  1. I'm with both Garrett and RogerDuke, I think it would be nice to have something on her to support everyone.

I'll kick things off then. I have lost 11.5lb to date, but still a very long way to go, really struggling at the moment. I too find it hard to motivate myself to excersise. I've decided to take it half a stone at a time, that way it doesn't seem such a huge task.

I find it helps me to go to a class every week, we have Slimming World in the UK, it's fantastic, you can eat as much as you like as long as it is the right type of food. They also have a section on their website for USA, maybe it would help.

Good Luck everyone for this week.

  2. I hate shopping for clothes too. I normally wear baggy stuff to hide all the lumps and bumps, usually black!

Your're right though texasdaisy09, if you just start by making small changes to the way you eat, it can have a positive effect on your weight loss.

  3. The Dukes reminds me of my childhood, it lets me escape to a more innocent time for a couple of hours. :escape:

I think we could all learn a few things from The Dukes about basic family values, that the world we live in today seems to have forgotten.

And it has The General Lee! :D

Fun and car chases, nobody ever gets really hurt, even the bad guys. There's always a moral to the story and a happy ending.

Oh yeah, and Tom Wopat is Hot. ;)

  5. Been a member on here for quite a while but had a few computer/e-mail issues so only just got round to introducing myself.

I live in Warrington, a small town in the UK. I have been a Dukes fan all my life, and yes I am old enough to remember them the first time round!

I love listening to music, I am a bit of a Rock Chick and some of my fav bands include Status Quo, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf and Guns 'N' Roses. I am also a closet country fan and enjoy Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Toby Keith. I am just starting to get into the new country artists aswell through the power of internet radio, so let me know of anybody worth listening too.

Other interests/hobbies - Drawing, painting, reading, just starting to dabble with fan-fic.

Other TV - Life On Mars, Ashes to Ashes, NCIS, Smallville, Without a Trace, The Shield.

  6. I was just wondering if there are any NCIS fans on the site.

I'm loving Mark Harmon as Gibbs

I live in the UK so we are only up to season 5, can't wait for season 6 box set to be released on Amazon on 25th Aug 09.

  7. I'm new to this so please be gentle with me!!

Preview screenings of the new Dukes movie opened today in the UK, (officially opening on Friday 25 Aug). Growing up watching the original series I had mixed feelings about the film. Being a lifelong fan it is great to see the Dukes on the big screen at long last. Although disappointed that none of the original cast were involved. When I arrived at the 10 screen cinema I was the only person in the auditorium! By the time the adverts and trailers had been shown there was a grand total of 10 people, not a good start!!!

I felt that the film had a slow start and didn't seem to be going anywhere.

Luke was portrayed as a total head case!! Not the cool, calm, quick thinking older cousin we have come to love. Bo was also made to look like a complete fool. What have Warner Brothers done to our two heroes? There was no on-screen chemistry between any of the cast.

The film was jam-packed with swearing and sexual innuendo. Where was the country charm and old fashioned family values?

The only saving grace the film had was "The General Lee". Although I was horrified to see what state he was in, until Cooter had worked his magic. (And since when do the doors open on The General Lee????) There were a few funny moments and one-liners, but the high point of the film for me was some very good chase scenes and some excellent jumps, mixed together with background music from AC/DC.

I am glad I have had the experience of watching the film, but for me, whoever had been cast into the roles of Bo and Luke could never live up to the excellent double act of Tom Wopat and John Schneider.
