  1. Wikipedia gives a range of 255 to 325, the higher figure being attributed to Ben Jones. At the end of the day, no one knows. It's probably safe to say that the total number is around 300, or roughly two cars per episode.

'The Andy Griffith Show' ran for 249 episodes/8 seasons from 1960 to 1968. From what I've read, Andy decided to leave the show to pursue a movie career and other projects. 'Mayberry R.F.D.' was a spin-off/continuation of 'The Andy Griffith Show' that still had many of the same characters. It ran for 78 episodes/3 seasons from 1968 to 1971 - Andy Griffith appeared in 6 episodes. 'Mayberry R.F.D.' was cancelled as part of CBS' "rural purge" where they wanted to make more politically correct shows targeted at a younger, more urban audience. Other victims of the purge were 'The Beverly Hillbillies', 'Petticoat Junction' and 'Green Acres'. A network cancelling a popular rural-based TV show, now that sounds familiar...

Yeah starting with the final episode of TAGS called Mayberry R. F. D. that introduced that spinoff. #249 of TAGS.

  5. So upon closer look I think some GL's can be seen in the 85 aerial but hard to say for sure. The orange-ish cluster blob is in the correct area the Tom Sermento shop should be I believe. Some other white objects possibly patrol cars as well. Wish the 85 view was more clear. The most puzzling thing is when you jump to 92-94. In that same area 1 very clear orange object can be seen surrounded by 2 white objects (again maybe patrol cars?) When you compare the size to say the Nothing But Trouble mansion or the Duke farm it's the right size for a car. Why this is so strange is if that is a GL why was 1 car left behind after the Wooten deal in 91? What car would this be? The Forever Young WGL02?

  6. Super interesting thanks for the link! Looks like the Dukes landmarks made it all the way to 93/94 before being torn down. Too bad there's not a shot between 85 and 92 when the field of 20 something GL's and other hazzard vehicles could have been seen from above. Clearly the Wayne Wooten deal had already taken place by the time we get to the 1992 aerial.

    Does that include Jessica Simpson?

  8. Jessica Simpsons was on Leno last night(Friday3/25), and she talked briefly about the movie. She did say the movie studio had high expectations for the upcoming movie, and were most likely planning on a sequel. Other than that she was her normal ditzy-self.

  9. I'd ask if you were gonna try to sell me some swamp land in FL. I know there have been people who watch her show and they say she had on a brown wig....but eh I dunno. Personally, I don't like her She's like nails against a chalkbaord. I cannot watch anyone who pretends, or is, that stupid in real life. And if they did slap a wig on her why not just find someone with brown hair? There are no brunettes in hollywood that have long legs, a pretty face and a tight...eh butt?
