Amen to that. . .just heard it on the radio this morning and I'm like ehh. . .seriously. . .I don't know what they're doing since breaking up. . .actually did good things for Big and Rich in my opinion, but B&D heck no. . .so much more tragic.

i know!!! one of my all time favorite country bands are fading...AHHH

I know it is TRAGIC put out a sos if ya want maryanne. here's the song I wrote in honor of them. . .kinda to the tune of their 'Play Somethin Country, but different. Opinions welcome

Play something B&D

I was sittin in a bar thinkin about him

good ol' boy that i'd been missin

next thing I know what did I see

Ronnie and Kix it was really them.

I ain't in a mood for just anything

So what you boys say?

Play a little country

In a B&D styled kinda way.

I was thinking I was crazy

But then I saw him smile

And said sure we will

We’ll stay and play a while.

I ain't in a mood for just anything

So what you boys say?

Play a little country

In a B&D styled kinda way.

After awhile it got carried away

Just the kind of things those boys do

I’d say just put a little Hillbilly Deluxe in it

Y’all can come back and play any day.

I ain't in a mood for just anything

So what you boys say?

Play a little country

In a B&D styled kinda way.

From what I've read, I don't think they are breaking up like to go on their own singin n such...I think they are just retiring(sp).

From one place I read their website I think....

MESSAGE FROM BROOKS AND DUNN | 8/10/09

To Our Fans:

After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have

agreed as a duo that it's time call it a day. This ride has been

everything and more than we could ever have dreamed.... We owe it all

to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just

time.

We will release our #1's and then some" on September 8th and bid

you farewell one last time in 2010, with The Last Rodeo Tour...(dates to be

announced).

Brooks & Dunn"

But like I said, that is just what I got from the message...I just looked on countryweekly.com and it says they are spliting up....So yea...Here is the link to the countryweekly story: http://www.countryweekly.com/brooks_and_dunn/news/4074

But I am saddened to hear this, I really have enjoyed their music through the years...

Oh yea cool song Elly May!

I heard it first from my mom on Monday night who heard it on the radio and then again from someone at work who also heard it on the radio. I am very saddened by this. I can't think of Country Music without them - they are such an amazing act, very talented, and they keep it COUNTRY if you know what I mean. They are my favorite duo / band and am having a hard time believing that this is the end for them. :(

Well I hope that they will enjoy their retirement, I guess after twenty long years of providing us with their music, they deserve a break...deserve to do their own thing. But still. . .:(

LOL Roger...I think just right after the radio had said something of Charlie Daniels being somehwere around here, I read your post there. Well lucky for you it sounds like they're still together.

Still can't envision Country without Brooks and Dunn! I've always enjoyed their music and their style. It is sad to see Country losing another original Country artist(s) that had kept it country over the years. They deserve the break and to do whatever they want, but that still don't help me feel any better. :(
