  1. Well, somebody beat me to the punch announcing this great news, but I will add that the season 5 front cover will have Daisy Duke and the General Lee, which I find appropriate for two reasons: 1: Bo and Luke's absence for 18 episodes. 2: Since Boss Hogg was on the 4th season cover instead of Daisy, she returns to the front cover for this season. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  2. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. After doing a post about Rosco's funniest moments, I got to thinking about another funny repetitive situation. While Boss, Rosco, and Enos have all had crashes in the drink, it seems that Deputy Cletus Hogg has been dunked more times than anybody else, and it seems funnier when he goes into the Hazzard Pond or some form of water. What is your favorite dunking moment with Cletus? Mine is the Great Bank Robbery Season four. Cletus goes into Hazzard Pond 3 TIMES!!! And each time, Waylon has had something fun to comment on. 1: After Cletus's first dunking, he tries to talk to the Dukes, chases them on foot, slips, and falls into some spilled water on the street. Waylons' comment: I swear if it rained soup, ole Cletus's bowl would be upside down. 2: After his second dunking, Waylon says something like: While Cooter was pumping the sludge out of Cletus's car... Again.., 3: Third dunking: CLETUS: Oh no not again! WAYLON: Yes Cletus. Again. That's my favorite of Cletus's dunkings. When I met Rick Hurst, I loved his comment about having to get a wet suit. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  3. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. I've got another idea for a topic about episodes. All TV shows have stupid moments or moments when characters do something that makes you want to smack them upside the head and say "WHAT WERE YOU THINKIN?!" Well, I'm sure there are plenty of moments like that on the Dukes. After watching the uncut version of the Sound of Music: Hazzard Style, I recall my favorite part of the episode, yet it was a stupid situation and both Luke and Cletus get the What were you thinkin smack on the back of their heads. Luke and Cletus? Yep. Same scene, only Waylon sums up Luke's stupid move vocally. THE SITUATION: Following Bo and Luke's battles with Heep and Morton in Mud Flats, Daisy warns the boys that an unmaned construction vehicle is moving toward the parked General Lee. So a very muddy Luke Duke races past the vehicle, executes the best ever hood slide and window climb I've ever seen him do, AND THE CAR WON'T START!!!!! LMAO!!!! To quote Waylon: You know sometimes when you don't always think clear? Like why didn't he just shut er down? I've done that. It isn't until the construction vehicle is treacherously close that the General's stubborness gives way and finally cranks and Luke makes it out of the way in time. Cletus makes the bigger blunder. Ignoring the construction vehicle and the General Lee refusing to turn over, Cletus pulls in right next to Luke. What's funny though is when Bo has to get Cletus out of his squad car and Cletus is pushing against the already opened door. While that scenario is stupid, it is my favorite part of the episode. Do any of you have a What were you thinkin moment with any characters on any episodes? This is the post to place your favorites. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

  5. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. With reluctance and yet curiosity, I went and saw the Dukes of Hazzard Movie Friday night in tradition with the night the show originally aired with a college buddy of mine who is also a Dukes fan. We also hooked up with another friend of mine, Billy Stephenson, who was an extra on the set and was very visible in the scene at the race track. Billy is seen walking up the bleachers. Anyway, please note that my review is my own personal opinion and I have no intentions of getting into some flaming arguments. If you disagree with me, that okay, because like one previous poster said, it's our God given right. With this disclaimer aside, here is my review: My opnion of the DUKES OF HAZZARD MOVIE is... NEUTRAL: To quote what others have said, to view this movie and get some enjoyment out of it, you have to view it as something original. If you try to mentally compare it to the original TV series, you will be disappointed. I'm going to start with my negatives and get them out of the way. What really killed this movie for me is Jessica Simpson. I'm sorry folks, but I just downright HATE her. To me, she did a godawful job as Daisy Duke. While Cathy's Daisy also used her beauty and feminine wiles to distract men, Jessica's Daisy just came across as an awful tease. She reminded me of a few girls I've encountered throughout my life whom I now despise. I never liked Jessica prior to this movie and I still don't like her now. To quote or misquote Shania Twain "She don't impress me much". The other thing that ruined it for me was the language or at least one place where it was wrongly used. It didn't bother me as much for Bo and Luke to be cussing given that it's Sean William (Stifler) Scott and Johnny (Jackass) Knoxville in the roles, but the fact that Uncle Jesse, whom I'm used to being the moral backbone of the series said the blasphemous gd word one time. I actually imagined Denver Pyle turning over in his grave when I saw that part. Sorry folks, but I am siding with Ben Jones on this one. It is not a movie to take your kids to if you want to shield them from bad language. Now don't get me wrong. I can handle raw language in some movies like military, police, or comedies like Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, but there ought to be a time and place for everything and the Dukes movie shouldn't have had the bad language or at least not too much of it. Again folks, this is only my opinion, don't take it as a fact or personally. The only other character that bugged me was Enos. He looked like a total dork. There is no way Daisy could have been attracted to this Enos. He makes the original Enos look like Mr. Olympia. And this Sheev guy I did not care for. I keep thinking he was the crazy cop that went postal in the restaurant in Super Troopers. As for anything else negative, that's it believe it or not. Now for the positives. Aside from Jessica Simpson, Enos, and the negatives, I actually enjoyed this movie more than I thought I would. THE DUKES OF HAZZARD MOVIE reminded me more of Moonrunners and Smokey and the Bandit and to a lesser extent, the first five Georgia filmed episodes of the Dukes TV series. I liked the locations in which this movie was filmed. It had a realistic tone and I am so relieved they did not use the Burbank lot in California. I enjoyed the narration of Junior Brown. he did a great job as the narrator. I am glad they showed respect by playing a portion of Waylon's Good Ole Boys and the beginning. The one original cast member in the movie was the General Lee. I was actually impressed at how it was a more junky car in the beginning with no flag or name tagging on the side and the 01 looked like a grade schooler painted it. I also enoyed the rebirth of the car. BO AND LUKE DUKE: I must admit it will take some getting used to, but I got a kick out of SWS and Knoxville's performances. Bo Duke was a total idiot! But man he was funny! Stifler always makes me laugh no matter what he does. I especially chuckled at the fact that even though Bo had a girlfriend in the end, he was in love with the car and even talked to it like it was a person. LMAO!!! On the series, I liked how Bo was the girl chaser while Luke had more serious relationships. In this new movie, Luke was a womanizer and it kind of reverse manner, when it came to women, Luke got em in trouble and Bo had to get em out of it with his driving skills. UNCLE JESSE: Even though he was vulgar with his language, I must admit, I loved how his first set of jokes was purposely used to lead up to questioning Bo and Luke about the botched shine delivery. BOSS HOGG: Burt Reynolds reminded me more of the Bandit gone into politics. His Boss Hogg was more evil than Sorell Booke's boss and the part where he grabbed Rosco's nose with the kitchen utensil was the only thing that reminded me of their relationship on the series. SHERIFF ROSCO P. COLTRANE: I was dreading MC Ganiney's Rosco because he wasn't played for laughs, but I will give him credit, Rosco as a mean sheriff reminded me more of the neighboring sheriffs on the series, like Sheriff Little, Sheriff Emmett "Spike" Loomis, and Colonel Cassiuss Claiborne. COOTER: This guy did a fairly good job as Cooter and was the only cast member to remind me of the original Cooter only without the CB handle. THE GENERAL LEE: I loved the car chases and jumps and the way the car was handled. Whoever said the stunts were more spectacular was right. WONDER WOMAN!!: I loved Lynda Carter as Pauline. She was great. Though I am bummed out that the muffins dialogue was deleted from the final cut. One more: The addition of Flash!!! That was awesome!!!! And that is my review in a nutshell. How do I compare the movie to the TV series? Give me the TV series over the movie any day. I liked the movie to an extent, but there were several things in it that will forever keep my from fully loving it. Regarding the language, I am siding with Ben Jones on that one. The Dukes of Hazzard was a fun movie, but as far as I'm concerned, I've seen my favorite movie of the year after seeing Batman Begins three times. So once again, my overall feeling the DUKES OF HAZZARD MOVIE is NEUTRAL. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

  7. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. There was something I wanted to share on the forums that I thought was rather interesting. I really feel that there were certain common things that the Dukes of Hazzard and the Prime Time Soap Dallas mutually shared. I've always felt strongly about this and this is the first time I'm sharing these thoughts. I really feel the Dukes and Dallas ran parallel to each other because of similar incidents on both shows. 1: GROWING POPULARITY: Even though the Ewings had been on a year before the Dukes, Dallas officially moved to Friday nights on the very same night the Dukes made their debut. And from there, both shows grew together in popularity at the same time. While Hazzard fans couldn't wait to see the Duke boys outrun Rosco P. Coltrane, late night viewers were dying to know Who Shot J.R.? 2: DEPARTURES AND PRODIGAL RETURNS: When both shows reached the peak of their popularities, major cast members left the shows for different reasons and the shows suffered. When Tom Wopat and John Schneider left the Dukes of Hazzard, Bo and Luke were replaced by Coy and Vance and the show suffered. In 1985, Patrick Duffy left Dallas and Bobby Ewing was killed off. Even though it made for a good storyline or two, the show suffered without him and it started to imitate it's ABC competitor Dynasty with Greek characters and odd plots. However, Bo and Luke returned to the Dukes and Coy and Vance left at the same time and all felt right with the world. Meanwhile, after nearly one year, Larry Hagman made an appeal to Patrick Duffy to return to Dallas and he appeared in the final scene lathering it up in the shower. The result? Pam dreamed that Bobby had died. Although it was lame, it was the only logical way to resurrect Bobby from the dead and the show felt right again. Once again, all was right with the world. 3: CHEAP ENDINGS: The Dukes and Dallas got real cheap in their last seasons. The Dukes started filming jump sequences with miniature cars in the final season. This process actually started in Cooter's Confession, the 6th season finale. And for it's last two final seasons, Dallas no longer went to film on location in Texas. It was all California at that point, let alone most of the original cast memebrs were gone by then. 4: REUNION MOVIES: The Dukes and Dallas both had 2 reunion movies each and the first ones were better received than the last ones. 5: ACCENTS: Even though the Dukes are southern and Dallas is in Texas, the accents are at least similar and give you a southern feel to them. 6: GUEST STARS: Morgan Woodward, Morgan Brittany, and Audrey Landers of Dallas all appeared in the Dukes. Morgan Brittany only appeared once while the other two appeared twice. Denver Pyle did two episodes of Dallas in the 12th season in 1990 and still looked like Uncle Jesse. If anyone here who watches or enjoys Dallas, you'll know what I've been talking about. If not, you've learned something new. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

  9. Here is a simple idea for the cover of a season five DVD release. A photo of the General Lee. Whether parked or in flying mode. The back cover could have a photo of Coy and Vance and the cast members. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

  11. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. I am normally in a good mood when I visit this site and post in the forum. But tonight, I am so angry, I'm seeing red. Redder than Uncle Jesse's hunting cap. RIDDLE ME THIS: WHEN IS A COMPLETE DVD BOXSET OF ANY SEASON OF ANY TV SERIES A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY? ANSWER: WHEN ONE DANG *%@#! DISC IN THE SET IS DEFECTIVE!!!!!!!! Sorry guys and gals, but I need to vent. I bought the 3rd season of the Dukes of Hazzard boxset at Dukesfest and on the 4th of July, Ben Jones autographed it for me at Cooter's Place in Nashville. It has taken me this long to nearly complete viewing it. Last night, I'm enjoying the Hack of Hazzard when it comes to the scene in Shoveltown right before the fight scene, the $!@% disc starts freezing up and won't move forward or skips and I can't enjoy the rest of the episode!! What's worse, the Canterbury Crock won't play at all!!!! I tried cleaning the disc and it didn't help worth a tinker's d---!!!! I have the same problem with the first season DVD release of Dallas. The last two episodes on the last disc are defective and won't play either. On the 3rd season of Wonder Woman, only one episode on the last disc is defective!!! My two questions are: 1: WHAT GIVES?!!!!!!!! 2: Do any of you have this kind of problem with any TV DVD boxset, whether it be the Dukes or another show? I've already spent near $45 bucks on this set at Dukesfest and now I'll have to spend that much more for another 3rd season boxset just to test and see if that particular disc will work!!! I've already bought the 4th season of the Dukes on DVD and I fear of having this same problem. BTW, Cooter's Place got the boxsets a few days early before the official release. I wonder if the problem might be with WB and their DVD manufacturing dept. because Wonder Woman and Dallas are also owned by WB. All I know is, if I don't find a complete set that works, I'm going to be furious. It's stupid problems like this that make you reconsider throwing out your VCR and VHS tapes. At least they don't freeze up and skip. Once again, I apologize, but I am a disgruntled Dukes fan who just wants to view every episode on DVD without problems. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

  13. It will be on the WB network, so whatever channel is the WB network for you is the channel to watch. Hope this helps.

  15. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. Since I haven't seen anything posted on here yet, I thought I'd share the good news. For those of you who watch John Schneider on Smallville, be prepared for a Duke Boys reunion!! Tom Wopat will be guest starring in an episode of Smallville for the fifth season. In it, he'll play a state senator who is a childhood frend of Jonathan Kent. This is one show to set your VCRs for. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

  17. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. My favorite scenes: 1: This one I can't get enough of: Bo VS Luke on the Duke farm in Carnival of Thrills. Right after Bo hits Luke, Luke gets up from the ground with a quote I'll always remember (especially if I ever get into a fight against someone I could beat easily) LUKE: Cousin. You just started somethin you ain't half man enough to finish! Dramatic moments: Especially Rosco. For all his comical talent, Jimmy Best can really show you what he's got in the way of dramatic emotions. The way Rosco begs Bo and Luke to come to Boss Hogg's rescue while he's tied up in Grannie Annie. That scene you guys recalled in Ghost of General Lee. Rosco's torn emotions after Flash is abducted in A Boy's Best Friend. And the final episode, Opening Night at the Boar's Nest when he's all alone crying thinking that Boss Hogg is gone forever. That scene with Luke unconscious in the hospital in Brotherly Love not to mention Bo, Luke, and Daisy's emotions after Uncle Jesse winds up in a coma after his fall in the 10 Million Dollar Sheriff. And last but not least: Welcome Back Bo N Luke when Boss Hogg is about to announce the two beauty contest winners who tied: BOSS HOGG: And the winners are... BO AND LUKE DUKE!!!!!!!! Plus everybody's reaction when Bo and Luke enter the Boar's Nest. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

  19. Greetings from Hazzard Tn. Regarding the quote about the Coy and Vance episodes being the only other ones without Bo other than Baa Baa White Sheep, that's not entirely true. The 6th season had 2 episodes without Bo. 1: How To Succeed in Hazzard 2: The Fortune Tellers Those were Luke and Daisy episodes, however, unlike Baa Baa White Sheep, Bo is not entirely gone. He's at a NASCAR rally and he has cameos in those two episodes as he calls the Dukes at the end of those episodes. In the first one, he calls them at home while he's on the track and in the next one, he calls them at the Boar's Nest while relaxing in a trailer or motor home. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man

In the first one, he calls them at home while he's on the track and in the next one, he calls them at the Boar's Nest while relaxing in a trailer or motor home. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  21. I'm glad somebody else brought this up in a post. I personally feel about this the way I feel about the whole chronological order of the show. Starting out with Uncle Boss. I can definitely say for sure that this was supposed to be an early season two episode. According to the Dukes of Hazzard Companion book, because of the order CBS aired them, Arrest Jesse Duke is described as the first appearance of Hughie Hogg. But if you watch these episodes, Boss doesn't make a big deal over Hughie as he does in Uncle Boss, whereas Boss says he'll have to bring in his "Secret Weapon" against the Dukes. This was actually suposed to be Hughie's debut on the series because of this fanfare. Other indications of it being an early season two episode are: 1: Enos Strate is still deputy obviously. 2. Once again, the reappearance of Daisy's yellow Plymouth after it was destroyed in the Runaway. 3. Bo and Luke's hairstyles are shorter than the recent season three episodes 4. Luke's wearing the plain blue shirt again. 5. Flash is not around yet. 6. Cooter's five o clock shadow is back. 7. The music on the trailer is the same music used on the trailers of Days of Shine and Roses, the Meeting, and Road Pirates. 8. They were still filming on the Walt Disney Ranch, but then again, so were the Carnival of Thrills and Baa Baa White Sheep. 9. For the last reason, I repeat my statement of the fanfare used to introduce Hughie Hogg as Boss's secret weapon against the Dukes. The shuffling up of the chornological order has never made any sense. CBS did it and so did syndication in two different ways. When I view my DVDs and old tape recordings off TNN, I put Uncle Boss in between Days of Shine and Roses and Gold Fever. I also watch Find Loretta Lynn in the early half of season two because of the presence of Daisy's Plymouth and the presence of both Cooter and Rosco before they took their leaves from the show. I also prefer the non Cooter episodes together and the non Rosco episodes together, just so that the show will make better sense. But anyway, that's just me. I'm glad to have the first three seasons out on DVD and I eagerly look forward to season four this summer. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
  22. My trip to Dukesfest was good but could have been better. I would have preferred to travel to Bristol Friday morning and get settled in. But my radio station had a late afternoon remote and I had to work. I didn't get away until after 7:00pm and I didn't arrive at the Days Inn until after midnight. The next morning, I had a major money scare. I had deposited my money Friday morning and it showed up in the ATM that afternoon, however, the money wasn't there on Saturday morning, so I had to use what little I had available to eat breakfast at Shoney's and then get to Dukesfest. I arrived at bumper to bumer traffic, but it didn't take too long to get parked. I got to the autograph tent, but failed to notice that you had to get a ticket, hence the long line I saw. So I got into the line inside the tent to see John Schneider and I played it dumb, thankfully, I wasn't turned away. Good thing too. I later on saw how long that line had gotten. I got to meet John and he surprisingly remembered me and my voice impressions from a few years ago. I had a Polaroid picture taken with him. When I told him I was program director at my station and that we spin his greatest hits album, John gave me a copy of his new CD, which I will listen to and hopefully find some good songs to play on the air. John is a very nice guy and he looked younger than he does on Smallville. After leaving the tent, I saw that CMT was having a Rosco impersonation contest, so I couldn't resist and got onstage, and did the voices of all the Dukes of Hazzard characters. I got a CMT T shirt and some Boss Hogg's beef jerky. I was still worried about the money situation and I left Dukesfest for a while. When I saw the lineup of traffic waiting to get in, I figured I'd never get back in and I saw one car pulled off into the turn lane because it apparently broke down. I went back to the Days Inn and took a nap. Well, later that day, I checked the ATM and the money I thought was missing was there, so I went back to Dukefest around 4:00 and got in with no problem and no traffic. I enjoyed the stunt show and I was right at the stage when it happened and when the cast assembled. I waved to Catherine Bach and I couldn't believe it, she STILL remembered me by name and she said "Hey Will!" I'm amazed how John, Cathy, or any of them can remember fans by name since they meet millions of people all the time. I accomplished my mission that day and I bought the 3rd season on DVD. The next day, I got up earlier and arrived at Dukesfest within the 8:00 hour and surprisingly, the traffic wasn't bad. They had apparently opened up the gates and I got in and got parked quickly. Everybody literally ran for the autgraph tent like a relay for life race and I got lined up to meet James Best. When I met him, I was amazed that he and Dorothy remembered me and my voices from the previous year. Well, I realized that meeting any of the others would have been downright impossible, The lines were all too long and now we get to what I hated about the trip. I was hoping against hope that the weather would be real nice like it was a week or two ago. But unfortunately, Mother Nature gave me and all of us there the proverbial middle finger. It was like August and was terribly hot, hazy, and humid. Temperatures reached the 90's. I was hanging out with Jerry Rushing and Paul Harrington, the head of the Canadian Dukes Fan Club under a tent and after Shooter Jennings performed, I made the tough decision of leaving early. So I missed John's stage performance and stunt show with the jumping of the General Lee. I figured I'd either stay and go from being roasted to charred and get caught in the heavy traffic leaving, or leave early while there's no traffic and avoid health problems. I had no protection from the sun and I am redder than Uncle Jesse's Barbecue sauce. All in all, it was a good trip. I accomplished my main missions. I met John and Jimmy. I didn't have to meet Cathy since I met her in Pigeon Forge last week, and if I want to see Ben or Rick (or Sonny in absentia) I'll go to Cooter's Place. Except for desert drought conditions, I had a blast. I especially enjoyed making new friends at Dukesfest and getting the chance to do my voice impressions of the cast. Cheers. 23. Yes. All is good. I'm a Dukes of Hazzard fanatic and I want to make friends here. Not get anybody upset. Cheers.
  24. Whoa! Take it easy! I didn't mean that in a negative way. I go by what I've heard. A friend of mine went and saw him on Broadway and got to meet him backstage. She observed the people ahead of him and according to what she told me, Tom loved chatting if it was about Broadway or anything else, but if DOH was mentioned, he was less than thrilled, so when she met him, she didn't mention the DOH to him and he enjoyed talking to her. I like Tom Wopat and Luke Duke was the character I used to portray as a kid while all the other guys wanted to be Bo. I guess I just want to be prepared to say the right thing to Tom and not the wrong if I ever meet him again. I just bought season three and I watched the extra features. Peace.
  25. I'll definitely be there. I'm hoping to say hello to John Schneider, though I imagine he and Catherine Bach will have the longest fan lines. Since I already met Catherine last weekend, I'm going to focus on the other cast members. Hopefully, the weather will be better and it won't be as bloody hot as it was last year. I also hope they have season 3 DVDs for sale out there so I can buy it and get it autographed. Cheers. Will Rodgers The Voice Man
