  1. As for Letarte, he made a decision that he thought would win Gordon the race. Sure people can say afterward that he made the wrong decision, but they weren't right there at the time. They might say they would have done different, but they usually say that after everything is done and over. I can be a crew chief like that. lol If Gordon is comfortable with him, then I don't understand what all the naysayers are about. I'm sure a four time champion can tell what he needs on top of the pit box. I hope that makes sense. I'm tired tonight so I don't know if I'm just rambling on and not making sense or not. Guess I'd better leave it there for tonight. lol

  2. I do get tired of seeing the 48 take it all, whether it be the race or the championship. Admittedly, he's not one of my favorite drivers, but it just seems like it's the same thing every week. I'd like a little variation I guess. JJ is a great driver with a great crew chief, so it is going to take a lot to beat them. Some people just want to complain because they aren't seeing their driver win. I'm sure if it was their driver they would be floating on cloud nine. lol For the first year or so I probably would too. But I like to see some real competition you know? Like I said, JJ is very talented and he has deserved every win. I've got to give him props for that. Of course I'll still be rooting my drivers on each week just like everyone else. ;) Some people just like to complain though, whatever is done will never be enough. That's just life I guess.

  3. I really didn't notice DW and Hammond this time, wasn't really paying attention to them. I had my nephew, so I was trying to pay attention to two different things at a time. For some reason he can't sit still for three plus hours to watch a race. lol Go figure. lol

On to Atlanta right? I think... lol All I can focus on is March 21st. Bristol Baby!!! Only 19 more days before I'm sitting at the track breathing the gas fumes, hearing the roaring engines, and screaming Go, Go, Go! lol I think I'm starting to get excited. lol I wish I had an extra ticket, I'd take you with me. You'd love it, I know you would!

  4. Well, I thought that Gordon had it all tied up on Sunday too. I guess you should never discount ol' JJ though. It does seem like he gets all of the luck, but Knaus really made a good call for four tires on that last pit stop. He has to be one of the best crew chiefs, I have to admit. I wonder how Gordon would do with Knaus as a crew chief? Well, at this point it looks like it's JJ's year again... unless... he has a year like Kyle Busch did two years ago I believe. Won a lot of races in the beginning and then fizzled out in the end. I don't see that happening though, not with the team they have.

  5. Did you watch the Nationwide race this past weekend? Apparently they ran a commercial for Charlotte. They are offering Coca Cola 600 tickets for 50% off. My cousin called and found out that puts them at $29.50. That is an awesome price. We were throwing around maybe trying to go, but I'm sure it's probably not a good idea for me with the job deal going on. But that's a hard deal to pass up. lol

  6. Hey Garrett! How's it going this week? We're finally having some pretty weather (at least pretty if you compare it to what we were having.) ;) It makes you want to get outside and soak up some sun, even if the wind does chill you right to the bone.

I have to admit that Fontana is probably my least favorite track. Even though Edwards usually does pretty good there as well, it just bores me. Probably just my mindset, but that's how it is. I'm not sure what kind of track Kentucky is, mile and a half, mile, half-mile... I just think it would be good to get something new in there. Plus it's pretty close so I could probably go to that track. lol If it is between Kansas and Kentucky getting a race, I hope they go for Kentucky. Kansas would be closer for me, but hey like I said, something new. Especially if it is a little different than the normal "cookie cutter" tracks as everyone calls them (like Kansas.) I think we have enough of those. Just my opinion though. lol

  8. Well, I'm predicting that Carl Edwards is going to have an awesome race and win the whole thing, or a horrible race and be in the back somewhere. His wife had her baby on Wednesday, 8 lbs and something and they named her Anne. I just read that on Nascar.com, but I can't remember the weight. How bad is my memory getting. lol Well, I'd better get back to work. lol I will talk with you again on Monday. Have a great weekend and enjoy the race!

  9. That would be fun to meet up at a track. I'm sure we'd have lots of fun, even if we were debating about each others drivers. lol And right now is the time to go. I just saw where you can get Charlotte tickets for basically $40 a person if you buy a four pack. Plus you get hot dogs and soda I think. When I went, we had to pay around $90 a person and we didn't get hotdogs. lol So prices are coming down and getting more reasonable. Hopefully they stay that way until I can afford to go again. (plus I will have to build up vacation time again. *big sigh*)

  10. I read an article about Fontana the other day. It was saying that Nascar was "considering" taking one of Fontana's dates away. There reasons being that the Kentucky Speedway that (I think) Dale Jr and Tony Stewart bought together is looking to get a date in the season. And then there is Kansas Speedway. They want to add a second date to that track because they are building the big casino and hotel right next to the track. So that's who wants to take Fontana's dates. As far as I'm concerned let them, I'd like to see a race in Kentucky and another race in Kansas would be cool too, maybe that would bring the prices down some. I also think that there really isn't that big of a Nascar culture there. Admittedly the track is boring, so whoever lives that close probably drives on over to Vegas. It really isn't that far. Just my thoughts and opinions though. I could be totally wrong.

  11. So on to Vegas, any predictions? I just hope we have another exciting race.

  12. Well, like I said, if you ever go to a race let me know. I will see about trying to get there myself and we can meet up. That would be fun. Although, I'm not sure how many races I will get to attend in the future. We were officially told yesterday that our jobs will end this summer and our facility is being completely shut down. I was depressed about it at first, but then decided this is God's way of moving me forward to better things. I wasn't completely happy with my job anyway, and wanted to move closer to family. So I'm pretty upbeat about it right now. We've got a few months so I can get things figured out and everything. It's going to be a good thing, I just know it.

  13. I didn't get to see the end of the race, which sucks since I got to see the beginning. Ah well, I guess some of the race is better than none. lol But "orders is orders" so I won't miss anymore. lol

As far as tracks go, we have considered going to Chicagoland, but like you said it is kind of expensive. But then again, the cheapest seats you can get at Bristol are $94, so that isn't a whole lot cheaper. But it is Bristol. You get what you pay for I guess. I looked into Kansas tickets and they want $165 for the two races. That seems pretty expensive to me when you can normally get tickets to Talladega for both races for $60. And Charlotte for $90. Not sure what the big deal with Kansas prices are. Maybe it's because they only have one race a year there and they have to make as much money as they can, when they can. Craziness if you ask me, which they don't. lol

  15. Me and God ~ Josh Turner Hey Roger, could that possibly be a Roy Clark song? I'm not positive though.
  16. So it all depends on the track as to what you are going to get. It might just be me, but the atmosphere at each track is just a little different. I think you should go to at least one race. It really is a whole heck of a lot of fun. Just be warned, usually once you go to one race you get the fever and just want to keep going. lol I say usually because sometimes people have bad experiences. My advice is to keep you mind open to new experiences and just go with the flow. That's what I do and I have a whole heck of a lot of fun!

Well, here is another novel for you to read. lol But get me talking about going to races and I just can't stop! lol If you do decide to go to a race, you will have to let me know. I really think you would have a lot of fun.

  17. Talladega is a superspeedway and you are always waiting for the big one. The racing is good and there is a party all the time atmosphere there. Plus the tickets are very reasonably priced. I saw on tv that they are selling tickets for $49. That is an awesome price. They might not be the best seats, but I bet it is worth it.

We have talked about going to Martinsville next year. They are having some good ticket sales there too, so I was told. Another short track.

We would all like to go to Texas and Las Vegas too. I think those two races would be fun. And personally I'd like to go to Atlanta. I know that is one of Carl's favorite tracks and that is what makes me want to go. lol

  18. It's really hard to pick a favorite track. I love all of the tracks I've been to for different reasons. Bristol, well just the fact that it's Bristol. It's a short track and that is fun to watch too, but don't go if you want to be able to talk to the person next to you. You can't hear a thing. lol

I like Charlotte because it is a night race and that is fun. Plus you can go to all of the teams race shops. They are all right around that area and that is a lot of fun too. This is one race that I can't wait to go back too for the above two reasons. There is so much to do there, and of all the places I've been, one of the easiest places to travel for me. Of coarse I know some of the side roads and short cuts now so I can get around the traffic a little bit. lol That always helps.

  19. Well, at this point we are only going to one race this year. We're doing Bristol next month. Although, I am researching the prices for Kansas this fall. They are finally selling single tickets instead of making you buy season tickets. They still seem a little expensive to me though. It is just a thought and depends on a lot of things. But it is close to me, only two hours away, so that is a good thing.

  20. Is it me or does it seem as if Jr always gets all the bad luck and Johnson always gets all of the good luck? That's the way it feels sometimes. lol Oh well. lol

So DW and Hammond were showing their colors again huh? I didn't catch that, but it was probably after I stopped watching. I wish those two would show just a little more impartiallity. It couldn't hurt. I bet they are turning a lot of people off that way. How many people are turning off the sound on their tv's and listening to the race on the radio while watching a muted tv? I've read that some people do that because they can't stand the Fox announcers. Maybe Fox's ratings would go up if they changed this one thing, you know? *shrug* Who knows, just a thought.

  21. So Happy Harvick slapped the wall huh? Well, whatever he did, it sure sounds like the RCR team has gotten their stuff together this year. They are finally challenging for the lead. It's good to see them back. I'm okay with Harvick, but I think I like Jeff Burton better.

So what was the deal with Jr's car? The article I skimmed said something about a broken axle or something? How does that happen in Nascar? I mean jeez... It seems like they would be testing the strength of things like that before the put them on the car. Maybe it was just one bad one. I can only hope so.

  22. I didn't watch all of the race on Sunday... :-o

It wasn't because I didn't want to. I saw the first third of it. But then I had to head home. I had to stop and visit with some cousins of mine. One of them was in from Wisconsin and he wanted to see me. Haven't seen him in six or seven years, so I felt I had to give up my race. lol I was hoping to make it home for the ending, but it didn't happen.

  23. Thanks for posting that link. There are some funny pictures there. I get the feeling that they don't want Johnson to win anymore and that they are Jr fans. lol

Okay, so here it is... my big secret... are you ready?...
