  1. All I needed to see is the flag on the car. It's there. I'll buy it. It does look like more of what the show was and not the movie.
  2. My computer finnally let me view the dang thing. The car looks kinda silly with just the numbers on the side. You would think if they were taking it off completely they would have put like an 01 on the roof to make it look more like a stock car. Like I said before, I'll reserve judement until I've seen it. I'm not just gonna boycott it because they're taking a different take on the show but if by the end they don't have it on there I'm gonna be pissed.
  3. The more I think about the more I'm coming to the conclusion that you can't have the Dukes without the General Lee and you can't have the General Lee without a Confederate flag on the roof. This doesn't mean I'm not going to watch the prequel. Like I said before, if they put it on the car at the end of the movie I'll be satisfied. Atleast that way if the dvd is successful, they'll have to put it on there if they make another. But I think the best way for the show to live on would be a new series with a younger generation taking over the farm. They would have to have some of the original cast in it, like Luke, Bo or Daisy playing the Uncle Jesse type part. They'd have to have the General as the main car though. Flag and all or else it won't work. You hear the cast talk about how the show wasn't "just about the car", but the car was a huge part of it! I know the show began to tank whe Bo and Luke left but just imagine if they took the General away during a season and left the original cast. The show would've died with a couple of weeks. Also, if the dvd is somewhat successful, maybe they could make a show about in the same theme but call it "Hazzard High" or something. Either way I'm going to watch the prequel. If the flag is on the car by the end then I'll probably buy it. If not I'll let everyone know about it and WB will have to figure what to do with a s*** load of dvd's left in stock cause nobody want's to buy their politically correct garbage!
  4. You said yourself that it's a prequel so just because the flag wasn't on the car in the one snippet of flim that you've seen doesn't mean it won't be on the car in the rest of the movie. I remember a year ago people were freakin out because the first pictures we saw were from the beginning of the movie when the car had no flag and a funky 01 on the side.
  5. I guess I'm just a bigger fan of the first couple seasons, when it was a little more grown up and real. They made references to all sorts of things in the first 13 episodes, much of which was just as taboo as the stuff they did in the '05 movie. I didn't love the movie but I did enjoy it. In fact I though it was too close the series with the corn pone humor. That and I though Burt would've made a better Roscoe and Joe Don Baker should have played Boss. My main point being is that there are people here who are poo-pooing them because they don't stick completly with the series. Well I hate to tell them but whenever they make a t.v. show into a movie or vice versa they tread over the original. That's why they call it an "updating". I'm sure this dvd will probably be pretty bad, and even though I understand in today's day and age Hollywood has a problem with the flag, I still think it's bulls*** if they don't put it on there. I'm sure I'll get it in the mail with the rest of my Netflix and I'll watch it. I'm not just gonna outright boycott it because it's not exactly how the show was. If the only thing wrong with it is the flag, and I think it's worth seeing again I'll buy it. I guess I'm just a sucker for fast cars and hot women. And by the way, what's wrong with the girl playing Daisy? She's hot as hell and a brunette? I know her acting hasn't been seen but I'll give her a chance. Would you rather have that Laguna Beach chick instead? Geez!
  6. I swear the people on this website are bordering on becoming as nutty about this show as trekkies are about Star Trek. For one thing, you can't have the Dukes without Boss Hogg or Uncle Jesse. Sorrel and Denver passed a long time ago so the original cast doing another movie is rediculous. The only concievable way would be to do the next generation Dukes or something like that. Which by the way this cast looks like they could pull off. Next it's a prequel! They're suppossed to look younger! And finnally, it's my belief that any true fan would be excited about seeing anything that's even remotely Dukes related. If you still hold the original series closer to your hear than that's the way it should be. But nit picking every damn thing about the movies is just assinine. We all have our opinions about the big screen movie, but as far as I'm concerned as long as there's cool cars and hot women I'll rent it. Not to mention that supporting something like this can only help out for future Dukes movies or a return to tv. So maybe some day you guys out there that want the real cast could actually see them play their parts again. Althought the General would probably be a Dodge Astrovan that's equipped so that Tom and John can roll their wheelchairs up to the front seats. I will discuss the flag not being on the car until I've seen actual photos of it without it. Just remember that the big screen movie didn't start off with it and if the plot treads over the movie like it says it does, then they should have it on there atleast by the end of it.
  7. Shooter McGavin as Boss Hogg? Interesting. All I'm concerned about is that they have some cool car stuff. It's hard to imagine the Dukes without some automotive carnage but then I watched "Hazzard in Hollywood" this weekend and season 7 is on CMT right now. Oh yeah, they better have the flag on the General too!
  8. In the movie I think he means that she just stopped coming around for some reason. Probably cause Luke had moved on to his next booty call.
  9. Probably not until it's done in theaters and the overseas grosses have been tallied. If it makes more that 200 world wide then I'd expect a sequel considering all the cast is obligated to do one. Not to mention it only took 50 million to make.
  10. I thought Bo said it all when he asks "What the hell's wrong with these people!!". Laughed my a$$ off!
  11. All they really say is that it's not gonna help them make friends in Atlanta. This is after they're stuck in a traffic jam and they don't know the flag is painted on the roof. A couple of people drive by some saying yee-haw about it, others calling them rednecks. Other than that they don't really say much about it and it's still on the General at the end of the movie when it's been repaired from all the stuff that happens to it.
  12. I don't get how some of these web sites are saying that movie goers thought it was just ok. Everyone I know that's seen it loved it and they're not die hard Dukes fans either. I'm talking about quite a few people too. I think it just a bunch of tofu farting, big city urbanites who haven't even seen the movie trying to mess with people's reactions. Atleast that's what I think about Yahoo's reviews anyways.

  14. Ok for one thing 35 million is pretty damn good for a 3 day weekend total and considering that Warner Bros. execs were expecting somewhere around 20 to 25 million I'd say it was a dang good weekend. Not to mention the market has been depressed all year so 35 million this summer probably would've been 40 million or more next year. The biggest thing the Dukes has going for it is that the show has a huge overseas following and will surly do very well in other countries. All that plus it only cost 50 million to make boad very well for the possibility of a sequel.

  16. "If you want blood, you've got it" by AC/DC was the song being played when Bo flips out during the chase in Atlanta "Guitar man" by Jerry Reed was the song playing at the very beginning when the boys are making their deliveries.

  18. I was actually a joke that he was in it, but you have to have seen Super Troopers to get it.

  20. I thought Sean and Johnny were awesome! They were different from Tom and John but they had chemestry together. Bo was insane and I thought that's the way he should be. Luke was level headed but a little sly which was good too. I was surprised with Daisy. I felt Jessica did a pretty good job but I agree that she didn't have enough screen time to make an informed decision. Wasn't that impressed with Burt's Boss Hogg take but it wasn't terrible, just different I guess. I thought Willie did a good job. Roscoe needed to be funnier. I didn't mind that he was meaner and more of a brute but they could've made him funnier. I though Cooter was really good, he was the closest to any of the characters from the show. Could've done without the Sheeve character but he did get a couple laughs. I thought the campus police scene was pretty funny too, especially with the Super Troopers guys. The car scenes were freakin' awesome!!!! Especially the rally scene at the end and the chase through down town Atlanta. I don't think I blinked once through either of those scenes. Basically the movie was a lot funnier than I thought it was gonna be and the car scene were just as awesome as I hoped they'd be. I give this movie 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

  22. Well I saw the movie and loved it! I'm gonna try and see it again later this week. The girl I took liked it too and she's not country at all. Now the only thing I'm worried about is how much money it's gonna make cause lets face it, the only way we'll get a part two is if it does well at the box office. I went and saw it Friday night in Winter Park, FL, which is a very nice area in Orlando. Not a whole lot of people in that part of town that I thought would see this movie. In fact I parked my lifted F-150 between a Mercedez SLK 500 and a Dodge Viper. But to my surprise the movie theater was packed. I'm glad we got there a little early or we'd have been sitting in the front row! Anyways...I was just curious as to how full the theaters were when all of you saw it. I'm guessing that if this movie makes 25 million or more this weekend there will almost certainly be a sequel. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

  24. Like they say on all the "behind the scenes" specials on the show, those that don't like it just don't get it!
