Rare and Behind the Scenes Pictures of the Dukes of Hazzard

Looking at the hood standing up my best guess is that it is from the jump over the fruitstall on Midwest Street. The one where Enos and Rosco both jump and Enos lands on the trunk of Rosco's car.

It looks like the General has light front and rear damage, plus the rear window has gone, but that doesn't narrow it down much :). Cooter's using his yellow tow truck, so that's basically season 3 or 4.

Well, it could be the jump from the episode Hoss told me but I cant be sure. The shot isn't long enough to see if the General's rear window gets shattered. Also, I cant think of any other jump on Hazzard Square in season 3 or 4. :(

Not really a Dukes of Hazzard behind the scenes but it shows a nice piece of Laramie Street.

Behind the tree's on the left side of the Courthouse in this picture was used sometimes as a hideout for criminals on the Dukes. It was used as the cotton mill in the first reunion and the coffin works in one of the episodes. I believe it was used a lot of more times but I forgot them.

Also, on the right side of the courthouse a little bit further back was Hogg's heavenly acres and the small church where Emery Potter and Maybel tried to get married twice.

I wonder why they didn't sell of parts of these cars, I would buy one.

I believe this was somewhere in season 4.

There were a few times when Cooter towed the General back to Hazzard Square after crashes/situations further afield. It's been a while since I've watched seasons 3 and 4, so I'm afraid I can't give you much more to go on.

Nice courthouse picture - is that the 'Reunion' Boar's Nest (below) on the right?. From memory, I think the Coffin Works appeared in three episodes. For those of y'all who haven't made it all the way through the Hazzard Square thread, you can find the section on Laramie Street (including the church and Heavenly Acres) here.

Well, I look into it when I arrive in those two seasons. I'm at season 1 now so it will take some time. :-?

nice thought Hoss, and your right!

Here are three screen confirming it.

You can clearly see the window of the courthouse here.

Also, you can see Granny Annie's/Rosco's house in the background.

The courthouse on the left and the boars nest garage on the right.

And for if you don't believe the garage is from the Boars Nest here you can see the logo and the garage.

Looks to me like the fake General from Double Dukes (S04E02) which was flipped in the end of the episode. Both that car and the one in the picture miss the rear view window and '69 reverse lights.

My best guess is that this is during filming of 'High Octane', but the colour red and blue Top and John are wearing is different so it cant be.

During filming of 'One-Armed Bandits' in Georgia.

This was listed as a Dukes of Hazzard behind the scenes but the only similarity I see are two 1969 Dodge Chargers.

This seems to be at Saugus Speedway.

During filming of 'happy Birthday General Lee'.

Notice the Maroso logo? Its a real company selling car and engine parts.

Jack Gill and the General Lee. This is said to be just before the barn jump for 'In this corner. Luke Duke'.

9284889143_2483409d3b_o.jpg

I don't know where I read it but I read somewhere that he was actually supposed to jump over the barn. But that story doesn't sound very good to me when you look at how the ramp is placed.

9287665022_3b9c46b2db_o.jpg

does anyone actually know where this jump was done?

The picture was taken on (the long gone) Western Street in the Warner Brothers back lot, so they could be General Lee's being stored just off of Hazzard Square. Here's the same building as it appeared in 'The Hack of Hazzard' when the street became Shoveltown:

Wow, thank you for that Hoss! You say it is the Western Set, So this is Laramie Street? or the Mexican city you can sometimes see from Midwest Street?

I thought it would be at a movie ranch instead of the WB backlot as it looked to rural for the backlot.

Here's an aerial view from 1980. Western Street was right next to Midwest(ern) Street, behind the row of houses containing Boss Hogg's house. Mexican Street was already a parking lot by 1980 (as can be seen in 'Southern Comfurts') - it was torn down sometime in the mid-70s. Laramie street was over on the eastern side of the lot. In the Hazzard Square thread there's pictures of Western Street from 'The Hack of Hazzard' and pictures of Western Street from 'The Invaders' episode 'The Miracle'.

Again, thank you Hoss. I thought Mexican Street was Western Street, I didn't even know there existed a Western Street at WB. wasn't the Mexican Street parking lot used in carnival of Thrills as the Cedar City Fair Grounds?

Also, I believe Western Street was sometimes visible in the Dukes. Here's a jump from S6E10 'Enos's Last Chance' showing a building of Western Street in the background.

Sometimes you have big pictures, sometimes you have small ones.

This was during filming of 'Daisy's Song', this is in the Atlanta open air Theater.

I believe this is from the episode where Bo and Luke have to drive a truck which contains a casino, the man on the right had gambled away all his money there and now the dukes are helping him out.

The Cedar City Fair Grounds parking lot was behind the block where the bank is, just off the top left corner of my recent aerial picture.

The building in your animation is at the end of Western Street, and was seen in quite a few episodes. Rosco even went inside it to spy on the Dukes in 'Route 7-11'. I guess it survived because it blocked the end of the street nicely. It's since been replaced by a much larger building.

The parking lot where Mexican Street used to be was in 'Southern Comfurts' (see below). On the left you can see the back of the building at the end of Western Street. Both the Mexican Street parking lot and the one below it have now been repaced by offices (you can briefly see the lower one playing a hospital during the chase in the 'Hazzard in Hollywood' movie), with parking moved to a new structure just south of Forest Lawn Drive.

I think you're mixing up your Stovalls. The man who lost his money on the casino truck in 'Route 7-11' was Dewey Stovall. The man on the right is Bill Erwin who played Clarence Stovall in 'The Great Bank Robbery'. Boss cheated him out of his pension by firing him the day before he retired, so he robbed to bank to make up for it. If you look in the background, the 'Office' sign on Cooter's was higher up in earlier seasons and there were license plates over the door.

Ah, yes. Thank you for the information. :D I always mix this guy up with the man who was in jail which boss wants him to snooker into again by touching the red box of county funds. I believe his name was ector, but I forgot the name of the episode. :-?

This is from the pilot episode, when I go to IMDB to check the airing date for 'One-Armed Bandits' they display 5th of June 1981. That Ain't right! But when I look at the airing dates by season it says 26th of January 1979. This means it was the Promotional for 'One-armed bandits'.

I always thought Toys R Us opened somewhere in 2001, but thats probably because it opened its first store in 2001 over here in the Netherlands. I never heard of it before anyway. :p

There's some Family Feud screengrabs in the trivia thread - you can see them here.

The Toys R Us name first appeared in the US in 1957 (thanks Wikipedia ;)). They came to the UK back in 1985, and I seem to remember nagging my parents to take me to one (I'd been to one in the US in 1983).

thank you for that Hoss, i should search if that part of the show is on youtube.

Here in the Netherlands they are all gone since 2009, I cant find anything about when they started in the netherlands though they are all gone and changed into something called 'ToysXL' as the stores are quite big.

Ever heard of the Wheelstander or dragster made for the last episode? It was never used on the show as probably everyone knows. :-P
