up than our manager so we're hoping that might get something done since some of our other neighbors are also complaining too.

Was able to find a good hd stream of the Bathurst 1000 so I watched a few hours of that before I went to bed Saturday night. That was quite interesting to watch. Haven't seen much of a V8 supercars race since ABC/ESPN aired a Surfers Paradise race in connection with the Indycar race there several years ago. Nascar execs could learn a few things from that series.

Here's a tip if you're getting a new printer you might as well get a new computer if you're still using a Windows XP pc. Spent 2 hrs yesterday trying to install the new printer's drivers on one of my lawn client's old pc. Even stumped tech support too. Eventually figured out there was a lot of legacy junk from old printer's still installed on the PC that all had to be uninstalled. She was happy she didn't have to get a new pc.

I see on the news that things have ground to a halt in Ireland Hoss. How badly has that hurt you?

I seen that on the news last night too. I just don't see how that's gonna do any good other than hurt the economy more. Just make masks mandatory instead of closing everything.

Ohio's governor said going back into lockdown will be a last resort, hopefully we never get there. If only people would use common sense and follow the cdc's recommendations.

We've had a week on level 3 lockdown with parts of the country on level4, but now we're going to level 5 across the whole country for six weeks.

My work won't be affected as it's part of the construction sector, but all non-essential shops will be closing again (just when things were just starting to feel slightly more normal!). Schools are to remain open, but next week is their mid-term break. Restaurants and cafes will be open for take-away only. People who aren't going work are asked to stay at home unless they're exercising, and even when exercising we're confined to 5km (3.1 miles) from home (with fines coming in next week). Socialising is also pretty much banned with no visiting allowed to other households (even in the garden). The only exception being to meet one other household in a public place such as a park. Weddings and funerals can still go ahead with a maximum of 25 attendees (up from six and ten respectively in the original March lockdown).

So long as people don't panic buy this time around, I should be OK. I'll miss shopping for non-food items and going more than 5km from home, but otherwise I'll manage.

Spike - masks have been mandatory in shops and other public spaces for a couple of months, but we've gone from low double-digit daily new case numbers a few weeks ago to over 1,000 for the past week or so. We also had a period of about two weeks with only one or two deaths, but now we're getting over ten a day some days.

For awhile there it seemed like they were saying a vaccine was coming tomorrow but lately they've been acting like it could take years. Some things they never find a vaccine for so this thing could be with us for a long long time. The only way to get this mess fixed is to get on the CB and get ahold of Doc Petticord. Better call Doc Ableby too.

We just got back from Virginia visiting our daughter and grandsons for 3 days. The leaves down there and in south central Pennsylvania are fantastic, especially in the mountains where you can get great views. Up here by Lake Erie  a lot more leaves have fallen so we have passed the peak of beautiful colors. They still look pretty good in some places though. Erie County is pretty flat so we never get views as awesome as in the Appalacian Mountains.

The leaves here were beautiful about a week ago, but I didn't get any photos. I also missed a chance to photograph a rainbow this afternoon because I was driving.

We had a bank holiday here today, so I went for a walk down by the river - something I started when we first went into lockdown earlier in the year. I was doing it at least once each weekend, but I've missed the last two, once due to being busy and once due to being lazy! As the country started to reopen, the number of fellow walkers started to drop off, but there were plenty out today now that we're in lockdown again.

Today is a big day for my wife and I. 25 years years ago this evening we had our first date. It was a blind date and we knew right away we were meant to be together forever. It really was love at first sight. We would have liked to recreate the date tonight but the place we met had a fire a year ago and still hasn't reopened.

This past weekend was the craziest 48hrs of our lives. Apparently management got a lot of complaints about the troublemaker and decided to boot them out. There was a lot of yelling/screaming, threats made and cops even showed up a few times. Needless to say we pretty much locked ourselves in and barricaded the door, only leaving to go to work and grocery shopping. We even sent 'just in case' texts to relatives with links to videos our Ring doorbell camera caught to give to police. It has been peaceful since they've been gone but it's probably going to take a few days if not weeks for our stress level to go back to normal.

I'm so happy to hear that the jerk is out of there. Hopefully he'll go out in the woods and live alone and not terrorize anybody else.

Yeah it's been so quiet and peaceful the past week and a half :). Wife and I even fell asleep Saturday afternoon on the couch, been a long time since we were able to do that. Not dropping our guard though, the neighbor has snuck his buddy on the property before and we wouldn't put it past him to do it again. Chatted with the lady next door the other day and she was telling us of a recent run in with him before he got banned where he kept asking her if she was scared if him. She said she just ignored him and went into her apartment. October was a crazy freaking month.

Our Ring doorbell camera was worth every penny, all the threats it caught that weekend will be great evidence if we ever have to go to court again for that bozo. When we first bought it back in Spring I was apprehensive about it but we had to protect ourselves and show proof that we weren't the instigators. I'd definitely recommend getting one if you're thinking about getting home security cameras.

HossC I hope you're friend isn't going thru half of what we had to with his problem neighbor. Only advice I can offer is get a security camera that records video and audio if that is an option for him.

Weird weather week here... Sunny 60's-70's degree days forecasted through Sunday so when I'm not working I'm going to try and be outside as much as possible to enjoy it.

I think he's just being disturbed at odd hours and the police come round to see the neighbor from time to time (although the police knocked on his door in the middle of the night a few weeks ago for no good reason). Luckily, I don't think he's having any direct confrontations.

The weather is unbelievable. My neighbor asked him to help him with his roof so I'll be doing that all day tomorrow and my nephew is building a house so it sure is nice to get summer weather in November when trying to wrap up big projects. I ended up kayaking on Lake Erie today. It was a little rough but not too bad.
