  1. I'm not a huge fan of change either and, believe me, I just about had a mini-coronary when I realized I'd have to do the theme from scratch. But, I think it turned out better (and easier) than last time. I like the mid-blue too. I wanted to break it up a little more than just orange and dark blue.
  2. Yeah, those are the 2 things I haven't been able to figure out yet, but I'm working on it.
  3. Ok, the forum software has been updated. I had to redo the theme because the old theme was so out of date that it broke. If you see any issues with colors which makes it hard to read text, please comment here and be as specific as possible. I'll try to fix them if possible.
  4. It's that time again.... A bunch of updates have stacked up, so I will likely be bringing the forums down to update this Saturday morning, 10/17.
  5. Just to follow up... I got the final pathology report from my procedure. It says "no neoplasm identified". I'm pretty sure that means I'm still cancer free. Yay! I have a follow up with my doc on the 23rd to go over everything. I have an echocardiogram coming up on Monday and I think after that, hopefully, that should be the last of the medical tests/procedures for the rest of the year.
  6. Welcome, Skipper! Nice to have you aboard. Love the avatar. I used to watch Gilligan's Island a lot and, next to the Professor, the Skipper was my favorite character.
  7. Thanks. My oncologist is cautiously optimistic that I'm still cancer free.
  8. I probably won't be tested until mid-August (my procedure's on the 20th). I'll let you know how it goes, though.
  9. I'm sorry to hear your family has COVID-19, Roger. I've known a few others who've had it and they say that about a few days to a week in, you start to feel like you're getting better and then it just slams you. I hope you and your family get over it real soon. Just about everyone in my family is at high risk due to diabetes and autoimmune diseases, so none of us have seen each other in months except through photos and phone calls. I have a procedure coming up next month to check if I'm still cancer free, so I have to get COVID-19 tested several days before the procedure.
  10. I remember when people used to give the benefit of the doubt, forgive someone's mistakes, and gave second chances. I sometimes give 5 or 6 chances, against my better judgement. I am not a fan of cancel culture. I call it The Church of the Perpetually Outraged. That's a difficult way to go through life. I just don't have the energy for it.
  11. Oh, it's worse than that. I make them watch "My Mother The Car".
  12. I have some very strong political opinions myself, but I prefer my entertainment and fun to be untainted by the negativity and bickering that sometimes surrounds politics. I want everyone to feel welcome here and have fun.
  13. The FBI put out a statement today after investigating. From the evidence (photos/video) they've compiled, turns out, the "noose" has been there since at least October 2019 and was actually a garage door pull. https://www.oregonlive.com/sports/2020/06/noose-found-in-bubba-wallaces-garage-was-there-since-2019-feds-say.html
  14. An interesting little "tour" of one of the areas they used to film and some thoughts from John...
  15. I was listening to police band the night of my last post, when there was supposed to be even a larger crowd down the street. Seems some kid tried to sell a stolen gun to the security guard at the weed shop down the street. He said he wanted to kill a cop and get into a shoot out with them. The guard called the cops and they chased him down the main drag. They stopped him and recovered the gun without incident. Guess the kid really didn't want that after all. I forgot how interesting it was listening to police band. Last time I did that for an entire evening was back around when Dukes was still originally airing.
  16. The PD in my hometown in CA got word looters and rioters were planning to hit the mall 2 blocks from my parents' house. It's one of the largest malls in the US and just underwent a $280 million renovation. The PD blocked all entrances, exits, and streets around the mall with buses, garbage trucks, shipping containers, and wrecked cars. They had armored SWAT vehicles and fire trucks inside the perimeter. Seems the looters decided there wasn't anything worth looting there last night.
  17. There's a little town a mile down the road from us that had trouble last night. Fights, a few shots fired (no one hit), large crowd. Business owners standing out in front of their businesses armed to the teeth. Larger crowds are expected today. County sheriffs are heading in to support and National Guard is on standby. Oof.
  18. I'm sorry to say, the law finally caught up to them Duke boys. Saw this while monitoring regional police activity because we had some looting and a small riot about a mile from our house. VEH PURSUIT 06/01/20 22:14 (SEATTLE - SPD EAST) UPDATE: UNITS WERE PURSUING A DODGE CHARGER, 2 SUBJECTS IN CUSTODY, 1 NON-PD VEHICLE STRUCK, NO INJURIES [WAS133]
  19. I spent some time looking through voice over promos for some of CBS' regular promo artists and couldn't find a match. I can tell you who it isn't. It's not Don Robertson, John Leader, Dave Fennoy, Mark Elliot, Brad Crandall, Chuck Riley, Norm Stevens, or Gaylord Avery.
  20. Word is, we're starting to flatten the curve here in Washington. I hope that continues and the rest of the country follows suit soon.
  21. Well, you've probably done business with the company I work for (I'm a hardware engineer), they currently employ over 800,000 people (and hiring in other areas as fast as they can), and many people are ordering essentials through their website right now, so I doubt they'll close down. I'm sure they'll eventually hire more people for my team, but not before more people leave with a lot of domain knowledge. Which is kind of ridiculous because the team I'm on tests all the hardware that the website and other company services runs on and is arguably the most important team in the company.
  22. We're ok here still so far. In our morning meeting for work (almost everybody except those with essential business in the office are working from home), someone mentioned that we're starting to flatten the curve here in Washington. Hopefully, the rest of the country will be following right behind us soon. So far, I don't personally know anyone who has gotten COVID-19 (at least not a confirmed case, just suspected cases that they recovered from) and I hope it stays that way! Y'all stay safe and healthy.
  23. Just heard Joe Diffie, country singer, has passed from COVID-19.
  24. Aww, shucks. I've missed you guys, too. Work has been unbelievable lately. People leaving in droves and they're not hiring other folks to help and so our workload keeps increasing and our workforce keeps shrinking. A lot of people sick from stress. I'm looking for another job because I can't stand this much longer.
  25. Did you think I was joking? LOL.
