  1. lost_sheep posted 'Life in a Northern Town' over on the Musical Chairs thread yesterday. That reminded me of the following dance track from 1997 that samples
of that song by Dream Academy.

    Sunchyme - Dario G

I found a video for this song on another website.

I like the original Life in a Northern Town too...but I had heard the remake on the radio on the way home from work, so it was the one in my brain.

(Great Video - thanks for posting it!)

  2. I have to say that I agree with the admin, in this instance. I don't think the word mafia is a good reflection on any group that is representing Hazzard County. I'm no one 'important' in the fandom, but the fandom has been important to me, and I've also had the pleasure of volunteering at several Dukesfests and car shows, and would do so again if I had the opportunity, but I would not wear a shirt with the name of Hazzard County Mafia.

For the most part Duke's was a very family friendly show. And the fandom has been very, very family friendly. It does my heart good to see kids now, that are 6 or 7 years old (the same age I was when I started watching!) that know and love the show.

No offense intended toward Ben or Miss Alma, I have a great deal of respect for both of them, but I think that this is just a very, very unfortunate moniker for a group of people that are supposed to represent Hazzard County.

  3. I liked the Green Hornet - it was a really good action-comedy. Like Brian said, a buddy-flick, but it had some great action - and of course the car! It wasn't on my 'gotta see it' list, but I'm glad I went, it was a great way to spend a few hours on a weekend afternoon here in the snowy frozen north. =)

  4. I checked out the Facebook page for Pepsi Throwback tonight, and was completely surprised to find a reference to our favorite TV show! Take a look, it's near the bottom - one of the earliest posts on the page.

(I think you have to be a Facebook member to see it)

    It said:

"Let's settle this once and for all. Which car was better – Kit from Knight Rider, the General Lee from Dukes of Hazard, or do we have some old-schoolers bringing Herbie to the table?"

Of course, I answered The General Lee! I couldn't do anything else - now could I?

So check it out - and if you haven't tried Throwback...it's awesome!

  5. I knew Dale through his posts - and as a fellow Duke fan. It is truly sad to lose him. Thank you for posting the link to his last post. It is a very nice tribute to what he contributed to the Hazzard Community.

My thoughts and prayer's go to Dale's friends and family.
