  1. Well I hope you enjoy Fontana this weekend. I'm sure you will see your guys back up front this time. I hope you enjoy it! Talk to you again on Monday!

  2. I love DW and Jeff Hammond. They are my favorite announcers. I just wish they (DW) would show a little impartiality. (Is that even a word? lol) You know what I mean right? So you love the guy, good for you, but don't be shoving him down my throat. Or you don't like the guy, good for you, but don't be throwing negative comments about my driver around all the time or I won't be watching this telecast much longer. You know what I mean? Like I said, I love them, they are my favorite's, but come on...

Okay, so there is my vent for this week. lol And you'll notice I qualified my negative remark with two positives. That plan is slowly starting to pay off anyway. lol

  3. $650,000!!! Wow, I missed that part. Good grief, I can't imagine...

I think Chrissy Wallace crashed out in the first few laps. I know, wasn't a good race for her. But come on, give her a little attention. At least acknowledge her. I read some of the comments from the other drivers and I think they were a little taken aback about the whole "Danica" phenom too. But I heard on the radio yesterday that it did increase the tv ratings for the nationwide race. I can't remember by how much though. I think they said the cup race ratings were down. They attributed that to the red flag stops for the pothole.

  4. Forever and Ever Amen ~ Randy Travis Okay, I think I've got it figured out. TexasDaisy is correct, Love Like This is a Blackhawk song. It is from their freshman album entitled Blackhawk. I'm going to put the lyrics below. Does this look right TexasDaisy? A king would trade his finest crown For a love, love like this And warriors have laid weapons down For a love, love like this Hearts will break a thousand times For a love, love like this And arms will wait a thousand nights for a Love Love like this (Chorus) Love may come and love may go But here inside your arms I know That only you will ever show me Love like this You and I have finally found Love, love like this A place to lay our burdens down In a love, love like this Hearts can speak without a sound In a love, love like this What makes the world keep turning 'round Is a love, love like this (Chorus) The moon has never shown before On a love, a love like this And I have never wanted more than a love Love like this A love, love like this A love, love like this
  5. Okay, I'm done writing my novel for the moment. lol See ya later...

    :escape:

  6. And what was up with DW screaming for his Junebug to go there at the end. I mean I'm sure all of the announcers have their favorites too, but shouldn't they show a little impartiality? Don't get me wrong, I love Fox's announcers, but that just struck me as a little off, ya know?

And then the commercials, I just need to state for the record here that I LOVED seeing Kyle Busch in pink and kitties. I want to see him race in that getup!!! lol He would never hear the end of it. I've got to think of an idea to dress him up and go to that web site. lol Maybe cows instead of kitties? Or ferrets? hmmmm... I need to think about this one. lol Okay, I'm going to stop now... lol

As far as Carl's baby, have not heard anything yet. I know the official due date is today. So, anytime now. lol Sadler's wife had her baby on Monday I think it was.

  7. I was very happy with the ending. Even Carl pulled out a ninth. I kept saying if he could just get a top ten I would be happy. And he did! Now as long as he can keep up the consistency and win a race or two, he will be in the Chase. And then he can start winning a lot of races. lol I'm hoping he has learned from watching JJ win so many championships. lol I don't discount anybody at this point though. As far as I'm concerned the Daytona race is on a different level than the regular racing. Someone might do well, or bad, there and they turn it around for the rest of the season. It was bad that JJ got taken out by the track itself. That was crazy. And that stupid pothole. Good grief! I can understand how it came about and all that, but I think the track people dropped the ball by not being able to fix it faster than they did.

  8. It was actually pretty funny those last few laps. My sister in law fell to her knees and was smacking the floor screaming Go, Go, Go! All the rest of us were on our feet yelling to. I'm not sure who I was yelling for, Jamie or Jr, I just know I was screaming for someone to go! lol It was great. I can't believe that Jr muscled his way that far up, but I'm sooooo happy he did. I'm thinking the beard needs to stay. It may be his good luck charm. lol I didn't like Tim McGraw's beard though. Are these guys trying to keep their faces warm this winter or what? lol My dad used to grow a beard every winter and he said it was to keep his face warm. lol Tim was good, but I think I enjoyed the Zac Brown Band last week a little more. They were both good.

  9. Now about this Daytona thing everyone is talking about... lol just kidding. I thought it was a great race. Of course we didn't start watching it until later in the afternoon, maybe around 2 I think. I had to get to my brothers house, but had to go to church and then feed the nephew lunch before he fell asleep on the drive over. So my brother DVR'd the race and we got to fast forward through most of the commercials (we watched the good ones) and through some of the red flag stops. I'm not sure how much I would have enjoyed watching that stop without being able to forward through it though. I was extremely happy with how everything shook out, especially Jr's push there at the end. How exciting was that!!! I wish he would have had one more lap to take the win, but I'm happy Jamie won as well. Hopefully things keep up for Jr and this season is a whole heck of a lot better than the past few years.

  10. Hey Garrett! I had a great weekend, even though it snowed... again! I'm gettin' real tired of this winter white stuff. It was great when I was a kid and could go out to play in it. The only worry was if school would please, please, please be cancelled. lol But I made it back home now. The crazy weather people are calling for more on Friday... GRRRRR! lol

Anyway, I actually didn't "watch" the Nationwide race on Saturday. I had my nephew and we played and napped together. lol But my brother DVR'd it, we fast forwarded through it and he showed me the highlights. You know who I feel sorry for? Chrissy Wallace. (I think that's right.) She raced too, but all of the attention was on Danica. I'm happy for Danica and everything, but lets share the love a little bit. Okay, so maybe Chrissy didn't do so great, but still... And Jr's crash, that was harsh. I felt bad for him. Both of his cars crashed out and his was kind of scary to watch.

  11. I sure hope Edwards has a backup plan in place for Saturday and Sunday. It would be disappointing though if he doesn't get to race. Probably for his fans and for him, but the experience of welcoming his new baby, a girl I think, into the world would have to be worth it in my book. There will be more races, but your first baby is only born once. That's my opinion anyway. lol I'm not sure who they would get to take his place. I'm sure there are a lot of racers out there who would love the chance, but I would hope it was someone with a little experience in the Daytona race. Things can get crazy fast there.

  12. I really don't have a party planned at this point. I'm going to my brother's house to watch the race and play with my nephew. Staying the night since I have Monday off. I thought about trying a party, but our weather here is unpredictable. We've tried to set up two surprise parties for my brother and cousin in the last two weeks, but they both had to be cancelled because of the crazy snow. We haven't gotten anywhere near what the East Coast did, but it was enough to stop traveling unless you were crazy. I was crazy enough to get to my parents house last weekend, but that was far enough. I about didn't make it that far. It was scary.

So how are you doing? The weather isn't getting you down is it? I'm so ready for Spring. It will probably rain all spring again like last year, but at this point I will take rain over snow. Not freezing rain though! I don't want that either! lol

  13. I'm not planning on watching the duels today. But... I am going to listen to them. I am going to connect to a MRN radio network on my computer here at work and listen to some of them. It sucks that I have to go to the dentist this afternoon, so I will probably miss some of them anyway. As long as I get to see the big race on Sunday I will be fine though.

  14. Okay, so this is what I heard about Jr's beard. I don't know if it is true or not, but I could see this happening. I was told that Jr grew the beard so that he could lie low in the off season, not get recognized so much I guess. Apparently his sister and someone else hate the beard and wanted him to shave it. What I heard is he is keeping it just to irritate them. Like I said, I don't know if that is true or not, but it sounds like something that would go on in my family. lol Hopefully he gets rid of it soon though. My sister in law, who is a big Jr fan, asked my brother if he thought they would use the same picture of Jr all year. In his picture he has the beard. lol She doesn't like it either.

  15. Isn't it awesome that there will be all these little racers around the track. I wonder if they will have playdates or anything? lol I'm pretty sure Carl Edwards' wife is due any day now. I just hope she doesn't go into labor while he's racing. That would be a HUGE distraction! Surely they have some type of backup ready just in case though. Or maybe he would finish the race since this is the superbowl.

  16. Hey Garrett, I don't mind you copying me at all. I'm not sure if it will even work, but it is worth a try. This week has been a huge struggle to stay positive at work. By the time I make it home I feel so drained, physically and mentally. My job is not that hard, I should not be having fatigue from it. So to put some pep in my step, I've decided to take a day of vacation next week and just spend it with my nephew. He always lightens up my day. Hopefully an extra day off will help a little anyway.

  17. The shootout, in my opinion, was great. I thought there was a lot of excitement and it made me that much more excited for this Sunday's race. I didn't care for the ending either, but was kind of expecting something to happen since it was a green, white, checker race to the finish. Carl finished somewhere around 21st I think, he was caught up in that big pin ball wreck between Gordon and Biffle. That made me really sad since he had ran out front pretty much the whole race and was really doing good. At least it isn't for points I guess. I was happy to see Jamie MacMurry doing such a good job this year. He's a better driver than it always looked when he was at Roush. As far as the accident goes, I really don't think it can be blamed completely on anyone. It's just racing. Biffle had old tires since he didn't pit, so when Gordon did a bump draft or whatever on him, it just spun him. Oh, and I have to ask, what did you think of Dale Jr's beard? lol yuck!

  18. Isn't it cool with all the new babies coming into Nascar. It's like some sort of drivers baby boom or something. lol Jeff Gordan, Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, and Elliot Sadler all will have new babies this year. I think it is great. I love babies too!

  19. This in no way will clear up the issues I'm having, but getting rid of the negativity should help. Unfortunately, the way things are looking I will be out of a job sometime this summer or early fall. That is one issue. It is not for sure yet, but I'm not holding my breath that I will still be here next year this time. It's okay, I wanted a new job anyway and I will be happier when I can move back closer to my family. (See, I had to follow the negative with two positives. lol)

  20. Hey Garrett! Sorry, didn't mean to worry you with my absense. I just didn't want to bring anyone else down with my bad attitude. I have figured out that the old saying "negativity breeds negativity" is in fact true. (I'm not actually sure it goes like that, but surely it is close. lol) I have someone close to me that only has negative feelings it seems, and I picked up some of that. I'm working on putting the positive back into my life now though. Every negative thought I have or hear, I'm going to follow up immediately with two positive thoughts. Maybe that way sooner or later only the positive will stick. It's worth a try anyway.

  21. Hey, did you hear the new about Jeff Gordon yet? Pretty cool!

  22. So did you watch the All Star race or whatever it was last Saturday night on Speed? I don't get the Speed channell so I missed it. I was snowed in for the day, so I didn't get to go to my brother's house either. I pouted of course. lol But my brother said the only two names he recognized were David Reutiman and Joey Logano. The rest were drivers in the Nascar East and Nascar West leagues. Still, I bet it was fun to watch.

So how are things going for you? Things good?

  23. So anyway, I heard about Kyle Busch's contract signing too, but I never did hear how many years it was for. Did you? When it first came out they wouldn't tell, just said it was for mulitple years or some such. That's frustrating. Then I heard how a lot of people were picking Denny Hamlin as their favorite to win the whole shabang this year (like they did with Carl last year), but I don't agree with that at all. How many races has he won total? That's my point anyway. And then I heard how Hamlin hurts himself playing basketball, but decided not to have the surgery until the end of this season. Good grief. I did hear about some of the rule changes, but besides the spoiler (which you mentioned) I can't remember anything off the top of my head. I guess I'd better refresh myself before next Sunday. Yeah!!!

  24. Hey Garrett, long time no see... and it's all my fault. Thanks for being concerned for me, that gives a warm feeling inside and I appreciate it. As for the reason I was away for almost a month... well, it ain't simple. I had some issues I was trying to work through and I was super busy on top of that. I'm not going to spell it all out here though, I don't won't to bore anyone to death. lol I'll just say I've worked through some of them and pushed the others to the side for now. I'm very good at pushing stuff to the side. lol

Anyway, So Daytona's just a few days away now. Sorry I wasn't here to talk shop with you. I bet you were having Nascar withdrawals. lol I have heard some news, but not a lot. I keep meaning to check out some headlines on Nascar.com, but most of the time I just don't get around to it. What a lousy excuse huh? lol

  25. Well, I'm back to work now. Too bad. I sure could use more days off, especially since the dreaded four letter word is making itself known again in my area. I had a pretty scary drive back to my apartment from my parents house yesterday. I've driven thru worse, but at the time I couldn't think of anything worse. We're supposed to get more on Wednesday and Thursday so I'm going to the grocery store tonight and stocking up. This is just craziness. Wasn't this stuff supposed to stop at Christmas? lol Have a great day and I'll talk to you soon!
