  1. Actually, I think Alex should cover Halloween - he's scary enough!
  2. Around here she probably is related to Nasty....or maybe she's an Elf???? She's magical after all.
  3. Okay, I've been browbeat (!) into joining the challenge - no clue what I'll write, but you'll have a story by the end of March. LS3
  4. Harry, Keep fighting the good fight. They say that laughter is the best medicine and Dukes is still one of the best shows around for a good old chuckle. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Hope to see you here on the forums to stay in touch with all of us. LS3
  5. Brian, I see you engaging in some butt-kissing of your own...good idea. Way to go Commander on 10 years of the best DOH sight around!
  6. I work in a call center for a life insurance company.
  7. Brian Coltrane! I thought this was a G-rated board, or at least thread. *Grinning* Gotta say I like it though!
  8. Pendragon, We do understand that things in life have changed. Having seen the emails going around I don't think anyone is trying to put a timeline on anything. If everyone takes it one step at a time I do believe things will get better for all involved. Thank you for taking the time to make the efforts. You have been missed and while I can't speak for everyone, I know that I will be glad to talk to you when you can be around and to stay in touch with you here on HNet. LS3
  9. No kidding Brian...this is a family friendly site...behave yourself or you'll have to kick yourself off the boards! Though the Hazzard Hedonism travel package sounds like a heck of an idea, sign me up! LS3
  10. Okay...I missed the Ghost post challenge. So I guess I'll throw my elf-hat into the ring. LOL LS3
  11. Maybe I shouldn't put my opinion in, but I'm going to anyway... Things get said in anger, and in frustration, and just because we're human. I won't point fingers at anyone or anythig, but I personally would like to see the olive branch extended again between Pendragon and Alex... The thing is that extending it is only half the equation...it has to be accepted openly, and with grace. I would hope that a friendship as strong as yours was would not be torn apart, as it appears to be now. But to all those involved, you are all my friends, you will continue to be so - even if I am just a frustrated human on occasion. LS3
  12. Okay....as one of the involved parties, I'm sticking my two cents worth in - public or private, an apology is an apology, and as I've already done so in private, I'm now publicly welcoming Pendragon back. We don't all need to go into the details on this site, but...I'm glad to welcome Pendragon back to the HNet family. Much Mush. LS3
  13. Lori, That was a wonderful paper - I hope it does very well in class. Getting back to the thread...I can't really put into words what the Dukes means to me. Ever since it first aired it has been a part of my life. I remember watching the original run - from the first part of the opening, until the end of the end-credits, every week. I know that I must have stopped watching when Coy and Vance came on - and I returned with Bo and Luke. After the first run I couldn't necessarily remember every plot, or everything that happened, but the lessons I learned and the sense of family I felt stayed with me long after the last episode. I remember my excitement when the first reunion movie came out - I couldn't wait to see it. I sat in front of the TV with all the anticipation I'd had as a kid, waiting for that orange car to go flying through the air. My life changed drastically between the time the first reunion aired and the second one did. I lost some people who were very dear to me, including my father, and I gained other people who have become incredibly dear in their own right. And most of those newer friendships, kinships, sprang up around a common love of this very uncommon television show that if the critics had had their way would never have seen more than one episode. The Dukes has been a part of my life since the first episode -and I am so glad to have it as part of my life still. It will always be my favorite show - and much more than that. It will always be a part of me.
  14. I kind of like this song...shocked a couple of friends a few weeks ago when I said it as it came on - since I'm normally not into Kid Rock...but this one just got me. I agree with Lukas_KD, it's a great song to tap your toes to - and those are my favorite at this time of year.
  15. I just don't know about Batman at Dukesfest. That's like going to a Rascal Flatts show and having Ozzy opening for them. I saw Adam West at a car show a couple of years ago, he wanted $25 for a black and white picture. Unless he lowers his prices for Dukesfest, I can't see many Dukes fans wanting to pay that kind of money for a Batman photo when most of the Dukes photos are much cheaper.
  16. You make some very good points, Brian. They could have done a lot more to tie into the original - especially if they were truly going for a continuation theme. It was good seeing Michael, but it was disappointing to see the original KITT in parts...and it was a great disservice to my second favorite TV car. If they make a new show, I'll give it a chance, as long as I have my boxed sets of the original to fall back on when I need them.
  17. Okay, I need to jump in with my two cents on this show. I admit, I didn't like it. But it wasn't about the car so much as it was about what they did (or didn't do) with the car and the storyline. I've read fanfic that was better written. A lot better written. The plot, what there was of it, was confusing, where it wasn't trite. They were twenty minutes in and I was still trying to figure out what the main point of the story was...gripping, it wasn't. There were extra scenes and wasteful ones...reference the two women in bed. I don't care if they show something like that if it advances the storyline somehow, but I couldn't see that it had any relevance whatsoever. There were no car stunts to speak of. I could get an old beaten up whatever and learn to do the few stunts that they did do. There was nothing worthy of the supercar that KITT is supposed to be. The fancy color trick was great....if you're into that sort of thing. But if that's the extent of KITT's abilities then they don't have much to work with for a new series. Now, on the plus side. I enjoyed the very last scene of the movie - and not because it was almost over! I thought it was well-written and well done. There was a bit of cohesiveness among the characters which seemed to be missing through the rest of the movie. With that scene, I could see them making a go of a new series...and I might even watch. Unfortunately, that cohesion was missing through the rest of the movie - which is just too bad.
  18. Hey y'all. I just heard that John was on the Today show this morning. If any of you missed it, the interview is posted on the Today show website. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/6062492/ Scroll all the way down on the page and the link to the video is on the right-hand side. Enjoy! LS3
  19. I found this article on MSN and thought it might interest more than a few people on this site. http://www.slate.com/id/2176247/?GT1=10538 Enjoy! LS3
  20. I have to say, I agree with everything Brian said, and more... Yes, this is a good movie to have in your Dukes collection, and I also give John credit for making it...but it is not what I would call a good movie. It doesn't even really feel like a home movie... It rides the line between professional movie and home movie a little too much, it doesn't really feel like one or the other. And unfortunately technically it lacks as well...the audio doesn't always match the video...which happens occasionally with even the best shows, but this was pretty off in some places...I would have liked the movie better even just if the audio and video mixed a bit better. But I do give John credit, he worked hard to get this out there, in the public...the Dukes references are many...and it's fun to watch it just for that. It takes a lot to put so much of yourself out there, and I applaud John for doing it. As for the sequel, I will likely own that - again, because it is a piece of Dukes of Hazzard.
