  1. 'back to double sided discs ' ? After the first season haven't all the seasons been on double sided ? (I hate them ) We're just waiting for season 5 to come out here in the UK, but apart from being region 2 coded they're much the same as yours I think (?) I'd love single sided discs , but then the boxes would be larger ? - They did the same thing with the Wonder Woman DVD's, thankfully Universal didn't do this with Knight Rider....
  2. When you look back at those episodes, it's easy to see how good the surrounding cast are. Unfortunately they steal the scenes easily from the 'stars'. They did a reasonable job, and the stunts with the General Lee and the police cars are as good as many of the earlier series, if not better. (Higher jumps, better stunts) It could have been worse, they could have used models during the Coy and Vance era instead of the later seasons I really do agree that 'Welcome Back Bo and Luke' should have been a VERY special episode, but it would have been so obvious they were 'clones' - they were dumped in a very unfair way, both as characters in the show and in real life.
  3. That's the body I have, the HPI one, cost's about £25 alone , it comes with a chunk of an engine sticking out of the bonnet, but there is an extra piece to 'blank' it over. I think it'll go on a Tamiya car with a chassis extention, I don't want it on a silly monster truck, only thing is I don't think there are many wheels that match the real General. That's where the toy ones beat true models, attention to detail !
  4. Season Five is currently showing on Bravo on digital TV in the UK, it's not been shown for five years over here. We pleaded and begged the previous channel showing the Dukes and they didn't buy the series But now the Dukes have a good home in a channel that cares for them at the moment It's making very interesting viewing, Episode 85 (5/1) and 86 (5/2) shown yesterday and today. Anyone know of another thread about the topical fifth season, (one about the shows, not the DVD release thanks !)
  5. EJD I'm in the UK as are you I run an R/C car club and an R/C General Lee is music to my ears, I know it's not really for racing , but it looks a great scale model! £39 isn't so bad, it's $49.95 in dollars at some online shops , that's our usual conversion, sometimes the same in UK pounds sterling as in US dollars. We have a store called 'Asda' which was bought up by Walmart, I wonder if they'll be stocking it - it would be nice !! I still want to build a General Lee that goes fast and will jump and survive to jump again, I have a large Charger shell and replica secal set, but I don't have a car with a wheelbase to match - The darn things so long I know really it should be real wheel drive, possibly prop driven (most cars are all-wheel drive at the moment) I really hope it comes to the UK, we do have ebay and that's another option !! I love it, I love it Good News Good News
  6. redneck woman you're spot on, it's silly but fun and I rate it lol If Daisy and Enos had been married then who knows what could have happened, it could well have upset the apple cart.
  7. On the Hazzardnet home page 'Strange visitor to Hazzard' is touted as the worst episode. So where does 'Robot P Coltrane' fit into this equation ? I can't seriously believe that 'Robot' is a better episode than 'Strange visitor' or do I need to re-watch. Sure its far fetched but for me it makes a change for the usual stuff.
  8. Somebody with some sense, I totally agree, I almost expected my money back after the showing as a matter of course. I couldn't believe how far away from the original the film is. The only thing I don't entirely agree on is your point re: the 01 number, although what you say is true, it changed their lives, sure. But didn't the '01' go on the side because the car was intended to and was /is the fastest car in Hazzard, eg 01 nobody faster ? I think the film's pretty much killed off any further Hazzard movies and the TV movies will struggle too (esp. as they actually continue the original ) The Avengers wasn't a great film compared to the series, but this takes the biscuit. Ben Jones was right all along and at least some of us should have listened and stayed home. Uncle Jesse is nothing like, has no words of wisdom and the movie is on a lewd low level all the way. It's not always what they say, but the way they say it, when Cooter asks the boys about Daisy, you know he's serious about dating (read:sleeping) with her. In the old series that would be a jokey thing if at all. Daisy was just a hood ornament and did nothing to further the story, not at all like Cathrine Bach in the series. real sad when they take something you love and tear it up to shreds
  9. That's a shame, I've actually seen a pic of Coy and Vance with Bo and Luke and surrounding cast (on Sonny Shroyer's site) I think. I guess Daisy IS in for the whole season but C & V should have been there, at least as a side pic. Warner Brothers ought to stand by their decisions (good or bad) , it's not 'The Daisy Duke Show' after all :x
  10. I run an R/C car club in the UK, but have only seen Charger bodyshells to put on our existing cars, not a complete car. Like you I haven't seen any anywhere on the net, I've never seen any from the original series either, just the die cast cars
  11. Once the doors were welded shut in the series, they stayed shut Boss Hogg should be more plump, sure he was thinnish in the first series - but we all know how much food the character should eat, and he would put on weight surely ? added to the list above, if it's not already there Enos and Boss have a moustache when they shouldn't Uncle Jessie would never physically hit somebody - even if he wanted to - it isn't in his nature. This is not The Dukes of Hazzard, just an imposter much worse than Coy and Vance. Luke would not bed two girls at once, as I have seen - Bo would get one of them Can't see much good in the film whatsoever, it doesn't help when Johnny Knoxville is quoted as saying 'plot - what plot ' as if there shouldn't be one. aside from the General Lee, they've taken the original and totally wrecked it surely ?

  13. So far we've only had 'best of' taster DVD's - 2 of with 3 episodes each - and we'll have to wait 3 weeks longer to see the movie At least DVD's are a little smaller than our VHS video tapes, my 125 episodes I taped so far are in a huge box & weigh a ton.

  15. Not sure how many UK Dukes fans there are on here - but earlier today I caught an advert on Bravo over here advertising the Dukes. Hurrah ! I hope they get to show them all , strangely we don't get CMT over here on digital TV and yet when I had analogue Satellite we had it ??!! I'm very pleased with this news, so maybe I'll get to see (and tape) all those episodes I haven't seen for 20 years plus ! Does anyone know if they will go ahead with Season 5 on DVD ???? I guess they would have to have Coy and Vance on the box surely ??, or maybe just the supporting cast ?? does anyone know yet we're still waiting for Season 1 but it's going to be out following the movie...
