HossC got a reaction from Boss JD Hogg in Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I don't know if it was the same in the US, but a lot of people here were commenting that it didn't feel much like Christmas, even in the final run-up last week (even with the constant Christmas music!). Maybe it's because most people had a full working week up until the December 22nd. Despite this, everyone I know seems to have had an enjoyable Christmas when it finally came. I hope the same is true for y'all.

New Year's only two hours away here, but I'm not sure I have the energy to stay up until midnight. Happy New Year to all on HazzardNet.

Cale was on two - 'Dukes Meet Cale Yarborough' and 'Cale Yarborough Comes to Hazzard'. Very sad to hear of his death.

I read this just after seeing that former Indianapolis 500 winner Gil de Ferran passed away on Friday at just 56. He suffered a heart attack at a private motor racing club in Opa-locka, Florida.

You're probably thinking of this scene in 'The Revenge of Hughie Hogg' (S5E13). Boss has told Rosco that he's supporting Hughie Hogg for sheriff:
Lulu: "...and until you give Rosco his job back you're gonna have to find another place to feed your face and lay that body down. Now, I mean it. And I mean it."
    Boss: "Oh, Lulukins, please."
    Lulu: "I do."
Boss: "I don't mind about the laying down but I sure gotta have the feeding."

I saw this yesterday and wasn't sure whether to post it. Hobie did the right thing by just posting the headline. The full story is on many sites - the UK newspaper The Guardian came up first in my search:

Just remember to keep politics out of any comments you may have.

I can't imagine a remake of Dukes being made anytime soon, no matter who's in it.

I'd certainly be in favor of any new show/movie with female leads and a decent script. I hope we've come to an end of the fad for remaking male led movies with a female cast. To me, that just says, "We couldn't think of any good ideas for original movies with women, so we'll rehash one with men and hope for the best!".

I like to see a good mixture of male/female ratios across TV shows. Some environments are predominantly biased to towards a single gender, so it wouldn't reflect reality if we try to keep them all even.

Two of my favorite British sitcoms are 'Porridge' and 'dinnerladies'. The former is set in a male prison, which doesn't give the opportunity for many female roles. The latter is set in a factory cafeteria where seven of the nine main actors are female (including the one who also wrote the show). Others I like may have a male or female in the lead role with a mixed supporting cast.

So long as there's a good variety across the shows, I'm fine with that.

Right, Skipper, let's get some things straight. Firstly you need to calm down and stop over-reacting. You posted several times last night that you were leaving even though no one asked you to, you posted three or four questions to me and sent me a similar number of private messages despite the fact that it was night-time where I live and I was asleep!
I will repeat this mantra - HazzardNet is a forum, not Facebook. Please don't post something just because it pops into your head and then your next thought five minutes later and repeat ad nauseum. Consider your posts and think whether they're worthwhile. As a moderator, I try to read all the new posts, and at moment about three quarters of them are yours. Many times you make multiple posts one after the other when a single, well thought out post would have been much better. In the end you're spreading out the interesting stuff and diluting the content.
Being a forum, HazzardNet is about discussion, but you've been starting numerous off-topic threads lately (mainly about movies) and then flooding them with posts even though no one else has shown any interest in the subject. An interaction takes two sides. HazzardNet is not your personal space to post everything you know about a movie or TV show. Either keep that to Facebook or start your own website.
As Boss JD Hogg says above, "If you're posting a quote that's not accurate then it's not actually a quote from the show. Why bother if it's not an accurate quote." If you don't think it's worth digging out your DVDs to check them, then it's not worth posting. The fact that you couldn't spend less than 30 seconds googling "draconian" proves that you don't spend much time researching your posts. The quotes should be short one-liners or interactions that are funny and/or memorable - the sort of thing you'd tell a friend. Anything longer is just an excerpt of the script.
For the time being, why not try what Roger suggested and "take a day or 2 to cool off". After that, forget about posting in all your off-topic threads unless other members show an interest. Put more time and thought into the posts you do make, and maybe limit yourself to five considered posts a day across the whole forum. Concentrate on quality over quantity!

Skipper - I don't know how many times I have to say this, but if you can't quote accurately, don't post it as a quote! I don't know if you're mixing up the quotes yourself or copying them from an unreliable source, but please stop. In the post above you've merged the two parts of the scene while missing bits out and misquoting others. Here's what was actually said:
Bo: "I bet that dang trial's started already."
Luke: "The stork had to pick this morning for delivery."
Bo: "All right, we'll still make it."
Luke: "Come on, Doc, let's hit the road."
Doc Appleby: "Sorry, boys, looks like it's going to be twins."
Doc: "Be right with you, boys."
Bo: "We'll still make it, right?"
    Luke: "Yeah."
    Doc: "Uh, Boys..."
Luke: "You gotta be kidding. Not triplets."
Balladeer: "They're lucky he ain't a vet. Some dogs have a dozen to the litter."

I haven't had time to check your previous post from 'The Ghost of General Lee', but that's another whole scene for which you created a separate thread. Stick to the couple of quotable lines at the end - we're not after an entire script here.

It was not my intention to stop you posting, Skipper. This is a forum and not Facebook. It should be a place of integrity where we can have fun, but intelligent discussions and interactions without any of the nastiness which seems to go hand in hand with social media. That's why we keep religion, politics and most bad language away from HazzardNet. It's also not about posting dozens of times a day hoping someone will "like" something you said.

The only two things I've asked you to do is to make sure quotes are accurate to what was actually said (this is a pet peeve of mine online, because if I've gone to the trouble of searching out dialogue, I want it to be correct), and to avoid posting quotes with excessive profanity or particularly adult themes (even with censored words). I don't consider either of these requests to be particularly draconian, and everyone else here is able to work within these boundaries.

There's a couple more locations that CDoherty brought up which I forgot weren't part of the Hazzard Square thread, so you may have missed them:
    Mystery Location
This one covers locations used in 'Comrade Duke' (and other episodes), most notably the airfield (now a plowed field) and a familiar stretch of tarmac called Pico Canyon Road. Both are quite near the Indian Dunes (Styx River jump etc.) that you mentioned. The airfield location is visible from Henry Mayo Drive, but Pico Canyon Road is part of the Newhall Ranch so I doubt if it's open to the public.
    Mystery Location II
This one has the location of the fight at the end of 'Welcome Back Bo and Luke' and also covers the railroad jump in 'Grannie Annie'. Both are in Oxnard, which may be a bit out of your way.
Both threads have Google Maps links to the locations discussed.
Lastly, I barely mentioned Piru in the Hazzard Square thread (it was only going to be about the WB back lots when I started it ). It's only a few miles west of the Indian Dunes. The race in 'Luke's Love Story' goes through Piru, and many of the locations are virtually unchanged. Piru also appears in 'Officer Daisy Duke'. The bridge at the east end of the town featured in a couple of episodes and, although bypassed with a new bridge, is still standing (as far as I know). Head a couple of miles north on Piru Canyon Road and you'll reach Lake Piru. A couple of episodes were filmed here including 'The Great Insurance Fraud' where Coy thinks he's caused conman Ward's death when his car goes into the lake.
Looks like I may have to add a couple of posts about Piru to the Hazzard Square thread, but I doubt if I'll have time before your road trip.
