  1. You can easily get rid of the sidebar by clicking on the double arrow. This also has the benefit of giving more width to the regular forum, and thus reduces the amount of orange on-screen. The ads that I object to are the ones inside the first post on each page - they wordwrap the text and scale all images in that post to 740 px wide.

Thank you Hoss for the suggestion. I did get rid of the sidebar and the forums got much wider... And yes the ads in the posts themselves are just plain ridiculous.

  2. Hi Gang,

I'm afraid I can keep silent no longer about the brand new and improved forums. I liked the old set up better because I didn't go blind every time I logged onto it. The orange is too orange, I love Halloween, but not every single day. Another thing I must comment on is the fact that the Google ads all over Hazzardnet have now quadrupled. I come to Hnet to read the posts, not the Yellowpages. I am pretty disappointed with how overly busy this place looks now, do we really need the top posts on the side? Do we really need to have 10 million ads everywhere? Between the hosing down of Hazzardnet with orange, and the tiny font that looks like ants with white painted feet tracked across my monitor, I admit I don't come as often as I used to. Is there any way we can change the color and the font size, or maybe just cut the amount of ads here in half? This is just my opinion, and hopefully it doesn't get me banned, but I really liked the old Hazzardnet lay out better....

  3. Maybe Garrett can join y'all in finishing this!

Alex, the hard copy version posted anywhere or can the file be sent to email, please? Thank you!

The hard copy version isnt posted anywhere, I've got the copy on my laptop. What email address do I send it to?

  4. Being the courthouse only across the street from the clinic, Doc leans against her porch post, nursing a cup of coffee, watching the not-unusual antics of Coltrane and company.

"It wouldn't be a usual Hazzard afternoon without an impromptu police chase."

Unable to resist...she raises her voice to the two men.

"Be glad its not me chasing you, Brian, but either way you may end up in handcuffs"

*looks over at the clinic and the blond doctor with the front row seat then glances at Brian* you know, she makes a good point, do you happen to have a spare handcuff key? Or would the Deputy really cuff you? *thinks about that a moment and grins* mmmm being handcuffed by MaryAnne.... *grin slowly widens* doesnt sound so bad after all....

  5. *grins* "Sounds good to me. I'll wait until you're comin' out of the building before I take off. Can't have too much of a head start, it wouldn't be sporting."

*after MaryAnne retreats into the county building, strolls over to Alex* "You feel like riding shotgun? I halfta warn ya, Alex, MaryAnne and I are both outta practice and this could be a sloppy chase."

*looks at Brian* Sure! I'll be happy to ride Shotgun... *grins* and I know you and MaryAnne are a bit rusty, but its okay, I think we'll be just fine...

(agreed, we should do another thread. Just to show some sense of decorum. Alex, wanna do the honors with your reply?)

(the reply is in the General Discussion, and is called Hazzard Shenanigans)

  7. *Smiles and removes my stetson politely to MaryAnne.* Pleasure to see ya deputy. As we all can see "Luke or Anyone" was last cued, whos gonna get us restarted?

Well Min was the last to post, so I think the "cue anyone" means just that! I think we may need to hear from the outlaw, Black Jack, don't you Brian? *grins*

  8. I do not have an ETA for the forums upgrade. As Mufn noted here the forums software purchase is on hold while the county raises funds for it. (Y'all can check out the ChipIn widget on the home page of HNet, on the left hand side if any y'all would like to contribute.)

Since Alex has a hard copy of the story in progress and it seems like most of the original players are available to particpate, I suggest we carry on and if Alex is willing he can add our new posts to the existing hard copy. (Thank ya Alex!)

Of course I'll add the new posts! Over 300 so far, I wonder if the story will get to 500 pages by the time we are done... *chuckles*

  9. Oh, don't worry MaryAnne, we'll ease back into thangs...I was just sayin' that --- *turns to answer MaryAnne, while still having the garden hose in hand going full blast, and unintentionally soaks her completely*

--- that, uh....ooops! Alex, hold this!!

*hands Alex the still-running garden hose and takes off running* Welcome baaaaack!!

*Alex watches then his eyes widen at the saturated Deputy then being presented the hose... he looks down at it then drops it* I er... Brian has hose control issues...

  10. See, this is what Chet brings to the table. He can ruin any occasion. I appreciate that about him.

You, Alex...you used to be a decent enemy, but now...alas.

Yeah we ended up being brothers... *chuckles* still though, no one can threaten me the way you can... and thats true even to this day!

  11. Fine, awright, I admit I'm happy to see Chet back. Without my friends, and my enemies, and all those who fall somewhere between...where would I be? :D

Okay Brian, since you were man enough to admit it, I'll be man enough to admit that I see your admission! *grins*

  12. Alex! This is...uh...overkill. I was thinking about a car chase, not immediate destruction of county property. Though, I gotta hand it to ya for e-fficiency. I nevah thought about wreckin' the patrol car before the chase.

*fetches a length of garden house from the county building, and turns on the water to hose down the patrol car* Let's think about this. MaryAnne's been gone awhile, maybe we should go easy on her until she's back in the groove.

HEY!! Brian!!! *The blond man sees Brother whip out his big hose and sprays down the car...* but but but... i have this big bag of marshmallows we were going to roast! *pouts* We could have given MaryAnne one...made her a nice smore!

  13. GAAAAH!!! That's goin' a bit too far. Still, they go through these cars like crazy anyhow... then again, if her lunch is still in the glovebox, she's gonna be a mite upset.

Well hell I'm not doing this on my own ya know! May I borrow your Zippo? *grins* its going to be a hot time in the ol' Hazzard tonight!

  14. Ohhh Im alive and well thank you very much. I would have to freshin up my memory on the current events of this story as I too have been away for a time. It was a fantastic story and tons of fun to write, it would be cool to finish it.

*Tips my stetson.* Count me in.

To quote Dr. McCoy from Star Trek...

    Oh... JOY!....

  15. Sounds like fun, but I don't think MaryAnne cares what we do anymore. Ya know the last time I tried to get in trouble, nobody noticed. Is there a worse insult?

Youre right... *grins as the blond man pours gasoline all over the Deputy's patrol car* guess I might have to do something to get some attention..

    Got a light? *Grins*

  16. 300 pages! GAAAAAH!!

Wow, the kind of time we had back then, eh?

Ya know funny enough, I got ahold of Chet tonight, or vise versa, so maybe this thing aint' totally in the dust. Keep yer fingers crossed.

Yeah over 300! I think the last time I saw the file it was like 370 something. So Chet lives huh? Well if he's willing maybe we can finish this RR after all.

    Alex

  17. Alas, there are many unfinished stories. Over the years so many people have moved on and had major life changes that the old writing crowd is busted up.

Been gone for a few months myself. Feel like a ghost here, haunting the place with my return. I'd love to see Buckshot completed, even if we have to do it offline. I wouldn't suggest getting into it now because there's a pending Forums upgrade. Wouldn't be a bad idea to create a backup copy of this one Alex, if you haven't already.

    Hey hey Brian!

Good to see you again pal. I do have a hard copy of Buckshot and its over 300 pages! I think we do need to finish it even if people arent around anymore... offline might be the best option.

    Alex

  18. I see what you mean. This is good stuff.

Great story huh? Brian and I had the best time, and some of the best stuff we ever wrote together is in this round robin. I think it would be really great to finish, even though some people that were in it aren't around that much anymore. Glad you're enjoying it Roger...
