  1. I figure that they are gonna keep it there, like I've said already. It just makes so much more sense. Anyway, at least we do know that they are gonna keep it at the same time of year and that we can keep checkin' cootersplace.com for more information. That was one of my concerns because I wouldn't know where else to go for information about it. I bet ya anything that new information about the location will be put up on the website at the beginning of the new year .
  2. The past two years that I have been Dukesfest has always been held on the first weekend of June. The first year it was on the 3rd and 4th and the second year it was on the 2nd and 3rd; thus, both times were on the first weekend of June. I do not know about the other years because, like I have said before, I have only gone the past two years.
  3. Yeah, they should have it next year. I mean the way everyone was talkin' they are gonna have it. The main issue is where, but like I said, Nashville is a might convenient place to have it. Anyhow, you should definitely save your money because if you are anything like me, you are gonna want to buy everything in sight. I mean I must have spent around anywhere between 80 and 100 dollars this past year, but it was definitely worth every penny. Maybe I'll see you next year.
  4. Howdy! I don't know how much I'll help ya, but I'll try. Yes, Mr. Jones and Mrs. Alma have indeed past the Dukesfest torch on to John and his wife. In fact, they are not sure if they are going to be able to make appearances, but Mr. Jones said that he will try his darndest. As far as Dukesfest 2008 goes, there was some talk of them moving it out of Nashville but I don't know where or if they'll do that. Nashville is such a convenient place and I don't know where they are going to find a place that can accomodate all of the fans like the Fairgrounds. My hunch is that they might stay in Nashville because there has been such a great turn out the two years that they have had it there. I know that I have gone the past two years it was there. Mr. Jones will probably put something up about the dates and location on cootersplace.com when it gets closer to Dukesfest 2008. But definitely go when you get a chance because it is so much fun:D . It's all worth it to see the gang back together again, not to mention seeing John Schneider;) !
  5. Hey everybody!!! Welcome back from Dukesfest '07! I got back home Monday night and let me just say- YeeeeeeeHaaaaawwwww!!! Dukesfest was a blast. It was my second one and I had a great time. The whole thing seemed a lot more organized this year (I think that it might have had something to do with a certain member missing and a few lessons learned from last year). I went with my mother and best friend and we all came away wanting more. I was sad to find out that this would be Ben's and Mrs. Alma's last year headin' up the show but I feel that ol' John will do a mighty nice job. Also, the stunt show was a howlin' good time. Them boys sure did pull a good ol' shuck-n-jive with that police car and the camper. I didn't expect them to do that at all! Of course, I wasn't the only one . As far as my experiences go... they are as follow: Day 1- Get to the fairgrounds at about 8. Immediately get into Sonny Shroyer's line. Check out the General Lees. Buy John Schneider's new movie and the poster. Buy other stuff (always a must at Dukesfest). Have the mother of all celebrity meetings: You see as I was coming up one of the hills by the main gate a car passed by me. I didn't think much of it but as I walk passed the door I turned around to see who was getting out. Possum on a gumbush!!.. if it wasn't Catherine Bach getting out of that car. She wasn't but 3 feet from me! Anyway, the rest of the day was spent checking out random things and waiting in Sonny Shroyer's line again with my friend. I was kinda surprised to find that Sonny remembered me from that morning. He even asked me my name! Of all of the cast, John, Sonny and Ben are the nicest in my opinion. Day 2- Get to the fairgrounds at 6:30. Get into Catherine Bach's line. Buy a Collier and Co: Hot Pursuit hat (autographed by John of course). Watch the stunt show. Finally, get Ben Jones's autograph. That was pretty much my time at Dukesfest in summary form. I wanted to do the General Lee ride but I was always off doing or buying something else until all my money was spent. Even so, I had the best time. Hopefully next year will be just as fun and exciting and John will have Collier and Co 2 for sale. Hope to see some of ya'll next year! Until then...make some jumps worthy of the General and try to avoid ol' Roscoe and his dipstick deputies. P.S. BUY COLLIER AND CO: HOT PURSUIT and support good, clean fun.
  6. I completely agree with you there. If these producers would pick up where the reunion movies left off I think that a lot more people would be accepting, including the original cast. Honestly, that is the only way I would watch another movie or a new tv show.
  7. All I want to say is that I don't expect anything to be the same as the original. My thing is this, if someone is going to pay homage to a show such as The Dukes then that person should at least make an effort on things that are emphasized. I didn't expect it to be at all like the series.
  8. Hey Everybody! I am new to the forums and am just getting my feet wet. I saw "The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning" with a friend. To tell the truth, parts of it completely confused the rattlesnake stew out of me. I mean, what was with the two diff'rent dogs? At the beginning of the movie Flash was a beagle, then Flash was a basset hound, and at the end he was a beagle again! Weird! Also, I don't think that the director did that good of a job researching the show. There were quite a few discrepancies. For one, Bo and Luke found the General at a junkyard, not at the bottom of a ravine. Second, Bo, Luke, and Daisy all lived with Uncle Jessie way before the ages of 16 and 17. Third, how could have Bo's and Luke's parents sent them to live with Uncle Jessie if they were supposed to have been dead? That's the reason Bo, Luke, and Daisy were living with Uncle Jessie in the first place! Yet another problem arises in the fact that Bo, Luke, Cooter, and Enos all grew up together. They didn't meet the way that "The Beginning" portrayed. Personally, I think that "The Beginning" was based on the 2005 movie. Even so, the movie was down right heeelarious!! I couldn't stop laughing! Definitely better than the 2005 movie as far as character portrayal goes (with the exception of Lulu). Enos was more the boy-next-door, Boss was more connivin', and Roscoe was definitely the knuckleheaded sheriff that he should have been in the first movie. Now, with all that said, I wish that somebody from the original show would get together with some of these people making these "Duke" movies and make a true tribute to the ideals of the show. "The Beginning" was a little bit closer to that than "The Movie", but it still leaves something to be desired.
