  1. Okay, once the paint cures, it's time to fully detail the engine bay. I use as many photos of the real thing as possible and try to copy what I see in them. Since every one of them seems to be different, I end up just using the best possible features to scratchbuild and copy. I keep a supply of 4-5 different sizes of plastic-coated wire in varying colors, plus fine metal wire. Several details on the firewall as well as the water reservoir and horn were scratchbuilt. Master cylinder & servo housing were painted with Alclad lacquers (Stainless Steel & Titanium)

  2. Cousin Capt Redneck... The reason for that is because WJ was an RCA artist and could not record for another label. Scotti Bros. made the TV series CD. So a sound alike was used on it for WJ. However, you'll find that in recent years, Jennings CD version appears on the re-release of the TV series CD as a bonus track.

  5. Late in Season 1 when they switched to the '71 Satellite, they painted it in a yellow to match the original '73/4 Roadrunner. For the RR it had been a factory standard for that particular year, but apparently for continuity (and hoping the fans would not notice the change) they painted the new Satellite in the same shade of yellow as the Roadrunner. Thus it was a non-standard color for a '71 Plymouth of any sort. After much research, and following an online discussion, the color seems to have been "Yellow Blaze." Fortunately Scalefinishes.com, who produces factory-matching colors for auto modelmakers, does carry this color...and when mine arrived I knew from the first glance that I had it right! Once sprayed I left it for over a week simply because I wanted it 100% cured before I began to handle it over and over and over.

  7. What lyrics (doesn't have to be whole songs) remind you of characters or events in Hazzard County? ------------------------------------------- One day I looked into my rear view mirror And comin' up from behind There was a Georgia State policeman And a hundred dollar fine He looked me in the eye as he was writin' me up He said "Driver, you been flyin'. The ninety-five was the route you were on It was not the speed limit sign."

    The last 24 hours

We'll Cancel Culture struck one of the other suburbs. They used to have a day that celebrated former president William Henry Harrison who was also a local 1812 war hero. The chamber of commerce got "woke" this year and changed the rally day name to the hopefully non offensive word "Positive" because Harrison either owned slaves or supported it or something, I didn't catch the whole news story on the evening news. Apparently it wasn't as inoffensive as they thought as there is a bunch of pissed off people that are not happy about the name change and have been voicing their opinions on social media and the local news outlets.
