  1. Wow, Dale! I've always enjoyed your posts here and over at cglfc, and when I read that poem on cglfc last year, I was really impressed by your writing skills, but I had no idea you are so talented vocally. What a great job on this video. Boss and the other voices are so realistic--especially Waylon's narration!

    Blue Collar TV

Wednesday, June 7th, 8p.m., http://tvlistings5.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ProgramDetailAction.do?method=getProgramDetails&programId=EP6745520041&lineupId=DFLT:- is the repeat of the episode in which the guys spoof the Dukes of Hazzard. I missed it the last time it was on, and I want to be sure to watch it tomorrow.
  3. Sorry to be two days late, but HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY, MARYANNE! (I myself have been turning 21 every year, for many years now )
  4. Hazzard chic, thank you for sharing that recipe. I made it for dinner last night and we enjoyed it!
  5. Hello, Rynn01! I don't recall the episode, but have you tried asking that question at http://www.cglfc.com/wforum/index.php?sid=9000895e94c5c4d2a33adf1c8081a802, the confederate general lee fan club? Those guys are helpful and notice all the little nuances in each episode. If anyone can help you, they can. Good luck!
  6. Although Bo is drop-dead gorgeous, I vote for Luke. For me Luke is still the second sexiest man in the world (second to my husband, of course!)
  7. I've always thought Rosco was a handsome man. And in James Best's earlier appearances--like the Andy Griffith Show--he was very good-looking.
  8. Thanks for the day-brightening pictures, MaryAnne.
  9. Everytime I hear the chorus from Sawyer Brown's song "SOME GIRLS DO" I think of the Duke boys: "I ain't first class but I ain't white trash I'm wild and a little crazy, too Some girls don't like boys like me Aww, but some girls do." And here's Sawyer Brown with the General Lee: http://www.kokosuniverse.com
  10. Jamanda, it was written by Mark Lowry, and I like his singing of it the best, though Kenny Rogers does it well also. I don"t think other singers I've heard have sung it as powerfully as they have.
  11. Brian, thanks for the fun link. I liked the twistedchristmas.com link at the end of the video, especially the song Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire.
  12. I like all the old-time carols, but two of my modern favorites are "Mary Did You Know?" which always gives me chills and brings a tear to my eye, and the Christmas Chipmunk Song. Ever since I was a little kid, the first time each year that I hear it on the radio kicks off the Christmas season for me.
  13. "Charlie Brown Christmas" and "It's a Wonderful Life".
  14. The Capitol One barbarians Christmas commercial. Those barbarians are always hilarious!
  15. Thanks for sharing that article, lost_sheep3. That story will bring a smile of recognition to any Dukes fan! P.S. One of my favorite Rosco moments --- his genuinely shocked scolding of the Duke boys when he discovers them transporting all that "mara-ju-wanna".
  16. Hi, Garrett Duke. I noticed that speechlessness in the TV episode as well, and wondered about it. Maybe they were trying to show that Luke was un-nerved and thus unable to speak?
  17. Hello and Welcome, dukes1466! I enjoy reading what fans elsewhere think of the movie. Good analysis of the differences between the old and the new. I agree, but I had prepared myself by reading the fan (as opposed to the professional critic) reviews. I went expecting to see the General playing with a bunch of wild and crazy people whom I didn't know, and so enjoyed the General without the shock of wondering where our beloved Dukes were. Glad to meet you and come back again.
  18. Ben Jones was on John Kasich's Heartland on FNC Saturday night. He said he will definately go see the movie HIMSELF IF the makers spend just a few hours in an editing room cutting out the raunchy bits, and he'd then encourage parents to take the kids. He thinks parents will assume the PG-13 rating is just because of the vehicle smash-ups, and so take very young kids to see it.

  20. That letter, which I agree is a little harsh, is indeed from Ben Jones himself. He has it posted on his web site: http://cootersplace.com/news_movie.asp
  21. Funny thing, I read an interview a while back which said that Tom, when a kid, used to goof around by practicing roping the cows on his farm, and that he got pretty good at it. In one episode of DOH-- (I'm not sure which one--was it "Big Brothers Duke" ?)-- Luke lassoes a horse. When I read that article, I wondered if Tom was able to do that stunt because of his practice in roping the dairy cows. (Though I don't know what his Dad thought of his sons lassoing his cows.)
  22. Has anyone else seen this? It first showed up in my yahoo newsclippers on Tuesday, but I haven't read this anywhere else: http://www.telluridenews.com/articles/2005/06/15/news/pulse/pulse01.txt Junior Brown says, " In the upcoming movie version of 'The Dukes of Hazzard,' I narrate and play guitar."
  23. Welcome to Hazzarnet, Crazy Vic! The first quote is of my favorites, also. The lady is Carlene Watkins (who played one of Jill's sisters in Home Improvement) as the revenuer in High Octane. The second is from One Armed Bandits. "I won me 3 medals in 2 wars and nothing makes me more nervous than when you get smug". I don't remember the third one, but I can picture Rosco saying it
  24. In the earliest episodes, the writers hadn't as yet developed the characters of more honorable Dukes. 1)***in Luke's Love Story the annoying character was Luke Duke. Though I have a bad case of hero-worship for Luke, and though I tell my husband that Luke is the world's second sexiest man, in that episode, he acted like such a big jerk to Amy Creevy. She should have slugged him harder. 2)***in Mary Kaye's Baby the annoying characters were Mary Kaye and all the Dukes. They actually approved of her stealing the money and using it to raise her child. (Though admittedly it was a crook's ill-gotten gains). To quote Jesse in a later episode, "Two wrongs don't make a right." Then, if it had been a later episode, Jesse would have told her that raising her son on a foundation of theft, dishonesty, and deceit was a terrible legacy for that child.
  25. wopat.com lists Tom's height as 6'1". I've read John's height as both 6'3" and 6'4". And, like you, I am curious as to how tall Sorrell Booke was.
