  4. OK its time for the DOOR PRIZE..lol. Did the doors today & they are lookin nice. I again dont have the clear pics yet but they will soon follow.
  5. Brian, Thank you but rest assured it's gonna be driven like crazy. I want to make this lil 318 be a reliable driver. It will be nice but I am not gonna cry over dead bugs on the windshield thats for sure. The car wont be a replica of a particular Lee either, cause that to me, leaves alot of room for people to start with the "well thats not right" or " That's incorrect" I dont like people like that. I like the old addage If ya cant say something nice then dont say nuttin at all. I want to personally thank you all for taking the time to compliment my car & the work that has gone into it. I know that Capt Redneck awaits it like the next issue of Hot Rod LOL & Mary Anne, Roger Julie & Brian have been following it also thanks to you & Meadow mufn and Dukefan too and for anyone else I 4got for keping up with this thread & hanging in there with me as time keeps draggin on with this project! I am really happy I decided to make this happen. This is NOT the end of the pix & updates no no there is plenty more work to do & there will be plenty more pix to follow that work! YEE HAW!
  6. Thanks ya'll. It has been a LONG road but I can see the light with this paint thing! Here are a few shots of the car with the clear coat applied to the roof flag. Remember it still will need to be wet sanded & then buffed & then polished so it will really shine!
  7. So I went & got that pauint like I mentioned & we got started EARLY Saturday morning & this was our outcome: Enjoy the following! YEE HAW! (all shots are b4 the clear coat is added so he will shine like a new penny then)
  8. Thanks again. I will say it every time I really enjoy sharing the photosd of the progress. Its cool to see the replies & suggestions & hear the ideas too. I went & got the paint for the roof today Red, White & The Blue & I also bougt the black for the doors & the rear panel. I am starting the roof flag tomm. Pix to follow as always. Tom

  10. The windshield was replaced, so the chrome was not only taken off, but it's still not on the car, look closely at the pix. Rear window is still out & all rear trim is still off & rear window still out of the car. The lower side rear window trim was left right where it was & taped up just right. Did not want to dis-assemble that anymore than I already had & it came out perfect no traces of the old paint.

  13. 1st coat which is why your able to still see through the paint, hang in there its DEFF gets better!
  14. Believe it or not IT HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The car, MY CAR, MY GENERAL was shot today and is now in ALL ok ok almost all its glory! Arrived at the bodyguys house at 9am Saturday & sanded some last minute areas including the top & bottom of new hood, drilled holes in new metal to fit the chrome that needs to be added after the car is painted and prepped the car. This all took til 2pm & then it began. The next shots are how they happened all day saturday 5/24/08. yea yea thats me! wet sanded car also as you can see

  17. Maryanne, I cannot wait either. It is exciting but also a bit scary. I hope all goes well is all. Roger yer a trip...LOL. I will post more pictures as always. Tonight I am drilling the holes for the vinyl top trim to go on & also sanding that new hood I got down to be ready for paint Saturday.
