  1. You're welcome! It is great to see the three of them having so much fun together after all this time - they're all so charming and funny and they clearly get along so well, it's heartwarming to see :). They way they all teased each other was fun
  2. I thought folks might be interested in this video Q&A from Dallas Comic-Con 2016 with Tom Wopat, Catherine Bach and John Schneider. It's almost 50 minutes long and I thought it was pretty fun even if some people got sidetracked by Smallville questions, heh. The video is here. Enjoy!
  3. But the ratings did drop when Coy and Vance replaced Bo and Luke, and the show never really recovered from that. The General was a big, important part of the show, but I'd argue that the real magic was Bo + Luke + the General and everything that deviated from that was just... inferior. I agree with whomever mentioned that Coy and Vance would've had a warmer welcome had they been their own characters instead of carbon copies Bo and Luke. And although I find it jarring, I understand why the powers that be let them drive in the General.

  5. Got another one. In Repo Men, after Ace (the second-hand car dealer) has set the boys up to be killed by the guys they're supposed to repossess the Rolls Royce from. The scene opens with Ace polishing one of his cars when he sees the General Lee coming and tries to run, but winds up locking himself in one of his cars. The boys climb out of the General, Luke with a blinkin' chainsaw (hee!) and Bo with a bow and arrow. Ace gets -- understandably -- nervous and starts babbling about him givin' up, as Bo systematically shoots out the tires of the car Ace's hiding in. Bo: "You can give up yet, Ace, we ain't done yet!" Luke: "And when [bo]'s done, I'm gonna saw this car in half." (dialogue paraphrased, but pretty close, I think) I love that scene. One does not mess with the Dukeboys. (And thanks to everyone participating in this thread for posting their favorite scenes!)

  7. Got another one. In "The Late J.D. Hogg", Rosco tells Cletus to hold up the boys while he executes one of his plans (or something. Rather vague on the details, sorry). So Cletus stops them and demands they let him inspect the General Lee from top to bottom. And at one point, when the boys attempt to escape, Cletus is under the hood of the General while Bo is starting the engine. Cletus: "Where's the dipstick?" Bo: "You're under the hood, Cletus!" The funny of this scene is all in John Schneider's delivery; Bo sounds so unmitigatedly gleeful. I giggle every time I think of it

  11. We already have a favorite quotes thread, a favorite episode thread, a favorite character thread, so I figured this one wouldn't be too out of place . Which DOH scene have you seen more times than you'd care to admit? A cool General Lee jump? An awesome fight? Come on, share! I'll go first. I'm very fond of the scene in High Octane where Enos is trying to lock up Agent Huntley, Luke smashes the bottle of "shine" (which is actually water) on the floor, and Bo lights up a match and threatens to blow them all to kingdom come. I don't even quite know why I like that bit so much, but I do. Another favorite moment of mine are the utterly non-plussed faces of Bo and Luke when they see Cooter driving Limo One behind them in Limo One is Missing. I like that one because it's funny So, what are yours?

  13. To me, it's extremely jarring to see either Coy or Vance in the General Lee. It's not their car! Get out of there!

  15. It's been a while since I saw some of the later episodes, but I recall really liking Welcome Back Bo 'n' Luke. Not just because it meant bye-bye to the clones, but also because I loved the Bo/Luke/Cooter interaction. That was really excellent and a great way to show their friendship. Cool Hands, Luke and Bo was also very good and very watchable. I love those rare episodes in which Bo and Luke team up with Boss and Rosco and the break-out at the end was just fantastic. The pilot episode, One-Armed Bandits was also ten kinds of wonderful

  17. I only recently stumbled across this website, but I figured I'd share it with y'all . This website has got DVD quality screencaps up of the first six episodes ("Days of Shine and Rose" through "The Ghost of General Lee") of the second season up. You can download them either a picture at a time or in a zip file containing all the caps from a specific episode. Hope this is helpful to people

  19. I'm yet another one of those people who's not going to see the movie when it comes out (I don't even know the release date for the Netherlands anyway). Trashy is indeed the right word for it, and the casting seriously makes me cry. Jessica Simpson? As DAISY? Um, no. There are so many things wrong with that I just don't even know where to begin (the easiest place to begin would be the fact Simpson is an overhyped, overtanned, irritating, no-talent, classless hack with the intellect of a box of rocks). Sean William Scott and Johnny Knoxville? Gee, and here I thought the boys were supposed to be attractive, which these two clowns aren't. Yeah, I'm not gonna watch this and thus preserve my sanity and the good memories.

  21. Probably. People don't take too kindly to shoddy cast changing. However, if the Dukes started out with Coy and Vance as portrayed by Cherry and Mayer, I don't think I'd have watched it to begin with. I'm sure they're both fine people, but as actors, I found them somewhat lacking. Byron Cherry is the better of the two, but Christopher Mayer came across as wooden (and I just watched the only Coy and Vance episode I possess this morning, Welcome Back, Bo 'n' Luke, to refresh my memory, and yep, Mayer's wooden) and not at all compelling (sure has pretty eyes, though). Perhaps. However, there's also the chance that if it hadn't been for Cherry and Mayer, WB might've been more eager to work out their differences with John and Tom a lot faster than they did. Guess we'll never know for sure what might have been. And I agree with MinDuke's entire post

  23. I like Bo best, 'cause I'm shallow and he's goodlooking . But the thing I most enjoy watching is Bo and Luke together, playing off each other, doing crazy stuff, coming up with and executing plans and generally being the best of friends. That's what I love best about this show.
